I just finished making this food for my almost 13 year old boxer/pit Buster. It was the first time I used my Instant Pot. My Buster recently starting having seizures & he has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. I have always thought about making his food & then came across your video!! It was relatively easy to make once I got comfortable with the Instant Pot. I made 1 weeks worth. I gave Buster a scoop of it and he started it down!! He loved it! You might ask why bother if he has a brain tumor. Well I've had him since he was 9 weeks old. I'm going to spoil him for the rest of his days. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Brain tumor, let's hit it with several foods, blueberries, blackberries, straw and raspberry, lions main mushrooms, ginger, Cruciferous Vegetables (broccoli example), fatty fish(salmon), walnuts, spinach, folate rich foods, Brussel sprouts, curcumin, carrots. Actually I just looked this up for you. Google. Here's a secrete one that kills cancer/tumors and gives stem cell repair= sea buckthorn berries(200mg/day). So make your meat a fatty fish, salmon is best. Add spinach, broccoli, blueberries for sure or mixed berries(antioxidant mix bag is great), ginger, turmeric & curcumin& black pepper for absorption (a must on pepper), olive oil(extra virgin must), lionsmain mushroom, carrots and what ever else. Blueberries & lionsmain will help repair the brain cells and memory, but blueberries will help kill tumors. The tumor can still be killed. She doesn't have a death sentence until you give up for her, your her only hope. Good luck and just Google'foods that kill tumors'. Cross reference Google foods safe for dogs( garlic would be good, but I guess they can't have that, idk.) Good luck to your dog and you. Study it out is all you can start with. Then once educated, apply the knowledge and live. Tart cherry is great for inflammation also. Plus all these food do the same for us

Consider using bone broth instead of the water and the nutrients they’re worried about loosing actually are in that water, so use the water you cooked the meat and veggies in, it’s nutritious. You also might consider omega 3’s in the form of chia seed and or flax seed, salmon chunks or salmon oil. I also add collagen powder, that helps with the joint pain. Good job at spreading the good news about real food for our real pets.

I have been feeding Raw for 20 years. I can tell you that this recipe was much better than your first one. I have my own chickens, so if my dogs get eggs and I grind up the shells for them. I feed Rob not cooked but cooked is fine too. My biggest suggestion would be to stop the rice. I see this because rice is inflammatory. So if your dog has arthritis or anything like that, the rice is not going to help at all, it will make it worse. Feed your dog, some raw meaty bones like chicken necks, chicken backs, or chicken feet. Or duck, nicks or turkey necks, etc. Of course don't cook these because bones need to be given Raw but that will provide a great deal of joint support for your dog.
@lionness24rules Жыл бұрын
I agree 💯 w stop the rice. Starches turn to sugars, which feeds cancers also. I never feed any rice, Quinoa etc. Strictly fresh, organic raw meat w bone, low glycemic veg n fruits, w large meaty bones for healthy teeth and fresh breath 😊 and mental fun for her too.

Quinoa instead of rice might be a nice change. Chia seeds and flax are great for dogs as well. I add all those plus a lil organic cold-pressed unrefined coconut oil. Everything else you added in your first recipe are what I give to my pup also. My dog doesn't care for blueberries unless they are frozen. It's a nice treat after a long walk. Yes, I make egg shell calcium, too. Oh, I also buy bone-in turkey or chicken. After I pick the chicken/turkey off the bone, I make a bone broth, skim the fat, then use that as the liquid for my recipe. . I also piece and squirt one capsule of fish oil on her morning breakfast and top it with a healthy supplement/probiotic powder. Also for a cooling, healthy treat after her daily walk, she gets frozen brocolli or green beans that have been previously steamed . A tiny ramekin of that cools her down quickly and she likes it way better than a boring piece of ice. You're doing a great job. Thank you for sharing.

I don't cook the meat,keeping it raw. Also, use oats instead of rice, as rice is a filler and high carb. You can add the occasional tined sardines or add omega 3 oils. More offal is a great higher protein supplement. I make my portions into meat loaf sizes. If you mix everything together, with added blue berries or grated carrots and zucchini and apple with the ground turkey meat. Form into meatloaf pans and cook. Cool down, and you can cut patties for your dog.

