Nikola Tesla also turned down the Nobel prize & had plans to provide free electricity to all.
@hydrolito5 жыл бұрын
His idea wouldn't provide free electricity some body would still have to have a power source that cost money. Even if someone could harness lightning bolts it would still cost money to turn it into a useable form. His idea was to transmit energy like radiowaves which could affect people as would be very large amounts to energy to supply all that power it would also disrupt television and radio by creating extra static.

Again he had no knowledge, but his contribution was VITAL, just a very simple example. The main contribution of Tesla btw is about high-frequency/high-voltage signals, not in theory but in practical experiments that could pretty much set up a theory on its own, reason why everything that came up out of it has his name, gladly that happened after Edison was already dead, but sadly when Tesla was also dead.

We’ll big Exxon didn’t like that at all and I guess felt it threatened America’s addiction to oil. So Exxon got it blocked so the batteries couldn’t be sold for the truck. Today electric cars and making another attempt and these big oil companies are buying into it now but we would be much farther along today if they hadn’t done that.

@vanillaice75765 жыл бұрын
Edison had an army of engineers working and inventing things for him (including Tesla), no wonder Edison patented thousands of inventions under his name. Truth be told, the only reason that Edison is more popular than Tesla is because Edison is an American so naturally he is more celebrated by the media at that time and Tesla has always been overlooked and just a footprint in the pages of history. I remember a few years back when the whole world commemorated Edison's death anniversary by turning off the light for a minute, got me thinking, how about Tesla?? Edison should be the footprint in the pages of history and Tesla should be the one being celebrated. Sure, I recognized Edison's contribution to mankind, but hey, he didn't invent all those things all by himself, he had an army of engineers working for him 🙄

True and only because he had money to pay for it and Tesla did not at least not at the beginning, but later he achieved all success and money, although he never truly cared for money but only for science. Unfortunately he had many other inventions but they were confiscated after his death, many of them will never see the light of the day because government would never give to us humankind something for free if they can charge it, sad but true.
