"You know you're in trouble when people stop listening to sad music, because the moment that people stop listening to sad music, they don't want to know any more, they're turning themselves off" - Thom Yorke

I don't think Thom Yorke has realised the magnitude of his own masterpiece he just played. You can tell by the way he walks out the room as if it was another day in the office. Maybe he had no time to analyse

But then again...if he was ahead of his time...nobody would relate to his music and he wouldnt be paid millions to perform his music all over the world I agree he is one of a kind...but not ahead of his time

It’s shocking that songs like this are unknown to the vast majority. Radiohead / Yorke fans get a lot of stick for being almost arrogant. However... he is 100% on another level musically. So I can understand why people shout it from the rooftops. Yorke is godly.

I like this more than the album version. The drums on the album distract from the way the rhythm of the keys and his vocals weave together. This is beautiful.

I had totally forgotten about this video. I often watch these clips of him doing acoustic sets and don't realize I've started crying by the end of them. Nothing moves me like his voice does. Nothing. Nigel needs to convince him to do an acoustic release. Especially now. As he ages, his voice has even more of a fragility to it. It would be magnificent.

Krnflakgrl 71 I don't think he will do it unfortunately...he has seemingly found his place in a electronic haze, as much as it's beautiful seeing him do stuff like this he's to far gone to go full acoustic. as much as I love the electronic music he does in his solo work I would love for him to do an album like this.
@Krnflakgrl71
@Krnflakgrl71 7 жыл бұрын
charlieclifton I agree with you. It's a long shot. He does really appreciate the purity and clashing frailty yet power of it though- for instance Neil Young's acoustic stuff. I really wish he would. But, unfortunately, you're prob right. We might get a song here or there, but never a full release.

I'm firmly convinced that Thom has communication with something otherworldly. No one else writes anything like this. No taking away from Johnny either. But I think Thom is the conduit and Johnny is just a great musician who can channel what Thom is talking about.

A self-fulfilling prophecy of endless possibility In rolling reams across a screen In algebra, in algebra The fences that you cannot climb The sentences that do not rhyme In all that you can ever change I'm the one you're looking for It gets you down It gets you down There's no spark You've no light in the dark It gets you down It gets you down You traveled far What have you found That there's no time There's no time To analyse To think things through To make sense Like candles in the city, they never looked so pretty By power cuts and blackouts Sleeping like babies It gets you down It gets you down You're just playing a part You're just playing a part You're playing a part Playing a part And there's no time There's no time To analyse Analyse Analyse

"Analyse" was inspired by a blackout in Oxford. Yorke explained: "I used to live in central Oxford, on one of those historical streets, with all these houses built in the 1860s. I came home one night and for some reason, the street had a power cut. The houses were all dark, with candlelight in the windows, which is obviously how it would have been when they were built. It was beautiful." I mean, can we get other people to be inspired this much by power cut, that they create songs like this...

Nass Coda .... Exactly! This guy's a whack job!!! Climate change? LMBO!!! Maybe he mistook the part where he sings "you're just playing a part"... in their made-up, faux pas, fake narrative, where we pay the Government millions to 'research' or do something about something that's been happening for millions of years!!!!
