I'm slow. I'm overweight. My legs hurt all the time. But I recently ran my first 10k, I just started training for my first half marathon, and my sister was inspired by my running to start her own running journey. And I think that's wonderful.

In 2020 I lost my younger sister to depression; she was 36 years young and although the pain does not stop, I've learned to live with it. I decided (Naively) to honor her memory by running 36 marathons... After training for a few months, I ran my first marathon last month and I truly loved it, everything from the training to the actual race felt awesome and every time I go out there I feel like I'm closer to my sis, I won't stop until I reach 36. Thank you both for being an inspiration in this long Journey.

I am a Disabled Veteran. Started running about 15 years ago at age 40 off and on to help strengthen my legs, but more serious at 50. Entered a few local 5k’s and realized I wasn’t half bad. A day after I signed up for a half marathon I was involved in a serious snowmobile accident. I broke an entire side of ribs, punctured my lung with the ribs, the docs said if I hadn’t been in the shape I was in I probably would not have made it. I credit God and running for that. I’ll be doing that half in September.

Also went vegan, quit caffeine, and only have about 6 drinks a year on significant occasions. 58lbs lighter so far and feeling lots better. 5k Park run at the end of July and hopefully a 10k later in the year, then a half marathon. 😊

@@alantinoalantonio I found personally it affected the quality of my sleep. I could still fall asleep by and large and stay asleep but I just felt like I hadn't slept. I now had a decaff coffee in the morning and a decaff green tea with lunch. So roughly 8mg of caffeine a day, very small amount and I find I'm ok with that. First few days without it were a bit rough but I find my energy is much better now and more steady throughout the day. I just tend to get tired around 8pm which is normal for someone getting up at 6am.

This is my second comment on this video, but I am compelled to share this. I unexpectedly got into running this year at the age of 37, and all the points touched in this segment are strongly relevant. The one thing I'll add to this that I have found rewarding about my running journey is that running is both extremely meditative and unforgivingly honest. Post-run highs always feel like taking a swim in waters you never knew existed and you never knew you needed.

My 3 year running journey starting in my mid 60s has completely taken me by surprise. I was the kid at school who always finished last at sports day and was the last to be picked for any sporting teams, however my family encouraged me to do the couch to 5K journey by giving me some running shoes for Christmas, however I didn't stop a 5K and it wasn't long before I started looking at possibility of undertaking the London Marathon, but it didn't stop there as Covid gave me two bites of this cherry and with a third marathon to try and run under 4 and half hour time, I made the mistake of running 6 min short of the US Boston Marathon Marathon qualifying time. So like Mary, I find myself in the bizarre situation where I am now trying to qualify for Boston. This to me is a surreal, imposter situation where had I told my younger self that I would eventually be a quick marathon runner, I would never have believed it!

I just started running at 45 years old, I’ve been at it for 4 weeks now. Lol, I have a hard time calling myself a “runner” yet, but this video helped! I AM a runner! Because my goal is to just not stop. I’m loving your videos, thank you! They are the the heart of where I want to be. Oh, and I also just had my first running injury, and I’m not sure I’m excited about it because I get to rest while still being a “runner” or if it just symbolizes that I am actually doing this. Hardest part for me is starting so late in life, with no real physical activity as my past, so my body is not quite sure what’s going on. Your videos and other s about proper form and going in slow as a beginner are helping me feel like I can do this. Thank you!

I too started running later in life! I've only been at it a few months, but one thing I realized is that my past physical inactivity is a good thing because I'm injury free. The runners I've met my age have nagging injuries from long ago, which I don't have. I did get shin splints a few months in, that forced me to learn how to rest, and how to prevent them in the future.

Started running at the age of 51, quickly learned that having a slow progressing plan are essential for avoiding most injuries, and when an injury was on it way, skip a planned run or four. After the first year I was able to race a 5K and after two, a 10K. Now slowly building the weekly mileage to run a half marathon next year, - but most importantly I learned to listen to my body, easing down when it hurts and progressing when it feels good.

