The magneto Speed hanging off of the barrel moves you POI. It may cause the groups to spread. The load with the lowest ES and SD will give the best group. Once you have that, then you can play with tension and COL.

H1000 has been magic in my .300 Win mag and .300 Super Mag wildcat. I am surprised you do your accuracy testing with the chronograph on the barrel, I had poor results with that. Now I shoot for accuracy, and when I find a tight shooting i then check it with the chrono.

In my experience, H1000 is to the 300 WM what H4350 is to the 6.5 CM. In terms of these Satterlee tests, go back and watch the point of impact for each shot in the string. You will see that the shots generally fall into two groups with a wild shot or two. I would look to do follow up tests in areas where consecutive shots share the same point of impact and the velocities sit on a plateau. For example, shots 3-4-5 with RL-26, and shots 8-9 with H1000.

Military uses RL 22 with 190 MK I suggest try IMR 4831 and IMR 4350 200gr and heavier H4831. These have been go to powders for years in the 300 Win Mag

Hello, great channel. IMR4350 is actually the Sierra accuracy load at 67.4gr and it is Very accurate for 190gr SMK

N560 74.6- 75.2 is what I would check out. 74.6-74.9 Those are grouping together on your first test. I would definitely try those again. There is a node there.

I'M FAIRLY NEW TO RELOADING. H1000 IS MY GO TO POWDER FOR MY 300 WM, BUT RECENTLY I TRIED THE IMR 7977 ENDURON POWDER WITH BETTER RESULTS THAN THE H1000.

H1000 is hard to beat for any application that it is in the correct burn speed for.

One of the issues I am seeing, is you are not shooting a 3 shot group, with such and gun and barrel, anything beyond that will get you wild results, your first three shots were under an inch I believe. After that the barrel begins to heat up.

I've been doing testing on my TC Compass 300 Win Mag. It has taken a long time to find a high MV accuracy node, but this is where I'm at hovering around 1.2 MOA. Fired Hornady brass, bump shoulder 0.001' from 2.277'' to 2.276'', COAL mag max at 3.480'', CBTO 2.823'', 220gr ELD-X, H1000 76.5gr to 76.9gr, 2860 fps avg, no pressure signs, neck OD 0.340'' fired, neck OD 0.330'' after resizing die. 2850 to 2870 fps seems to have the best accuracy. Compressed charges.

The best group for me so far is the 208 amax that was discontinued, I will probably try the 208 ELD-M to see if it shoots just as well.

I’ve noticed that you aren’t usually too impressed with your group size. In doing a velocity string with each case having a different powder charge, I wouldn’t expect a tight group due to these differing charges. Nodes are a different story. I guess you just addressed group size in this video but I wanted to be sure I wasn’t missing something in your interpretation?

Yes especially for this rifle. The pencil barrel seems to be sensitive to harmonics so the initial velocities that we get along with the pressure signs is what I am looking for. Not always the case though, if you saw the 6mm creedmoor video a couple weeks ago we varied more than 300 fps and still kept 20 rounds in a 3/4 moa group. It has a heavier profile barrel. I love that rifle, but this is more of a challenge at this point.

Sierra doesn't have retumbo data for the 190 smk. I have used it plenty with the 220 smk.

I'd say start at max charge for 220 to use on 190 & work up maybe 2 more grain ? I love it in my 264 wm 68 with H129 sp, 3200 fps 1/4" @100 deer slayer. 129sst may do better @ 500-800 yards. Better BC
