@@bianca952000 thanks pal 🙂. Not really all altruistic though. I was going through a really tough time in my life and throwing myself into rescuing dogs saved me, every bit as much as I saved them. Dogs are so incredibly inspirational in their ability to recover from abuse and neglect, to trust again. Most of mine came to me because they had particularly bad effects from trauma and love was pretty much all it took for them to rediscover the joy of living. Dogs, to me, are literally awesome.

I'm from Romania. I didn't expect this video. Edit 1: your translation "stay to have my way with you" is correct. These words can mean: to have your way with somebody, but also to make fun of somebody in a kinda cruel way, or despise somebody, take sthg for granted. Edit 2: very good job, sir, very well documented. I thought he had only 4-5 victims, but he was in a raping/killing spree. What I want to add, as far as I know, they had to do the trial at night, because Rimaru, who was stalking women who worked in late shifts, changed his biorythm: he was sleepy during day and awake at night. Another thing: neighbours didn't interfere probably because they were afraid of militia and Security, especially during communism. There was this saying that first they beat you, and after that they ask you. Even these days, if you complain of something the police intimidates you, maybe they fine you, rarely they do something to really help you, so you keep out of others problems. Also, it is true, at least for that times, that if people saw you laying on the street, they first thought you were drunk. It happened to my mother, when she was pregnant and she felt sick.

As a Romanian, I can tell you that you did a great job translating everything, and with the info in general. Honestly, the murder and rape rate here isnt as high as in other bigger countries, we are mostly known for thivery. Eitherway, if you are interested in another case, look for "Gheorghe Dinca". This individual became the most infamous criminal in recent Romanian history. Just a heads up, the case isnt really conclusive, though.

I just want to add to this that this case is pretty old, in a time when people were scared for their own lives. The old generations were taught that speaking up about Anything would make them a target. From a romanian to everyone here, I would like to say that with the new generations, the connection to the internet bringing cultures together and with the old regime long gone, please rest assured these cases of people not speaking up for strangers, or criticizing someone in a pool of blood are not so common anymore, and when something happens we are more likely to help or at least call the police.

You are not a victim honey, stop making everything about sex. This was 50 years ago, during the communist era where everyone minded their own business even at their own detriment. If the victims were men they would have received the same treatment.

@violet doesn't make it RIGHT .lol obviously, it's nothing close to what you've ever gone through, or you'd have more of a sympathetic outlook. It doesn't matter what Era it was.....they make the same excuses today and that is fact, I lived over in the "old country." Real pathetic, so many people still make these excuses. I don't believe in living my life by looking away from what looks bad, wrong, or scary. I'm proud not to live that.

They must have better hospital treatment procedure then the US. He was in the hospital for his finger from the 12 to the 26! 2 whole weeks for a cut finger. I myself have had major surgeries where I was discharged within the same week. People who have bullet wounds sometimes get discharged the very next day.

I think he was septic with fever and needed a long course of IV antibiotics. I would guess staph creeped in.

that's not necessarily better. it can be harmful staying in the hospital, it's easy to catch an illness there. also the food& lack of exercise/ lack of fresh air don't help. it's best getting out asap.

Hopefully, the townspeople there have evolved over the years from turning their backs on a stranger in distress into having compassion for their fellow citizens & the willingness to help each other when it's needed.

Well yea, nowadays Romanians are known for being some of the most welcoming friendly people. When Ramaru lived that was the communist era, an era of famine, propaganda, unlawfully imprisoment for even speaking ill of the dictator so people grew cold, hard because the enviroment made you that way.

Everyone had to keep to themselves during those times. The secret police had a strong grip on the whole country and being involved in even the smallest of incidents could put oneself and their families in danger. Those were harsh times, and so were the people. A Westerner couldn't survive one week in the shoes of a Romanian, especially then.

You have a lot of Romanian viewers, myself included. This case was infamous in our country, thank you for putting it into the spotlight. For those who don't understand the reaction that the people had, you have to understand that this was another time. We used to live in fear and you couldn't trust anyone because of the Secret Police. Anybody could have been an informer, in some cases people didn't even trust family members. It was a mentality that was meant to keep the population divided and obedient. Nowadays people are changing, we're not there yet, but it's a process and we've come a long way

Bravo!!! This is phenomenal work. Just thinking about the mental health issues (likely genetic) and the nurture or a homicidal father… Can you imagine what type of person that would create? What makes this so interesting to me is how the father was open about his killings. I wonder if he watched his father kill growing up and or raping… probably both. Crazy and great episode.

In the middle of a serious case, you made me laugh with your translation. It’s unbelievable that so many girls were attacked and nobody helped or called for help. It’s unreal that hospitals know what’s happening and don’t report a guy like this even if they don’t have a BOLO. Sadly, men boldly asking women for sex isn’t a rare occurrence even today. Especially on the internet. And we all know about unsolicited dick pics which I think should be considered sexual assault. I don’t have my photo online and even that doesn’t stop it.

The dad was just as guilty as the son here. He coached his son into becoming a monster, it's clearly obvious that he instilled those ideas into his son ever since he was a child. Not to mention his reactions to Ions constant admissions were nowhere near normal, I have no doubt he supported him throughout everything.

The Butcher of Bucharest: what murdering looks like when you're bad at it lol No, I'm relieved so many survived the attacks but it's like he was either confused by what he wanted depending on the night or so bad at execution that he always messed up in the beginning stage (hitting them over the head )