When we adopted a dog from the shelter he was throwing up every time he ate so i did a little research and started making his food until i found an option he could tolerate. I did chicken and brown rice with peas and carrots (it was what i had on hand at the time), and he loved it. I finally found a grain free kibble he could tolerate and now i make him pumpkin-cicles (canned pumpkin frozen by the tablespoon in my mini muffin tin) and "candy" (coconut oil with all natural p-nut oil) as treats. He'll be 7 years old in the spring and we've had the care of him for about 5 years now. The last vet appointment the doc said he's doing excellent, much healthier than on his first visit. I'm super careful about his diet because of all the trouble he had when we first brought him home, but I've found that he really loves strawberries, broccoli, and peas, among other things. Just watched and subscribed to your videos, and thanks for doing all the work in finding this recipe! Sable is a beautiful "sugar face". My Grady is also a 10-year old Lab and has a bit of trouble getting up and down - he's also 100 pounds. So...I was going to donate my Instant Pot - brand new, never used it. It intimidated me for a reason I can't justify, since I have an old pressure cooker and used it a lot for canning. Anyway, I've been feeding Grady various fresh cooked meats, veggies, and some fresh fruit for quite awhile, but LOVE your ideas so much more, since they're so much less labor intensive. I've been cooking meats and veggies individually - lots of work and time, although my Grady is worth every minute of my time. Makes so much sense to do it your way. My sweet boy is going to be fed like your precious Sable is from now on. Good luck with your move - I can't wait to see more of your dog food recipes! My Vet also agrees feeding more fresh food is best, and that we've been over-medicating our pets far too long, so Grady gets minimal vaccines and what my Vet gives her dogs. I trust her completely and Grady is a happy, healthy boy who's about to eat even healthier! Thank you so much.

Tip, the square holes in the instant pot handles fit the square in the lid to hold it, no need to find a place for the hot lid :)

Made this today from your prior video. Gave my 14y/o Vizsla a taste and he just stood there as if saying..MORE MORE! So I caved and gave 1/4C to each dog as a treat. Still they wanted more. Thanks for sharing. It’s worth it to me. Costed out to be $133/mo for each dog & Farmers Dog wanted $275/month per dog. ❤️

Made this yesterday but reduced the cook time on the chicken, to 12 min, put 1 cup of chicken broth in the blender with the liver to make it easier to blend/pour, put 1 cup of water in the instapot with the chicken, and only added 1 cup of water to the vegetables, and at the end, there was no excess water and thus I didn't pour out any nutrients or flavor down the sink. My dog absolutely loved it! Thank you so much for this video.

If you're adding a grain, like brown/white rice, oats, etc, cook that in the juices from the meat/vegetables. You don't need to chuck any liquid down the sink. Save any spare in the fridge for the dog as a drink.

Thank you for sharing your recipe and how you cook it all in the instapot! I have just purchased the ingredients to make food for my Marlee. She is a miniature schnauzer who will be 5 next month. So, I will be using my Instapot to prepare everything tomorrow. I have been feeding her IAMs dry food all her life until about 3 months ago. I began The Farmer’s Dog program with her and she loves it! However, I have determined that I can prepare good nutritional food for her myself at a must more cost effective price. So, I will be canceling that program and making Marlee’s food myself! Thanks again for sharing your recipe in this very informative video!

Going off @faithsgardenofweeden7366 's suggestion...i have an electric roaster that'll hold up to a 28 lb bird, it also has a removable inner liner so you'd have an easier time cleaning up. Or if you needed to cook for large or giant breeds of dogs. I have taken to adding a dash of black pepper and about 1/3 tsp. Tumeric and 1/3 tsp. Ginger in my coffee. Didn't think about adding it to my dogs' food. Still learning as i go. 😊

Obviously you preparing your dog these natural meals, to me means you care very much for the well being of Sable, please ignore the people that comment about your pup's weight and nails. Some people just love to criticize on youtube. They are trolls. Thank you so much for great advice. Gonna try these recipes out.

I have been making my food based on your videos for 3 months now. My dogs healthier than he's ever been! I took him to the groomer yesterday - first haircut since he started on his home made dog food. The groomer said his coat is completely different. His hair is softer, coming in curly and turning red again. He is no longer constipated, has not had one seizure, his breath is better, and he is calmer. Its amazing. One thing I started adding is a handful of cranberries (to help him with UTIs). Thank you!

As far as the rice thing goes, which i am sure someone has probably mentioned by now, to avoid arsenic in your rice as much as possible just buy rice not grown in the USA. Other countries have far better food standards than we do as far as chemicals in their food.

I’ve been using your recipe for over two months and my 2 dachshunds LOVE it. The porky one has been slowly slimming down over the weeks and has more energy now and a silky softer coat. I feel great about feeding them fresh homemade food where I know everything that goes into it. I do sprinkle a probiotic, vitamin/mineral powder on top just to cover my bases as a first time dog food cooker. Thanks for sharing the recipe. Its affordable, easy and they gobble it up licking the bowl. 🐶🐶
