The Legend trilogy slow burn romance between June and Day was just😍😍 and I adored Laia and Izzi’s friendship and can’t wait to read the fourth book! Found family is probably my favorite trope ever and one of the reasons I love Six of Crows so much and am dying to read The Gilded Wolves!❤️

A Dark and Hollow Star is one I am very interested in. Mainly because I want a new fairy book, and most recommendations is SJM who I don't think I would like the work of. And I am just going on a quick vent here. (Spoilers about Shadow and Bone ahead) One thing I hate that happens in books is when a girl's or woman's wishes are dismissed in favour of what other people want for her. This goes for girls and women who don't want to get married...that ends up married. Girls and women that don't want to be a mother, then becomes one by the end of the story. It feels like it doesn't matter what they actually want, and it frustrates me. And one thing I appreciate so much about Shadow and Bone is that yes, Alina loses something (something important and loved by her), but she also got the life she wanted. She stated multiple times in the series that she wanted a simple life with a boy she loved. And she actually got it. Instead of being made queen, like everyone else wanted, she got what she wanted. And I am so happy about that. It doesn't matter that I don't really care for Mal (I don't dislike him, I just don't have any thoughts on his character except that he gets more hate than he should) or don't really care for their relationship, because Alina got what she wanted. And that is so goddam nice to see.