Same mentality here. We can't go gung ho in our 50s and 60s when new to running. We have to build up experience and a solid base. Even leaving age aside....a 50 year old runner who is running decades is going to have a more solid base and experience than a 50 year old who only just started out.👍

Great work you two! My running journey started after slipping a disc in my back while weightlifting at the gym. I became frustrated as it never fully healed because I could no longer do what I enjoyed and watched my progress and body slip away. 6 months later, a colleague asked me to do a half marathon with him (with 10 days notice) as the person he was running with dropped out and he wanted to enjoy a celebratory drink at the end. I was in a spiral of bad habits at the time, lack of sleep, ignoring life and work duties, not giving my kids the best version of myself, so figured I'd use this opportunity as a catalyst for change. 3 short runs later, I was thrust into a very painful half marathon with the sole aim of completing.. which I did in 2hrs38 with a combo of running and walking. This experience, though tough was electric because of the atmosphere. Shortly after I signed up for another half marathon this September and have immersed myself into the training and watching content from creators like Messy Happy. 8 weeks on and I can finally say I see small signs of progress, but more importantly I'm finding that I enjoy it and prioritise evening runs over most of my self destructive habits. It's been a blessing.

I'm in my early 40s, and I started running about 9 months ago. Anyway, I did a 5mi race over the weekend. There was a teenage girl around 10m in front of me for almost the entire race. At about 4.5mi she stopped running all of a sudden and started walking. I shouted "what are you doing?! Don't quit on yourself, you've got this! Only half a mile left!". Being a teenager, she gave me a little backsass, but then started running again. After the race when they were giving out awards, I saw that she got 1st in her age group! March of 2020 I was 305 lbs. A big chunk at 5'11. Was hospitalized with typhus fever/sepsis/pneumonia for 12 days (8 in ICU) in May of 2020 at 44 years old. I was always in athletics as a kid. I played soccer, baseball, basketball, football, etc. Had a functional knowledge of nutrition and working out/lifting all my life, but I got big over time because I just didn't want to put the work in to be in shape. Getting sick scared me, and gave me an attitude adjustment. Also, I quit football when I was 15 after an injury to my neck, and I've lived with that as a regret ever since. I'm a competitive person, and running helps scratch that itch. I can compete for a goal, and I have a direct effect on the outcome. Puts me back in the arena. Enjoying the process is difficult some days because that is my biggest struggle. Performance vs. Process. Enjoying being out on the run for the runs sake and not considering the performance outcome is my next big hurdle. I started working out in July of 2020, and started running a year later. Glad to say my efforts have gotten me to weighing under 205 lbs (over 100 lbs of weight loss), and I've raced in distances of 5km, 10km, and HM (and like Jani, completed a HM in training as well). Right now I'm beginning a marathon training block which started this week and will carry me to December. That is when I'll run in the San Antonio, TX Rock and Roll HM on December 4th. And living in South Texas, training is difficult because of temperatures being 100-105 F. I run my distances starting at 5am when it's the coolest. Thank you Ben and Mary, because your training plans have been the foundation that has gotten me to where I am. I've done some modifications to them because I rest on Sundays (Christian/church goer). Thank you so much for all your work, videos, and the time you've invested to make this channel great because it's definitely had an impact on me! Appreciate it much! 🙂🤟

I loved it! Got fit, lost weight, got happy. Then at 65, I stupidly moved to Florida (from Vermont) to be near a sibling. It was too hot and humid, too flat, and it wasn’t home. I ran the best I could but lost muscle and speed. Then Covid and I was stuck there. I’ve just moved back to Vermont and I’m very happy. For me, I'd always been pretty fit and healthy until I turned 18 and was hit by a car on my way to college, just before exam period. I was lucky and the worst I ended up with was cartilage damage round my knee. Once I went to uni I got caught up in drink and the rest. Nearly three years ago, I came back from 6 weeks working in Madrid, the heaviest I'd been and decided I needed to start doing something again. I ended up going to park run, my first ever one was 30:30. I then signed up for a HM about a week later and decided I'd raise money for the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), a cause close to my heart. I ended up doing that half in 1:54 on a stormy day with 50+ mph winds. We then went into lockdown. I got very burnt out before lockdown, but somewhere in there I found a love of the process, in that time, I've achieved distances and times that I never thought my body would be capable of! (20 miles, 18:45 5k, etc.) It really is amazing just how much our bodies can do. I might not completely like how I look in the mirror, but I'm much happier and satisfied in myself. I also know I've still got space to keep on improving.

