Stephen Colbert took over as host of The Late Show on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015. Colbert is best known for his work as a television host, writer, actor, and producer, and best known for his charity work teaching English as a second language on Tunisian date farms. Prior to joining the CBS family -- and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves -- Colbert helmed “The Colbert Report,” which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. It won two Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series in 2013 and 2014, both of which appear to have been lost in the move. Colbert is pronounced koʊlˈbɛər, according to Wikipedia. His understudy is William Cavanaugh, who will be hosting The Late Show approximately one third of the time. Good luck, Bill!"

I agree about versatility. Before D20 system became popular, GURPS and BESM were the best way to have a generic rule system that you could easily apply to different milieus. I like elves, dwarves, orcs, and dragons as much as the next guy, but it was also fun to play as steam punk pirates, or space ninjas. D&D was a standard/classic, but GURPS and BESM provided a much wider variety of settings, characters, etc.

Neo Anderson Invent what system? D20? BESM? GURP? Cyber-punk? Post-apocalyptic worlds? All of these things existed pre-Fallout. It is a great series of games, but it definitely built on pre-existing themes, settings, and mathematical systems. It incorporated aspects from many previous games/systems. If you meant something else, please clarify, because I am unsure as to your meaning.

+Kazoo The Kid My Middleditch was in to Warhammer, chess, and making up facts because he misunderstood everything (EVERYTHING) but would then confidently argue in their defence, regardless. I know Middleditches are supposed to be smart but mine wasn't. Gigantic head, tiny body, would be about ~32yo but pretty sure he now serves me ham at a supermarket deli counter. I haven't had the guts to ask if it's him (partially because I can't remember his name, partially because I'm afraid he'll want to be friends).

Apparently 5th edition is a lot of fun, and it corrected the 4th's mistakes. I haven't tried it yet, but the people at my local boardgame cafe seem to like it.
