The wife and I bought from farmer grade, and we were both surprised how much better it tasted. The pork patties with cheese were a huge hit at our family barbecue!

Thank you forr your sacrifice of making more video's. I know it is time consuming and takes you longer to do your jobs. It is interesting to see what needs to be dine on a day to day, week to week, and month to month basis. I applaud you as father and son working together. The family tradition. L❤ve you both. Keep on piggy farming. Many Blessings ❤❤❤

I am glad you are doing more videos. I grew up in western Iowa (Avoca) and loved farming and miss it. I but joined the military right out of HS and did 20+ years and settled my family in NC. My only thing with the video is you didn’t show the pork chops when they were cooked and tell us how they tasted different. I know there is a difference in taste. Keep up the hard work and stay safe.

I totally agree Sawyer. Once you ate American Home grow meat the taste is unbelievable.I’ve raised home grown beef & pork all my life. My family won’t eat restaurant meat it’s garbage. I promote farmer grade. Or any local American farmer!

Even though y'all raise your pork in the same "big way", you also hand select each hog. I don't know if you ever judged in 4H/FFA, but you have the "eye" for quality. Some grocery stores have better quality meats, but the one you purchased from is price based, you can luck a good cut from time to time if you know what to look for. My daughter's actually did Meats Judging with their Livestock/Stockmen's contests, and I learned a LOT from helping them practice at the grocery store meat displays. Another shopper did, too. After they had "judged" 4 chops, the other lady that was paying attention took the one they said was the best. I like to think they educated a consumer of the products we all raise. If I can't get my regular supply of pork, I will be getting some from YOU!

About 6 months from weaning to finish. Maybe a few weeks less, but they can flip a barn at least twice a year. Sometimes 3, but that's pushing it. Great question!

@@MorganOtt-ne1qjwhat is more profitable , i mean dairy farming or pig farming . Please reply.
@MorganOtt-ne1qj
@MorganOtt-ne1qj 4 ай бұрын
@@Pushpendar2585 You are asking a loaded question. Dairy is a 24/7/365 job, and takes a huge capital investment. All of your crops have to be paid for when you plant and harvest, but the return is spread over the year. With hogs, the initial investment in the facility is a hard pill to swallow, but IF you are a contracted producer, you are paid a set amount for the facility use, and then $X per pound of growth on the hogs, and the contracting company provides the feed. You are basically renting the facility, and getting paid for your labor, so attention to every health detail is important. Dairy doesn't have that kind of contract, but you have to contract with a buyer, whether it's a Co-op or a private owned processor. You can't ship to the highest payer on a day to day basis. And milk prices are not set by location, they are based on a formula that takes the aggregate of prices paid in parts of MN & WI, with a "hauling differential" and a "fluid use" differential. Then you can add quality premiums and "over order" premiums that can increase the price. Which is more profitable? Entirely depends on the market at the moment. Or when you sign the contract to supply the hogs. If you want to get $1mil farming, start out with $2mil!🤣 Great question, and if anyone else contributes to your question, I will be happy to see the responses. I'm just saying what I have learned. Have a great day!

That’s all fine supporting the little man, but what you just showed with that much fat that should not be. No one needs that much fat plus you’re paying for that fat that needs to be thrown away. If you want to really get in the game you have to take better care of your customers. Any thing you buy from you it’s at a premium price and remember things are tough for a lot of people!!!!!

How long do you have? For one, the alternative is unacceptable and destroying America. For another, we need to finish the wall and close down the border. Let people who want to come here do it through the proper channels. One more, we need to get the economy going again and let to perform as it should. I have many more but these should get you started