Great video! In my 40s I lost 125 pounds via diet and running. I ran 3 marathons and went from 5 plus hours to 3:45 over the course of a year. Then my knees started hurting and I gave up. Fast forward to May 2022 I was back to 325 pounds and back surgery number 5. At 54 I started over again with a nutritionist and walking. I waited the full year my doctor advised to start running again. I ran my first half marathon in April and have been training for a 50K this fall. I’m down to 220 pounds now and have been working through the processes you’ve described so well here. Being kinder to my body. Got some help from a PT when the knee pain returned this time around (IT band). My plan is to keep setting hard goals for myself and learn to be kinder along the way. I’ve spent several months this time around with a mindfulness coach to help learn how to do all this without being so hard on myself. Thanks for this inspiring post. It’s been very helpful. I was so thrilled however I was so focused on this goal I had no idea what to do next, so I ended up with a small depression afterwords. I simply overachieved to much and to early so could not see any other goals ahead if me so I got lost. I was very touch and at the same time extreamly inspired by this video and if i saw this video 2 years ago i would have known i should instead fall in love with the process. Today i still love running, i still have big goals, my focus is just swiftet to a life style view of point instead. I dedicated 2022 to be able to run 5k in sub20 minutes. Last week i reached that goal in 19.46. I just got home from a 19k run inval session and i still love it. Thank you for inspiring the world. Keep what you do, i am for sure a new subscriber ❤️ from Denmark 🇩🇰

I was diagnosed with depression and adjustive disorder several years after my mother took her own life. My way of grief really took a huge toll on my body. By 2020 I decided to turn myself around by running. Never did I knew how much I enjoy this sport and the tremendous positive impact on me as a whole. I ran my first and PB 10K in 2021 and will be tackling a half marathon this July. Running has become part of my routine like brushing teeth and self care. I do encourage those who haven’t done so to give it a go. It is truly life changing.

First off, what a beautiful story from Jani! I just turned 40 this past November and decided 40 would be my healthiest year ever. I’m generally a ‘healthy’ guy, but decided there were some things that needed to change. Specifically, flip flop the drinking to exercise ratio. One day out of the blue, my good friend asks if I want to run a marathon with him. Never being a runner before, I answer ‘yes’ without hesitation. Within two weeks (May 1st) my training began. Prior to that ‘yes’, I had never ran more than 3-4 miles, even while serving in the Navy. I came across this channel shortly after, and my obsession with running was born. I am now two months out from my first ever marathon. I have ran multiple half-marathons in my training, and countless 5k and 10k nights. I have educated myself in everything running related that I can; nutrition, exercises, gear, HR training, threshold, recovery, hydration. You name it, I’ve probably looked into it - and it has been amazing! Each week on my end-of-week long run, I get to say ‘this is the farthest I’ve ever ran’, and it feels incredible! To say that your channel has been an inspiration would be an understatement, so thank you. I follow your journey on Strava and am constantly impressed by both of your achievements. My friends and family ask me ‘so what are you doing after your marathon?’ … my answer has gone from ‘I’m not sure’ to more of a ‘well train for another marathon or similar race of course’. Thank you for teaching about the journey and the process!

I started running 18 months ago after I tore my ACL and got it as rehab. I wanted to start running already back in 2015 but I had been sitting down and getting fat for way to many years and wasn't even able to walk 300 meters without severe pain in my shins back then. I thought my legs were just broken and beyond fixing but managed to realise that you CAN change as long as you want to. Started working out with a friend back then and have been trying lots of different things since but I've come to love running thanks to that torn ACL. It's such a powerful feeling to know that I can go out for a 20km trail run on a saturday morning just because I want to. The freedom of being able to do what I want with my body is what makes it so much fun and so worth it! Having a 45km mountain race coming up in august and a 100km ultra coming up in november and it's such a powerful thing to know that 8 years ago I had trouble walking 300m and now I'm just weeks away from officially calling myself an ultra runner :D Thank YOU for the inspiration! Love your channel!

Thank you for introducing us to Jani. What a legend! At the moment, I am also preparing myself for a half marathon that´ll take place next year October in Mallorca. I started not being able to run for more than 5 minutes as I am overweight due to an ED, but now I am able to run 5 km, even though I am not very fast. Tomorrow I am doing an official 5 km race for the first time after 9 years. I hope I will be able to at least finish. Btw, everything that is said in this video is exactly what I needed to hear today. It almost made me cry. Thank you.

This is the only body God has given me, and this is the only life I have been given to live. Part of my training is developing a grateful attitude. When I run I see all the little creatures, the trees, the sky, the water and I look down at this very strong body that can run for miles and I am overwhelmed with emotion. This is a very positive and inspiring. Anybody can achieve a healthier and stronger body, if we love ourselves enough to do the hard work! Thank you for sharing.

