Hmm, I came here after listening to one of his songs, i wondered what he was up to nowadays or at least what he was doing in the past five years, I do not have an interest in scoring scenes myself but this is quite interesting this would certainly be useful for anyone looking for advice on scoring movies, Bravo herr Dolby

Thank you so much for everything! I was 12 when I first saw you on MTV - I fell in love with your music immediately and knew that's what I wanted to do with my life. I begged my father for a synthesizer and went from there - I've never looked back. I can't ever repay what you've done for me, only continue to love what you do - Thank you forever, Professor Dolby.

I hear Gothic! I grew up with a VHS of that movie as a teen and got your soundtrack at the time (sicne got it on vinyl). Saw you in Cambridge in 2013 I think it was and you used some sounds from the soundtrack for your show. Was great ✌

Thanks for the tutorial! A problem with a lot of new movies is that the score overpowers the dialogue and makes it impossible to hear it. How can that trend be broken?

I know this is in an educational context, but you should probably re-upload these somewhere else as well, as youtube's DMCA system works automatically and is likely to take this down despite this not being an infringement of copyright.

Beautiful, but MIDI strings never do justice to real strings, even if it’s just one or two real instruments. Then in that case knock it up an octave, molto vibrato with a single real violin or cello.

completely irrelevant to the subject at hand - Thomas Dolby would make a fantastic Isaac Kleiner ;)
