QUESTION OF THE DAY: Does it look like this 52" plow attachment would handle all your snow clearing needs? What other projects would you use it on? Would you put chains on your tires?

if i had a bigger driveway a 52 inch would do the job , but since we have a few ice storm over the winter i would consider having the chain or maybe tire with cleats

Claude Lefebvre Chains sound like the easiest solution if you’re dealing with ice.

Might be nice to have for cleanup but i would definitely need either new aggressive tires or chains. Also might be a bit much $ just to have an agile light plow. Cool idea for those that can make it their main plow.

Ok this is like my new CUB. Do to shoulder injury I can’t do the levers on the zero turn ,mine has the steering wheel and I love it.After spending $4400 for my new CUB I would not plow stones or dirt with it. Just myself others might do it ,not me. Hopefully you don’t tweak your frame . I want my new cub to last 20 years like my last one .👍

The Ultima seems very solid and the plow is made for all seasons. I'm not going to push it to extremes, mostly for snow and grading some crushed stone. The springs on the front of the plow allow shock absorption to the frame. My grandpa had a Cub for over 20 years.

I don’t know if you will tweak the frame. Square tube steel is actually stronger than cylindrical tube steel, why do you think body on Frame trucks, their frames are all square tube steel. The frames on these mowers alone are stronger than a lot of others

do you have to do anything to the mower to prep for colder weather operations? different oil? ect.

I normally start using REC (non-ethanol) fuel for the last few tank fulls and add some Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer. I try to keep the fuel topped off before the winter season. Last winter, we barely had any snow and I ended up using my snow blower only 2xs while the mower sat in storage. I don't use any other types of oil and change the it in the spring.

Do you have to remove the deck to use the plow? I have the 42” model and does it fit the smaller models or is it a different part number? I need to watch your video a few more times, but I think I want a plow😂

You don't need to remove the deck on mine. It's probably a good idea if you're going through some deep snow. I'm actually going to put my blade on soon because of some bumps in my driveway needing to be leveled out.

Yes, pretty quick to detach. The install in the winter takes a little longer, like around 15 minutes to install.

How much longer is the mower overall with the snowplow attached? I want to be able to park my ZT150 in my garage with the plow installed and wondering how much parking garage depth the plow adds.

I recommend removing the deck and putting chains on the back tires. I made a video featuring the chains.

Does the mowing deck remove easily? I assume this was the maiden voyage and removed after the filming.

Yes, I removed it later on without any issues. I recall seeing a good how-to here on KZbin.

Should lower the tire pressure for more traction and could also add fluid to tries but should go slower won't have pumps and ripples in drive way but great job looks goods also turn blade works to not digging and poping up

This would move some dirt. Maybe a single axle trailer load. I think it's only designed for the Ultima, but may work on something else if it's given some custom modification.

I have the same plow and zero turn. Will the plow and/or the brass “feet” (that are adjustable) scratch a concrete driveway? A light textured concrete. Not one as smooth as a garage floor... hope that makes sense. And thank you

I plowed my concrete garage approach several times with this plow last winter and didn't notice any scratches.

Is it a hard time reaching for the plow handle to raise the blade before going into reverse? I watched you whole video and only 1 time did the video show you reaching for the handle and it looked to be out of ready so you grabbed the bar below the handle

Yes, I often grab below the grip to raise it up, since it's easier to do. The handles are kinda far away, but it's probably best they aren't any closer for safety reasons.