Started running as an outlet for stress and wanting to get healthy, always been a big guy. Lost 15kg, ran my first half marathon; found the runners high 😁 became a dad, got guilty for the times I wasn't there, ran less... Ran not at all. Started again (my wife kept encouraging me), not so far behind, but certainly wanting for where I was at. Loving it again regardless of where I'm at, relate to the journey. Will always be a RUNNER for life now. If you fall off the wagon, don't be afraid to pick it back up again. As they say be kind. Thanks for your video!

In early 2019, a friend asked me to join he and his wife in climbing Kilimanjaro. I was in the worst shape of my life and hesitant to commit, but I told him (and myself) that if I could train for and finish a half-marathon, I would do it. In August 2019, I ran the half. I was the last place male finisher in my age group (haha), but it motivated me to keep training. Covid hit (and so did my friends' baby), but in 2021, I climbed Kili (without the friends), and I just kept training. This year, I ran my first full marathon (still slower than I would like) and two weeks later, hiked the Inca Trail. I love the running/hiking/fitness journey that I'm on, but I also like having smaller goals/destinations along the way. 2022 is the first year that I have approached with a one year training plan with goal races of varying lengths. Also, shout out to weight training. I lift 3-4 times a week, probably enough to negatively impact my running, but the other positive impacts it has had on my body outweigh the loss of speed (at least for me).

I absolutely love this Channel! Jani is awesome and very inspiring with his mentality! It’s made me want to share my story with you. In June last year, I broke my ankle in a game of rugby (which did prompt me to take a break away from that sport). Subsequently I put on a lot of weight, was eating badly and drinking far more than usual. It came to nee years day this year after an over indulgent Christmas, I stepped on my scales and I was 17 stone, my heaviest weight! I took a long hard look in the mirror and thought “no, this isn’t you, so you’re gonna run a blooming marathon this year!” I watched some of you videos for inspiration and training advice and off I went! So far I have joined my local running club, lost 2 stone and gone from a non runner to hitting a 21:11 5k last week and a 1:39 half marathon in may. I’m the fittest and happiest I’ve been in years. Training is in full swing now for the Yorkshire marathon in October. Keep inspiring everyone, you two are just awesome!

I just started running (run/walk plan) about 4 months ago. And i started in the hope to improve my mental health. That was and still is my main goal, just to feel mentaly better after every run and for me it really helps. Losing weight or have a certain body, was never a goal for me. I just run for myself, because it helps me to relaxe. Everyones body can do so much more, than the person self might think. So keep up the running people, you can do it! I recently did my very first 10k and my body got me over the finishline, without having to walk.

Back the start of last year I was running 5ks and long runs would be 10k. I decided to do something crazy as I didn’t what my kids seeing me just as an overweight dad. When I was younger I played semi pro football but my kids never saw that part of me. I wanted them to see that driven competitive hard working person I am. So I signed up for a 50k ultramarathon around the gower in Wales. I had just 9 months to go from 10k to 50. I did it. Just ran my 2nd one 40 miler and now looking to do 7 next year one every month from April. Running is 50% mental. You just got to get out and get use to being uncomfortable and pushing yourself. I am 90kg 45 years old. If I can run that far so soon anyone can

Ok for me, I started the journey at 267 pound not being able to run. ( originally 319 pounds). I walked, run/walked & started working with a nutritionist.. This helped me train better ( Fuel my body) I current weight is 183 pounds. People are amazed by my weight loss. But running started as weight loss. Now it is something else. Today I ran my first 5k with no walking. This is the longest distance I have ever ran in my life with out walking. I am 55, For me that’s a way bigger win. My body is doing it. Although I am planning on running several races this year. My real goal for the year to stop saying I run but to look in the mirror and see a runner looking back.

I quit booze and opioids almost 13 months ago. For majority of my adult life, I was about 155 pounds. From drug abuse and daily blackout drinking, I ballooned to 216 pounds. I started running about 5.5 months ago and I've slowly trimmed down to 182 lbs. Running is my new favorite thing. My first run back in December was 1.4 miles. My longest run was 11.16 miles. My average run is a 10k. I absolutely love it. It's so much better to get into my body than to try and shut my feelings off. I'm 35 now and in what seems to be the best shape of my life. I started running in my early 20s after gaining the freshman fifteen. I started loving it pretty quickly and when I was 23 three I was training for my first half marathon when I developed a "shower of blood clots" in my lungs (Docs phrasing). I was VERY distressed by it. I could barely walk far because I couldn't breath. My family has a history of blood clotting and I had two relatives who lost their legs because of complications caused by blood clots. It really felt like I was going to lose something. But little by little my body healed and my lungs and my legs carried me through despite disappointment and discouragement. I turn 30 in a few days and I just ran my first marathon this month. In high altitude. I think I am probably as prone to vanity as the next girl and I have my complaints. But it is hard to despise your body when it has given you more than you thought it was capable of. I am so grateful for channels like this and the many resources you guys have given me to get through this journey and appreciate that my body really is an instrument, chips and dings and broken bits notwithstanding.

