I can't believe that this has less than 500 views in 2 weeks time. They're started as a hardcore/skate punk band but gradually added more thrash metal elements which became known as Crossover, then when Robert Trujillo (the bassist from Ozzy/Metallica) joined they're sound added slight funk elements also. Been loving these guys since my "angsty/rebellious" high school days. People often dismiss them just because of the band name, think it's about killing yourself or being depressed but it's the exact opposite. Mike Muir is an awesome lyricist and their message is about empowerment and not giving up when you feel like shit. I'd recommend checking out a lyric video of "How will I laugh tomorrow" or "Sorry". This is a legendary band with cult status like The Ramones, The Misfits and so on. 👍🏻🤟🏻

Damn. Great reaction bro. I actually got a little emotional watching this lol. I grew up in this era. Suicidal had a 3-4 album span where their foray into straight up thrash rivaled anything else being put out by any of the biggest thrash bands. This song is a classic. Now at 54, it never gets old or dated. Thanks for the memory.

Ah, the joys of a blast of ST.... this takes me back to 12th Oct 1990, the Edinburgh leg of the Clash of the Titans tour. ST opening, then Testament, then Megadeth (yes, I got to see Marty Friedman playing those killer Rust In Peace songs live- tremendous), & Slayer closing. Frustratingly, security at the venue were not used to 1000+ enthusiastic youths turning up as part of the crowd for a metal show, with all manner of skate gear, bandanas, & comedically chunky chains on their wallets (several of which were causes for refusal of entry as they were deemed weapons!), so there were delays getting into the venue, & we missed their first couple of songs. Banging energy tho. Can't remember what the ticket cost, but definitely one of the best value ones I've ever purchased!! :) You should definitely check out some Infectious Grooves as well as ST. Mike Muir, the ST frontman liked what Trujillo was doing on the bass so much they created IG as a side project. I'm a fan of their "Therapy": kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmXIonZpeb2Spac Surely the most amusing (& only?) single-word guest vocal ever!! I'll not spoil the surprise as to who that guest vocalist is.... just enjoy the thing. ;)

Them being banned in LA was real. There's two stories that state why, maybe both are true: (1) One of their concerts caused millions of dollars in damage to a venue, where the first 10 rows were completely destroyed. Insurance companies decided to not cover any venue featuring this band if they are playing, so nobody would book them. (2) Most frequent answer to this being most likely, but Mike Muir(sp?) who is the vocalist, started a street gang, and Suicidal was it's name (was something before that). Being that this band is actually tied to street gangs in the day, nobody would book them for the fact they didn't want criminals in their venues, and the derelicts they attract. That's what I recall. Someone may be able to expand on it, or correct something(s).

Yes! ST is just a great band and they are still going on today, though I believe Mike Muir (singer) is the only original member. Dave Lombardo from Slayer is their current drummer. They started out as a punk band and their first two albums very much reflect that. After they hired Rocky George (lead guitar) they kinda went a more thrash metal style. Rocky plays with Fishbone I think these days. They kinda went on to do a little bit more relaxed style stuff, but it was all awesome. I recommend "Institutionalized" (a song off their first album that they later re-recorded) and "Send Me Your Money". both of those songs have some great lines in them.

Mike Muir, the lead singer, is the only constant member of ST. With each new member the music changes. ST’s music changes drastically from one album to the next. This is off Lights…Camera…Revolution, and it is probably from start to end my favorite album of all time. How will I Laugh Tomorrow is their best song…best song ever written IMHO, but the album isn’t as good.Art of Rebellion was their most critically acclaimed album which pissed Cyco Miko off and he wrote Suicidal 4 Life as a middle finger to the critics (Also a great album).

Mike Muir is literally the nicest guy in music. And you are right, now with Dave Lombardo on drums the ST machine is kicking ass and taking names today. These boys were the ultimate beacon of inclusivity, mental health, the struggle of life and sticking it to the man. A few years ago at bloodstock there was a dude in a wheelchair, I'm guessing this guy spends a lot of the time either on a disabled platform or at the back out of harm's way. Not when Mike Muir saw him. Na, this dude was crowd surfed to the front of the stage and joined the band for a bit with Mike whizzing him around the stage. This wasn't some woke thing, this was because these guys genuinely give a shit about people. Later in the same gig, a young child got to help out Dave Lombardo during a song. ST has always been about that and although they might not have had the tier 1 success they deserved, they have a solid Partizan crowd that love what they do. If I could onlysee one more gig before I died, I reckon it might have to be ST.
