Mike, if you take your angle grinder with a flap disk and polish the top of your rail road track, like your hammer face, you could save some work polishing the back side of your work piece. You could also grind edges and corners of the track for different radii to help shape your sheet metal. Just a suggestion from an old wanna be blacksmith. Like your work and the tips and methods of hot rodding.

Hey Mike, the Flipper "A" is really coming along great! That's the first Jeep steering that I have seen in a rod and it looks like a good alternative if it clears the motor OK. I really like that '38 Ford dash and those Seats are Killer! Lots of fun to be had with that at the Flathead and old OHV drags that are becoming so popular! I enjoy watching them when I see them on the net. Thanks for another great video and all the best to you and Alli!

Mike, I saw a very Kewl strap on a tank a while back it was a 42 inch Men's belt he got from Good Will and he used stainless steel fasteners to hold it down, the Buckle looked Sweet so take a look it at some see if they work. Love your Show and yea its Cold so stay warm.

For shaping those dash pieces, you would have been better to use a leather sand bag with a large dead blow hammer. It would have been a lot easier to get the shape with the sand bag than the steel railway line.
@ThisOldHotrod Жыл бұрын
I do agree, however I don’t have one. If I did I would have used it. I’m just using the tools I have.

Hey from Northern the red t-shirt should attract some attention at this sunday's cars and coffee how about a steering wheel that's about 2 in smaller in diameter should give you a little more legroom and easier to get in and out of wish I lived in your neighborhood I'd like to buy it and run around with you guys

Mike, WOW, I am building a 30 A Coupe, I am using a 39 Ford Dash, bomber seats(like yours), I have a question, your firewall as mine, seems to have a horizontal crease about midway, but other firewalls I've looked at don't have that crease, why is this? by the way, my name is Mike!!! Mike, I saw a neat idea for a hole saw that doesn’t allow the pilot drill Luckily you were able to use a pilot hole saw. Take a 3/16- 1/4 thick metal, drill a hole in it, then clamp the metal over the piece that needs the hole. Take pilot drill out of hole saw using the the thick metal as template for the partial hole you need, or a elongate hole ( slot)
@ThisOldHotrod Жыл бұрын
@@kurtludwig6962 I’ve done that in the past when I need a hole drilled but there no place for a pilot drill.

Save yourself a lot of time and discomfort, and lower your seat now you’ve had a lot of rides so you should know better but so have I a lot of channel rides, if you just sit on the floor without the seat your idle windshield light will be right your steering wheel column will be right and you’ll love it and then have a seat made it’s about an inch thick but I density and you’ll be OK good Crouzon catch you later
@ThisOldHotrod Жыл бұрын
The next guy can do it. I know the seat is tall. But I’m not keeping this car. Every one of my cars is channeled wxcept the T.