Hello from 🇺🇸! I started running December 2019 when I started watching David Goggins videos. I had always been someone who despised cardio, but David got me pumped up. I went out and bought a pair of Brooks and began my journey. I’ve now logged 500+ miles most of which I have completed over last year and this year. I haven’t always made the best choices like when I ran two half marathons a month a part with no training and picked up injuries. I’m currently following Ben’s 25 week marathon training program for a marathon I’m running in November and I love it! Keep up the great videos!!

I was never a runner. I dreaded "running" the mile in school each year, as I was always last. I played basketball in high school, where running was used as punishment (line drills, double line drills...the stuff of nightmares). I found martial arts in college and fell in love, but then had kids and didn't rediscover it until I started again when my son was young. That gave me an appreciation of what my body could do, and I got my black belt. Fast forward to 2020 when the world shut down. I was overweight, lacked energy, and didn't feel like myself. I couldn't do my martial arts training, but I could walk my country roads. That walking turned into short bursts of running, which turned into a couch to 5K, which stepped up to a 10K, which led to my first half marathon in October of 2020 and my first marathon 2 days after my 42nd birthday. I now have a part time job at my local running store (in addition to being a teacher), am training for my second marathon this November, and am contemplating a 50K in December. I get to share my running journey with customers at the store and hear their stories in return, and have been called an inspiration (which is an uncomfortable and humbling, yet honoring, mantle to don). My body is not perfect, but it can do amazing things. Thank you for all of your videos--channels like yours were a godsend as I discovered running at a time when we were all isolated from each other. I appreciate you both so much. 💙👟

You two are so kind and inspiring! "The grass in greener where you water it" - so true, I'll try to remember that. I only found your channel a couple months ago but have been hooked ever since. I started running last year, it was really hard and I could only manage about a kilometer before I had to walk. At school I was traumatized when we had to run a Cooper test (no running whatsoever before that), it made me feel really unfit even though I was a gymnast and quite strong, just not good/trained at endurance sports. Took until I was 27 years old to overcome the fear and try running again! Of course I picked up a knee injury after the first few months, I was too ambitious and ran too long too fast way too often :D Couldn't even walk properly for almost two weeks, let alone run, and after that at first I could only run very slowly for about 2.5k before the knee started to hurt. But I remembered some (very few) runs that were actually quite enjoyable, running in the forest surrounded by trees and bird song and just feeling very free and happy, and that's probably what made me continue my training. This year my running has improved a lot, I have been very consistent with my training and have taken it slow which really makes training more enjoyable, more sustainable and also, surprisingly, more effective. I'm currently working on increasing my weekly mileage to about 50km a week, which is something I couldn't imagine being able to run this time last year, and I'm steadily working on getting my 5k time to a sub 25min, which would also be huge for me as I started at around 35mins after my injury. Your videos are definitely a huge motivational boost, especially on days when I don't feel like going out for a run! Thank you so much for all the content you put out, and for just being such kind, lovely, relatable people! There is one thing I always wonder and would love some info about, which is: what kind of strength work is needed/best suited for runners? My main exercise hobby (before I discovered running, which I think is turning into my main form of exercise now) was/is powerlifting with a bit of calisthenics skills training here and there. So I am used to lifting very heavy weights (relative to my own bodyweight of course) and I do some bodyweight stuff like push-ups, pull-ups, plank variations etc. as training for skills like muscle-ups or a planche. But I don't really ever do most of the things I see in strength workouts for runners - glute bridges, bodyweight squats or lunges, core work like crunches or sit-ups. Not because I don't like them or don't think they're good exercises, but because they just weren't the best options for what I was/am training for prior to becoming a runner. Is lifting really heavy as good as doing more bodyweight exercises/light weights when it comes to strength workouts for runners, or is there something about the lower weight/bodyweight + higher reps approach that is more conducive to running? I am aware of course that packing on tons of muscle makes you heavier and that in turn can make running harder, but the beauty of strength sports like powerlifting or also calisthenics (in my humble opinion at least) is that you don't necessarily put on a lot of mass, you just train strength relative to your main lifts/skills, and that seems to be more of a neurological adaptation. It also seems like light weight + high number of reps mimics the kind of strength that's needed while running better than heavy weight + low number of reps, which is why I sometimes get worried that my strength training is really inadequate for running. So I'm just wondering whether I need to change my strength workouts to incorporate more bodyweight movements in addition to or maybe as substitutes for some of the heavy lifts.

