Had it been a 12 round fight against Sugar Ray Hearns would have won that first fight. He did beat him the second fight and was robbed of the decision. Sugar Ray is looked at as if he was the best of the legendary 4 Hagler, Hearns, Duran and Sugar Ray. He didn't beat Hagler even though they gave him the victory. Hearns ran out of steam in the first fight after being up the scorcard through 12, Hearns won the second fight that even Ray agrees he won, and he split with Duran. Hagler was the best of that era because he beat all of them. Hearns though, Hearns was my favorite and the most exciting to watch. Even when he didn't knock an opponent out it was so satisfying to watch his punches land.

@orionsimerl65393 жыл бұрын
@@mysticalgenie6228 What did my comment say? If it were a 12 round fight Hearns would have won the fight. On whose score card was Leonard up on after12? No ones, so that isn't subjective jealousy that is an objectively true statement. My second statement was that Hearns won the second fight and was robbed of the decision. This is subjective since different people see the fight differently, but this is also the opinion of Sugar Ray Leonard. Is he hating on himself or was the decision controversal in the second fight and a lot of people including Leonard thought he lost? I don't hate SRL, I just believe he was not the best of that group, and he was awarded victories over hearns 2, and Hagler that he didn't earn. SRL is not a favorite of mine because although he had great speed, footwork, endurance, chin, and almost everything you could want in a fighter, he wasn't ferocious and fought for points. When he would flurry or put together combinations it seemed like it was more for show than it was to harm his opponent. That's subjectively why I'm not a fan SRL, because he fought to look good in front of an audience and most it didn't seem to be intent on hurting his opponent.

My points were SRL is overrated and was awarded some victories he didn't earn. You haven't challenged that assertion. My second point is I don't like him stylistically because in a lot of fights his strikes were more for show than they were to harm. You can disagree with that but that is my perception of him and why I like Hearns, Hagler, and Duran better than I like him as a boxer. I'm not a fan Mayweather.
