"Just start slow.... and then play it this fast": BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Thomas is such a beast, I love his playing and that he tells you everything and how to do it. Then you just have to practice for like 20 years and you got it 😊👍👏😆

One thing I've learned from watching Thomas Lang all these years, is to 'hit like, then watch the video lol.

Adams William duck trucks man. I play for the song to the song. 35 professional years as a studio session drummer. I honestly am not a fan of stuck tricks.

thomas lang is the king of 'draw the rest of the owl'. anytime I've ever seen him doing a demonstration it basically boils down to "yeah so you just move your hands up and down with infinite precision while your feet do something else"

This is such a perfect explanation of how quickly Thomas can lose us normies haha. “Yeah so start slow and then ‘just’ get better bro”

His iinstruction videos surely get many drummers to retire in despair lol.

Simon, Me Too and I only play for FUN !!! I'm coming to realize, that at my age and playing level (low Intermediate - I can play Stones, Mellencamp, Petty, Clapton, Eagles, and the like ), If I can do something a little extra form the day or week before that i was able to do.....I'm a Happy Camper. Otherwise my OCD would have me looking for the Charcoal Lighter fluid :):)... Drum sticks could make good Kindling !!! Be Well, Happy Drumming to All. We Need it Now More Than EVER in this Feakin' Mad World.

That seems fairly easy and straight forward - I'm pretty sure that after 10 or so years of 6 hours a day practice I could do that too. What's the big deal?
@alancarver25112 жыл бұрын
The big deal is you did not do it and he did.

Why he say dont accent the second note? Whats the difference between accent the second note and play soft loud soft loud?
@richardgonzalez26983 жыл бұрын
Think you might have just misheard him. What he said was “IF you don’t accent the second note....” he was playing the hats and i think that “if” just got lost in the mix. So what he’s saying is you want to be accenting that second note,as in soft loud soft loud. Hope this helps and cleared up that confusion.

there is a real obsession with always be faster, accents, everything have to be clean and perfect, I understand is part of the job (kind of) but is really not necessary, I admire who can beat a million times per minute but I think it lost the north sometimes.

Nah I feel you. I feel that way with a lot of metal/prog drummers who are just so insanely good and perfect that they sound robotic. Like their playing lacks feel.
