Electric Light Orchestra have a deep, deep catalogue. Orchestral Prog Rock. I'd recommend their Evil Woman next but they've got a ton of hits - Sweet Talkin' Woman, Turn To Stone , Tightrope, Big Wheels / Summer and Lightning, Roll Over Beethoven, I'm Alive, Rockaria, Last Train To London, Telephone Line, All Over the World, So Fine, Mr. Blue Sky, Strange Magic, Can't Get It Out Of My Head, Confusion, Don't Bring Me Down, Showdown to name most of their hits!

Some facts about Jeff Lynne (ELO)...First, he is a very humble man, simply because this Music Genius is not interested in fame, the limelight, and money, he just loves to create great music. Jeff Lynne is one of the most versatile musicians ever, this is why he is considered by his peers to be among the greatest. He didn't stick to one style of music because, after decades, it gets boring. Jeff has done progressive Rock, Symphonic Rock - Pop, New wave, and Disco. Everything he does turns to gold. He even flirted with Country music. From 1972 to 1986 (During 14 years) Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra has had more top 40 hits than any other group in the world... 51 years later they still play in sold-out Arenas, festivals and Stadiums. During Jeff Lynne's ELO 2019 Tour, many reviews agreed in saying they are the best live Classic Rock Band in the world still touring and Jeff Lynne is a Music Genius( From Forbes Magazine and the Washington Post). ELO is in the Rock Hall of Fame. Lynne is on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and Birmingham Walk OF Fame. Jeff Lynne’s ELO won the Best Classic Rock Band plus Lynne won the best Songwriter award ( ASCAP ) in 2019 for his fantastic contribution over the years. In October of 2020, Jeff Lynne has been made an officer of The Order Of The British Empire for his extraordinary contribution to music. He previously has received three Ivor Novello Awards, which celebrate songwriters and composers, including the award for outstanding services to British music. He created the best Super Group of all time with his best friend George Harrison, The Traveling Wilburys. The Legends in the Music Industry call Jeff Lynne the best overall Musician ever and a Producer Extraordinaire. Jeff Lynne has written and produced many hit songs for music legends like George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, Joe Walsh, Brian Wilson, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Bryan Adams, Aerosmith, Del Shannon, the Everly Brothers, The Beatles, and so many others...In June 2023 Jeff Lynne was inducted in The Songwriters Hall Of Fame ❤👍💯

Three great influences that shaped The Beatles' music include Buddy Holly, Little Richard, and The one and only King, Elvis Presley. While all three of these musicians impacted The Beatles strongly, Elvis' style, sound, and all-around charisma left a lasting impression on all four of the young, eager members. The Beatles were also influenced by Cliff Richard and The Shadows, Bob Dylan, Chuck Berry, The Beach Boys, The Everly Brothers, The Byrds, Ravi Shankar and Eric Clapton. 13 Beatles Hits That 'Rip Off' Other Songs kzbin.info/www/bejne/eITOeYWfnNmeqM0

ELO was one of the biggest hit makers of the 1970s through early 1980s. Their music was everywhere. Your next reaction should be a typical choice: the long version of “Mr Blue Sky” as you’ve likely heard it before. Baby Groot danced to it in Guardians 2. By the way, hip hop groups have sampled ELO’s grooves and hooks. And one of musical genius Jeff Lynne’s many collabs was with Tom Petty (Won’t Back Down, Free Fallin’, etc.).

*Corey, it was me who suggested this song/this band.* Thanks for honoring my request, I'm stoked all 3 of you dug it! Before I recommend the next song from ELO for you to react to, let me clarify some things for you about the band. During their initial and primary career from '72 - '86, they were simply known as, Electric Light Orchestra, or ELO, for short. Jeff Lynne was the founder/leader of the band, but his name was not part of the band name. That's a more recent change that's too complicated to get into. Suffice it to say, back in the day they were Electric Light Orchestra or ELO, but today they go by, Jeff Lynne's ELO. (If you want more details on why the name changed, tell me, and I'll reply with that info.) As for the whole "guilty pleasure" thing Fenom was referencing, it had to do with the fact that the word "orchestra" turned off hard rock listeners in the '70s, so for teenaged males in particular, it was uncool to like ELO. Orchestras were bands that our parents and grandparents listened to, and even though ELO fused electric rock instruments with a light orchestra, that stuffy old word "orchestra" in the band's title stopped some guys from even exploring their music, or stopping other guys from admitting they did buy and listen to their albums. And yup, I was guilty of that, myself. ELO was my favorite band, but when I went to see them in '78 I didn't tell my most of my guy friends, nor did I buy an ELO t-shirt at the concert. LOL The silly ego issues young men have. But girls LOVED the band, and weren't afraid to show it. And where the "guilty pleasure" thing came in, was that plenty of guys loved them, too, but just didn't like to admit it. lol So the band was super successful, cranking out more Top 40 Hits in the US and UK combined, 47, than any other band in the world during that same '72 - '86 period! You'll see a lot of guys in ELO reaction song comments sections say stuff like, "I never gave them a chance in the '70s, but dayum they effin' rock!" Or, "I loved ELO in the '70s and had all their records, but didn't let my buddies know." Hey, before I recommend another song from them, Corey, let me ask you a question. Do you strongly prefer to have songs with videos to react to, or are you guys just as cool with reacting to the audio only? The reason I ask is because ELO's prime years were before the MTV era, and so there are not many music videos, and the few that do exist are not the best quality. Let me know. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@thisisitreactions11 ай бұрын
Much love!!!! Thanks for suggesting it! It really was a great song!
@Cosmo-Kramer11 ай бұрын
@@thisisitreactions You didn't answer my question. Do you only want to react to songs that have visual content, like a music video, or a live performance? Or are you cool with reacting to just the audio of songs?
@bossfan4911 ай бұрын
Not sure why you picked a recent live recording with only 1 original band member. They have an official video for this song, and there's another video of the original band performing (miming to the studio track) at the 1977 AMAs, and a third video of them actually playing live on The Midnight Special. Any one of those would have been a better way to introduce this band and hear a vintage recording (be it studio or Live) of the song.
@Cosmo-Kramer11 ай бұрын
@@bossfan49 I chose it because it's a stellar performance, plus I knew the magnitude of the crowd size alone would impress them into wanting to explore this band that none of them had ever heard of before. It worked. ps~My druthers would've been to have them react to just the audio of the studio cut first, but I think they only react to songs with visual content, I'm not sure, I'm awaiting their answer to that question before I recommend the next ELO song.
@KevinSanderson11 ай бұрын
@@bossfan49 The Wembley Concert and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame shows are the best they've ever sounded on video. I've been a big record buying fan of theirs since 1973. I'm for putting their best face forward for an intro. The gents can dig to find the earlier stuff. Jeff Lynne regrets the sound quality of the earlier records from him having to bounce tracks on the limited tech of the day to get the bigger more complicated sound he was looking for.