I was an obese kid who started cross-country at 19. After a couple of years, I unlocked a hidden talent I never thought I had. My fastest 5k was 18:38. As an early-30s mom recovering from plantar fasciitis I'm not quite as fast, but I still love running just the same as 10 years ago. My best advice is to listen to your body and cross-train when necessary. Try to keep your cadence at around 160-180 SPM no matter what pace you're at, trying to keep a consistent form mostly landing on balls of the feet. And, keep protein consistent. I don't know if it's common amongst other distance runners, but I tend to crave carbs and can under eat protein unless I make note if my intake. Take care!

Thank you! In a way it seems silly looking back at it now, but at least it got us out the door, and that's what counts. And late night runs have that same type of 'getting it done' - vibes as running in the rain.

Yes, I used to go for my run pretty late in the morning (400m lap) so nobody would (athletes and runners) see me running slow or taking the walk breaks.

Started an active life change post 50. Begun with walking to an “eventual” goal, 30min, 3km, 5k, etc. I waited until i had built up the strength, conditioning, proper habits around nutrition, stretching, and recovery and could do a 16km/2hr45min and not suffer the next day. In the mean time, i lost fat and gained muscle, developed and learned what my body needed. That took 3 months to get there, then i started running. The goal was to be able to step into running and enjoy the lifestyle. I an a big believer in sequence and process over goals. It’s important to get your entire self to the goal, including a patient mentality.😊

I’m 75, 6ft 2” , 170 lbs. been training indoors for two months, went outside and ran with ease, slowly for an hour, and loved the feeling of freedom. The journey.

Powerful stuff, but brilliant. I've done a few 10k with the wife to help her along the journey, which has been awesome. However I also have a few goals too. Just completed a 50k and we're both doing Bournemouth half marathon. But before that I am running another Half. Also thinking of entering The arc 50 Mile trail run in January. Thanks for the continues motivation. 🙏 👌

wow, everyone here has so incredible stories. I'm a 16 y/o girl, my dad was a pro runner. 4 years ago we started running together, I bc i wanted to run a marathon one day, and dad bc it always brought him joy and it is good for him. this is how we have bonded, and we both appreciate the quality time together. we have trained of and on over the years, and I know he is frustrated about getting older, and not being as good as he was. but we started (seriously) training about a month ago, and we hope to run our second 10k this summer. i think in 4 years we will finally run our (my) first marathon together.

I'm 1 month in starting (again) my running journey after a back injury. I love it! I feel way more aware of my body and its needs, plus it helps my back. A win-win in my book :)

I don’t run, I don’t like it, but I watch every single video of yours because you both inspire me to keep working on my fitness. I don’t think many people are completely happy with the way their body looks, myself included, and no matter how many times someone tells you to love your body, it doesn’t make much of a difference. You are chipping away at it though. The advice to avoid comparing yourself to the god-like bodies on social media is spot on, and Mary’s incredibly touching words have changed the way I look at my body - if only for today… Thank you, both. Enjoy the summer break!

Fantastic video, you have helped through your channel by enabling me to form habits, using the process and recognising the joy in running. I was home, back in the UK, for a couple of weeks and found that I was able to just go out and run for pure enjoyment, not worried about speed or what people thought but head held high, enjoying the view around me. I am not currently training for a specific event but just loving getting out and being present with myself.

I had stalled on my cycling (cyclist first) and during the lock down I started running. Now I’m trying to run 300 miles this year, but it has transformed my cycling. I’m much stronger and my heart rate is much lower over what it used to be

Thanks for your content, I’m 57 and ran my first marathon for 40 years in 2022. I missed my target of 5 hours by 20 minutes partly due to the terrain, technical trail, and the elevation of 690+ m of ascent. The main issue was my mental resilience so I’m happy to find a channel that focused on running for life and the psychological aspect of living running rather than running to hit targets.
