Thomas the Tank engine was modeled after the LB&SCR E2 class. 10 were built between 1913-1916 and were taken out of service and scrapped from 1961-63. Who built this example and was it built from scratch or assembled from parts, or is it a previous model of some other locomotive? Thank you for this enjoyable video of your day at the Strasburg Railroad on 23 June 2023, Jaw Tooth! Too bad the weather was not as cooperative this year as it was in past years. It is nice that the Strasburg Railroad has access to an actual steam powered version of Thomas, the Tank Engine to pull its passenger cars. I know that when the Illinois Railway Museum in Union, Illinois has their weekends with Thomas, the Tank Engine, that they have a diesel engine on the rear of the passenger train that powers the train. That was a fast Amtrak electric passenger train that you caught in Paradise, Pennsylvania. Too bad the rain messed up your camera and prevented you from capturing Thomas, the Tank Engine, when he cut off from the passenger train and used the Strasburg Railroad's passing track at Paradise, Pennsylvania to move to the other end of the train to bring the train back to the Strasburg Terminal. That would have been an interesting movement to watch. That was great to see MilleniumForce, Quacky Duck and Piglet on the Thomas, the Tank Engine, train.

If that line in Paradise is part of Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor then the speed limit there is 110mph. Some of that route has a 125mph limit. Steam trains are just epic. Look up the definition of epic and there is a picture of Big Boy. We can't even make them anymore. We would have to create a steam locomotive industry just to build them. The way things are looking we might be seeing wood-burning steam trains pulling freight before you know it. Can't run electric trains on solar and can't move everything that has to be moved in electric trucks. In the mean time, coal keeps the lights on and oil keeps us fed and clothed. 👍 JT, you're the best. I appreciate you getting a little wet sharing more of your usual fine content.

Breaker, Breaker, for the Jaw Tooth. I want to thank you for coming to the Strasburg Railroad in June 2023, in your travels you where close to where I live . We enjoyed this video of Thomas The Tank Engine. When my son was a preschooler, we went to a day out with Thomas The Tank Engine, in the early 2000's. We are only 52 minutes (about 50 miles) from Strasburg RR, PA. Back then they only ran Thomas, on a short trip, about half way and returned back to a side station. Next time you go there, check out the RR museum and Cherry Crest Adventure Farm. We visited Strasburg RR a number of times, over my life span.

My son who is now 32 loved Thomas & his friends when he was a kid, he had all the videos & train sets & when Thomas the steam engine was touring the area we use to take him for the short rides on old heritage lines, usually on old colliery sites.
