I cant wait to see if you can repeat that wonderful group!

Me too. I am really wondering if all this time we slow things down a little that are groups will improve. I think this will be the next direction I test.

Nice! Hodgdon powder is made by ADI in Australia. AR2217 being the equivalent to the H1000. I'm in the process of developing the same load right now. This should be interesting.

Interesting video thanx! I use Norma brass in my Howa 300WM 24" and have used many different bullets in it successfully. Your finding of 94.5gr closely matches my own measurements in H20 capacity. I anneal every cycle and have 27 cycles of those cases already....jip 27... What i have found is the secant ogive bullets like the Eldm/x range tend to be "very" jump sensitive. And they more often than not like a greater jump. 1.5mm to so far as 3.5mm!! I would look at that low ES load again at different jumps. This calibre is very sensitive to neck tention as well. I believe your Norma cases and Larry Wills dies are the best combination I've come across. Thanx again!

Wow that is finally a decent group! Took a long time to get too though! Most people would have given up long ago!

Giving up isnt my style. Hopefully we have learned something here and this will translate to some other combinations.

As I understand, Amax tips melt at high fps rates. I think the new 208 eldm may shoot better. Great shooting & thanks for video

Got stash of 100 box 208Amax for 26" 308 Savage 12fv 1/10. Maybe within 100 fps of the 300wm. 2650fps should be doable ? RL26 ?

Nice group! I have been following your progress hoping you can save me some leg work in load testing for my Remington 700 5R in 300WM. And I have a bunch of the 208 AMax bullets if you need some!

AS THEY NO LONGER MAKE THE 208 AMAX, HOW WOULD THE 200 GRAIN ELDX COMPARE? YOU'RE TEASING ME WITH OBSOLETE BULLETS.

Question to anyone that knows case max capacity is 94 gr of powder saying that could u reload with that amount of powder

Nice group buddy can't wait for the repeat. Do you know anyone who has had a go of one of these rifles in 7mm rem mag i thinking of getting one. Whats your overall opinion of it
@BoltActionReloading5 жыл бұрын
I have bought my last TC compass, I think. It's just been more trouble than it's been worth. I will probably have some fun with the 6.5 creedmoor, so maybe the 7mm would be ok, but by spending just a little more you can get so much more performance.

I bought one in 7mm08. So far my testing has yielded some results with Barnes TTSX.

I have one in 7mm rem mag and it shoots fantastic. I worked up a load and I’m using the Hornady 162 grain ELDX with 62.5 grains of RL 22 with Federal 215 primer and Nosler brass. It shoots half moa all day. Think the velocity is around 2905 off the top of my head but can’t remember.

@@infernooutdoors3137 cool cheers for the info I ended up buying a browning ab3 7mm last week and I'm thinking about shooting the same bullet and powder combo and I'm looking at a Bushnell forge for the scope for it

Bradley Tyrrell Look into the Nikon Black FX 1000 too! They’re great scopes I can’t say enough good things about! That’s what I put on my compass. I’ve had it for about two years now three hunting seasons. I took a Muley the first year with it at about 310 yards with that load I was talking about. Almost had a shot at a Elk at a touch over 700. Taken two whitetail at around 100-150. I don’t really like the ELDX for those ranges I shot upclose wasn’t god results. I’m currently working up a new load with the Nosler long range hunter 168grain bullets. Good luck with your new 7mm!

I need help on a subject. I am avid long range reloader. I would like to discuss bushing versus mandrel resizing if you have time
@BoltActionReloading5 жыл бұрын
Do you have a specific question? I have had best luck with mandrel sizing.
@MsTrint5 жыл бұрын
@@BoltActionReloading Thanks for the quick response! I have a 338 Lapua, I us a Hornady match bushing .363 that gives me a neck tension of .03. First question would you recommend or agree that .02 (overall\in general) could produce better groups. Second, what mandrel set up should I buy to achieve .02 neck tension. Third, could I use a bushing that gives me .03 neck tension and then use the proper mandrel to bring back to .02 neck tension therefor that would be very little over working the brass. Fourth, if done (properly), can you anneal brass every time without affecting longevity 338 Lapua brass. The reason for all these question is, I am trying to accomplish a lower ES velocity due to most of our shots start at a 1000 and go out from there.
