Saw them on this tour at Sheffield city Hall, I always remember Tom Bailey popping out of that box at the beginning . Brings a tear to my eyes , back in the 80s when the world was a much better place .

This video is amazing 😍. It illustrates how much the 80s teens loved this group when you saw them arriving at their site to play and these kids absolute beside themselves. I am 58 years old this month November 2022 and I still and always will love the Thompson Twins. How I miss them!!

And me, I love them too and always will. Some of the happiest memories of my life are of the time I spent following them in the 80s and I made friendships that have endured ever since, thanks to them. Absolutely brilliant.

Same tour. April 20th, 1984, Stanley Theater Pittsburgh PA . . . same energy and enthusiasm from the crowd. This band was beyond the sound and scope of the New Wave era. The songs still sound amazing today, and when they performed live, they had an energy that you could feel through the floor at their shows. They were original. Infectious. Inspiring. So glad I got to see them as a young teen, and that I lived through their heyday.

Oh yes music instruments.....this is what real music and the 1980's are all about. Not the crap played in the 2020's today that focuses only on lyrics. Music will ALWAYS be about instruments introducing lyrics not the other way around. Anybody who thinks otherwise does not understand music. Anyway I am a 1980's DJ so I know what I am talking about. Everybody have a good day.....Enough said :o)

In recent interviews Tom Bailey stated Joe was the theatre man, responsible for the live choreography, Alannah was responsible for the fashion. Both Joe and Alannah closed the door on any more music performances and moved to what makes them happy. A great group, never to be seen again.
