The physician is so spot on about misdiagnosis and connecting the dots between symptoms / hormonal changes.

Thank you so much for talking about this and bringing it to forefront. Thank you for sharing fact-based information in regard to menopause. I am suffering now and feel much like the last speaker - emotionally and psychologically, in that I don't even recognize myself. And HOW am I going to help my mate understand what is even going on?? It sounds like I just need HRT, but with everything else - there's always a risk of "studies" finding out later, that they were in fact, wrong, as in the case originally with HRT causing breast cancer. Why did we not hear any of the women in our families talking about this?? We have to bring this to the surface as a normal hormonal thing that all women will experience. I have a daughter who is 30 - she needs to know what to do. She has two daughters now, as well. We can't let it go on this way.

Just started 3 days ago. My 3 worst symptoms. Internal vibrations, anxiety and insomnia. I literally wanted to die last week. Absolutely horrible

My GP said depression without listening to any of my symptoms (because he didn’t know anything about the (peri-)menopause. I now just started on BHRT, but some of my symptoms are getting worse (one week in). The thought that here you can only receive it for max. 5 years, is so scary when it affects all aspects of your life. I cannot wait for the hormones to kick in and would love to find out how to get testosterone (prevent muscle loss) and estriol cream (helps with elastin) next to systemic estradiol and progesterone.

So if we get on HRT will we have a period forever until we die? What about women who suffer from severe menorrhagia?

I’m 61 and I’ve been on HRT since I was 47. Best decision ever! I’m going to take it until I die 😀

Odd thing to say that men shouldn’t be apart of the conversation. Especially since this was even highlighted as important at 14:03.

Did you misunderstand? I thought she said that it definitely makes a difference due to relationships.

My Mum was the eldest of 5 sisters, they were close. My parents are old school. I had a older brother James he was 18 months older than me, we were very close and to a certain extent we brought ourselves up from a very young age. I come from a big family on my Mum's side. James my best friend and brother we talked about everything. It dawned on me and James growing up our parents didn't talk about the facts of life, puberty, first kiss, first date. It was such a taboo subject never to be spoke about. I spoke with my best friend and her Mum. James just got on with it, but we experienced growing up together and both of us were very mature for our ages and very sensible. Now I am going through the menopause I remember asking my Mum questions when she went through the change and she completely shut the conversation down very abruptly. Looking back that makes me feel very sad
