I used to have a later edition of the book, so I could tell it does not show Thomas getting buried in the avalanche. And the story is one of my favourite Christmas specials, especially for Thomas! I also did not realise that directional error of Donald and Douglas... but I am not too bothered anyway. I think both the book and TV versions are awesome! (By the way, funny you put in the Postman Pat theme song with Henry pulling a passenger train, then "Merry Xmas Everybody" by Slade when the lights at Tidmouth Station come on.)

Another fantastic Spot the Difference Jeffrey I was thinking you were going to do this one but I wasn't totally sure looks like I was right. Unlike Thomas's Christmas party this version of Thomas and the missing Christmas tree this one I haven't looked up on, though I did know it existed. Either way another fantastic video and once again Merry christmas.

The Class 47 diesel bringing the tree to Sodor is the works diesel; so, Thomas must have collected it from the works.

Wee disclaimer, it's the other way round. Gordon mentions the possibility of Thomas being stuck in the tunnel, which was why Henry 'whistled loudly indignantly, then he suggests the branch line and Donald suggests the cow.
@thomassimpson952 жыл бұрын
The Ladybird Book is far different to the episode, and is actually closer to the original book instead, featuring scenes of Donald and Douglas passing Percy, Toby and Duck as well as mentioning how they wanted to rest at a station.
@TheBritFromOz0082 жыл бұрын
It also contains images of these scenes which I believe were taken specifically for the book, rather than being filmed for the episode and cut for time.
@Jude-722 жыл бұрын
Actually I believe that the diesel is the works diesel which is owned by topham because he appears in James and the diesel engine as well because the wiki does state the works diesel is an actual character.
@MikeNicholsonThomas2 жыл бұрын
A lot was cut in the adaptation as there is only so much you can put in a five-minute episode. Anyway, this episode is also noteworthy for being the final episode of the series narrated by the ex-Beatle himself, Sir Richard Starkey (or Ringo Starr to you and me).

2:57 Correction: Gordon suggests that Thomas got stuck in a tunnel somewhere and then Henry suggested that he must have turned onto a branch line and Donald said that that branch line could have led too a cow. Also, When Donald and Douglas find Thomas, there roles had swapped in the adaptation from Douglas hearing Thomas and Donald assuming it’s the wind, too Donald hearing Thomas and Douglas assuming it’s just the wind.

@@jimmyhook4852 I apologize to everyone out there, but I just want to get this out of my system: Those, plus Sodor Fallout (and the countless AUs inspired by it), are the most god-awful takes on my favourite childhood franchise, period.
