Beautiful video once again! I was waiting for this one, and it was as amazing as I hoped. Great to see and hear some 2ply clear heads on this kit. With these heads on, all the potential to play metal with it is coming out. Thanks for making this!

Great video! I'm so happy for you, you seem a nice dude. The ambience on and off is the room mics?? And one more question. Isn't a "pity" to buy an expensive drum kit but only trigger the bass drums? That's a question for most drummers that do this not only you Enjoy my friend!

Thank you for watching Elias ! And also for commenting a lot, it always nice to recognise the names of the ones I talk to via KZbin ! Exactly, when the ambiance is engaged, it is a stereo pair of Shure SM81 to capture the space of the room I am in ! That is a great question you ask here 😉 And it could be yeah, as it is for now an aesthetic thing. But as it is a dream kit, I intent to keep it for years and years. So there will be chances that I will record acoustic kicks later on…😉

An excellent sound demonstration. I really appreciated that you didn't hit the cymbals, so we could focus on the attack, tone, sustain and decay of each drum. I would like to hear that kick with a remo ps 2 or an Evans equivalent. I have stayed away from Yama drums because they usually don't offer kicks with a 45 degree bearing edge. You had that kick sounding about as good as I've heard a Tama kick sound.
@ThomasCremier8 ай бұрын
Thank you so much ! I really wanted to let the toms and kick resonate to its full potential as it is a soundcheck of the Tama STAR Walnut set and not Zildjian cymbals 😊 Happy you like it ! I understand and I am curious too about the kick with a two ply Evans head… maybe later on with an acoustic kick recording 😉 I really am blown away about how it sounds, and especially raw as it is presented in this video ! Cheers from France !

Hello Thomas 👋. Your new Tama looks great and sounds great ❤🔥. I have a question because I also use Evans EC2S Clear and EC2S Reso, and for my Starphonic Cooper Snare I use Heavyweight Dry Coated 2ply on the top. We have a similar drum setup (mine is the Tama Starclassic Walnut Birch). Do you tune your rack toms and floor toms to specific sounds and notes or just what you hear? You have a great sound and that's why I would like to compare it with how my dad tunes my drums. Thanks and greetings from Poland 😊
@ThomasCremier9 ай бұрын
Hi there Emmanuel ! Thank you so much for watching !! 🔥 Nice choice of heads for your toms and snare 😉 I always tune my shells with the batter head first to choose the right pitch by ear and then the Reso one to set the sustain. I never tune to a specific note. Only pitch without any tuner ! But for the next video I will release, I will test something 😉 But if you want to learn how to tune your shells, I don’t know if you saw but I released a series of videos to share how I do it ! Without offense, considering that the interaction between all the toms, bass drum and snare make the sound of a kit, difficult to know, with no sound on the bass drum, why to play a such kit with in definitive, a dead sound ?
@ThomasCremier2 ай бұрын
No offense taken don't worry! This is a presentation of the raw sound of each shell, with the heads I chose to use. As said in the video, sound research of the snare drum takes a while video to share, so I really focused on the toms' sound in that video. And in my style of music, almost all drummers use triggers to capture the kicks. But to hear the full kit, mixed and produced, please wait for the first cover I will release ! On my channel, the next video will be the comparison (and sound research) of eight different Puresound snare wires, and then the first cover with that new kit ! Hope I answered to your question, and that you understand why I chose to do it like this. Cheers from France !

I am sorry but I do not understand what you mean… should I smile more?
@denisdimitrov50512 ай бұрын
@@ThomasCremier Yes man! I understand its a business job for you mostly, but drums are the most emotional instrument to play... You have some amazing songs and videos, if this was the first time I see you, I wouldn't guess that. I know most of the stuff that you show here, but if I see what YOU do, the way you like to play, your style, your mastery, Then I may really think about buying them. I know maybe I am not in the target group for the video, but then at least make me a link to another video that you just crush the same rig from playing the songs you like... then I will watch 2 videos and like them. My advice in simple terms, the seller should never look like a product.
@ThomasCremier2 ай бұрын
@@denisdimitrov5051 Well, I personally think I am showing enough emotions when I speak and present everything before the drums playing parts. And maybe you shouldn't assume things too fast, but I do not earn any money doing these videos. I love producing content, I love investing my time and money creating the greatest content possible and share it with the ones interested. I totally agree with you about the emotions about playing drums, have you checked my videos in which I play drums? Because here it is a presentation video, and it doesn't even show what I do. My aim about that video isn't really to sell drums, I am not a drum seller, I just want to share my thoughts about my new drum set, that's all. Thank you for your kind words but I do not understand your last sentence as you say that "the seller should never look like a product". By definition, if you want to sell a product, you want it to be as welcoming and perfect as possible, so like if it was "smiling" to you, and the only comment you told me (although you are telling me that you are supposed to know my stuff), is to smile more. So by letting the drums being the point of interest and not showing off being too smiley and emotional, is again not the thing to do? And the first cover with that drum set will come starting 2025. But for now, my advice in simple terms is just go watch my videos, and please show me how you look like when playing drums.

Why the toms are so thin sounding? I hear no bass at all. I don't like the sound at all.
@ThomasCremier5 ай бұрын
Because we are not used to hear a flat recording of toms. These toms are 100% raw recorded through my Shure Beta98AMP which are very precise and not boomy, but if you analyse the sound recorded, you can see all the toms has a good bass presence that can be really pushed when mixing. In real life, the floor toms make the room shakes !
@JanusJanavas5 ай бұрын
@@ThomasCremier I want to clarify that this isn't a personal critique of your skills or efforts. I believe the issue lies with the drum sound, which comes across as a bit thin to me. While I understand your point about the mics-I've recorded drums myself many times-I've found that certain drums naturally sound fuller under the mics without requiring much processing. Sound is indeed subjective, but in my experience, drums like the Gretsch Renown series and above and Mapex Saturns tend to have a bassier, darker tone while still maintaining good sustain.
@ThomasCremier5 ай бұрын
@@JanusJanavasoh don’t you worry, I didn’t feel it this way at all ! I really think that the original sound with the original heads is really thin sounding because of the Remo single ply head (I really do not like at all). But with the Evans EC2S I installed after, the sound is wider, bigger, more powerful and impactful! These shells are really precise and have an already cut in the medium frequencies, and the bass region is controlled but big!
