Hey Thomas. Yes the Nikon way is what you crop is what you get. No more and no less in the saved file. Got a chuckle when you were attaching the 100-400. Nikon again chose to have the treading opposite of the other major camera makers. Oh well. Still great gear. Gotta love those fog shots you got; beautiful.

Hi Thomas, glad you’re feeling better. Those are beautiful shots!😁 As always, I really enjoyed this vlog. You really have created your own style to your channel that I just love. I get cozy with a cup of coffee and take in your wonderful photography, awesome footage and interesting voice over work. Your channel was the first that I discovered years ago. I have loved you taking us around the world on your awesome photography adventures, watching you capture gorgeous shots while learning a lot. To this day, I still have times when I’m out struggling to capture a shot and I think, “What might Thomas do here?”. I am a loyal fan of your channel. I’ve learned new helpful things, watched you travel to beautiful locations I had not previously known (and can’t travel to) and see you capture jaw dropping, gorgeous shots. Even the times when you don’t come away with a great pic, or a pic at all, I appreciate seeing those vlogs because they’re real and they show the struggle that landscape photography frequently can be. Those vlogs are also interesting. For all of the effort you have put into your channel and enjoyment you have brought to so many, THANK YOU! Your channel remains fantastic.

I share your love of the simple practicality of car camping. Aka, boondocking. Given that I shoot a lot at night, it just seems wasteful to pay for hotels and be trapped by reservations. I've done up to 20 days on one 6k mile trip in my metal moving tent, affectionately known as the PhotoSub (2005 Chevy Suburban). I need to get out for more 2 or 3 day trips.

You really make a good job of your videos, it's like being there with a good friend (who knows a lot about photography). The places you visit if raining or not doesn't matter and you have me thinking about my next car lol, rainy night in a cozy van then up in the morning to stunning scenery. The extra effort you make filming comming and going meaning you do everything twice, unless you have a secret camera person.

I have been with you since day one and have marveled through you landscape journey with you joy of developing and living with your van. But that has to be the best moment of shooting I have seen. That one moment explains more why we do what we do, that moment of peace and tranquility and sheer beauty is just a marvel to see. With all the travelling you have done and the fabulous places you have visited, it happens in woods by a lake on your doorstep in good old blighty. What a moment when nature is just perfect. By the way I have Thomas Calendar and it is well worth buying.

I have a LWB Delica, only the cam chain tensioner ceased and broke the cam chain, RIP. I found it frustrating that I couldn't wind down the rear windows when shooting wildlife, but it was quite comfy sleeping on the Lay Flat seating. Now use Transit with double mattress when touring France and Spain, as you say, nothing like waking up to a good sunrise with crashing surf 50 yards away.

I’m sure someone has suggested it already but you might try an induction cooktop. This would be more versatile and much safer to have in the van. There must be a unit that would work for your needs.🤔 Cheers & good luck. 🙂👍

@alistairbeavis15362 жыл бұрын
Great images Thomas. I'm quite jealous of the van for photography trips, but then I'd also need a bit more free time to get out and shoot. One thought on the cooking situation, have you looked at a small induction hob? Ikea make a single ring portable induction hob for £45. Being induction there's no heat on the hob itself only in your pan, so nice and safe, wipe clean too. Also it would mean you'd not need to use gas for cooking or have open flames, so much safer too. Worth a look. Should be possible to run one off a portable powerstation.

I share your passion for your camper and always enjoy your videos as they often combine my two hobbies. I‘ll start my two week photography trip to Cornwall on Sunday and I’m really looking forward and also are curious how compatible the weather will be with my plans. Current weather report predicts very changing conditions. UK in fall… Let’s wait and see. I’m traveling with my two little dogs and I can even stand in my van. So: nothing can go wrong and I incredibly looking forward for returning to Cornwall after over 30 years again! Your videos are always a great motivation.
