Yeah. I understand a first run needed to be kid friendly, but a more serious version for adults would be nice. I just watched a review of Everything Everywhere All at Once and they were going on about the nice dark elements and the one they referenced was something you wouldn't have kids watch. Like, duh, a movie for families is not the same as a movie for older audiences and movies need bigger demographics than streaming shows.

Don't get it twisted. This was marvel's fault. Taika Waititi is behind some of the most intelligently funny movies of the past 10 years. The marvel formula of 3 jokes for every 1 minute of drama ruined this. If it wasn't directed by taika there would've been the same amount of jokes they just would've been WAY WORSE.

Marvel has this problem of reworking and updating their storylines during production, sometimes scripts are being written the day of because they wanted to throw something in, leaving the good stuff in the cutting room floor. It’s sad to see the way they treat their VXF workers constantly changing scenes giving them unrealistic deadlines and not paying them fairly not to mention the comic book writers and illustrators. It will all catch up to them, they are burning many bridges have been since phase one I just hope we get to see Secret Wars before it does

Yeah a Director's Cut is needed, i need more kills, and the transformation scene from Jane Foster. For me the "emotional" scenes of the God Butcher didn't hit as hard bc we bearly saw it, he was not scary for me, the battles were cool but since he was dying from having the sword, he wasn't really a threat to me.

I personally really enjoyed the movie. That being said, I did feel like I wanted to see more interactions between Gorr and other gods. We basically only got the one in the beginning with the sun god, and then mentions kf others, which then just lead up to him and the Thors at the end. Would've been cool to see him vs other gods as well, which also could have shown just how big of a threat he really was.

They used to just call it an expanded cut. Director cut should have changes to the story as well. I think what people are asking for is an extended cut of Love and Thunder and MoM. The extended and added scenes can sort of change the story sometimes too. But yeah expanded LoTR was awesome and just too long for the theatre. Having long versions to watch at home would be awesome.

Anyone want to bet this is going to be an ongoing strategy by Disney? Step 1, put out info of cut scenes. Step 2, build hype for a director's cut. Step 3, eventually release a "director's cut" with the scenes on Disney+ to help drive subscribers to the service without having to create a lot of extra content for the service overall.

Partially for me, I just see Disney producing as much content as they can in the shortest time for quick easy profits. I feel like they’re taking several ideas throwing them at the wall and seeing what sticks so they can grow on that. Like aim for that from the beginning, specifically design the movie to make sense in a condensed theater movie, but when u see the directors cut later, they drop a while lot of Easter eggs amd extras that completely transform everything, not just more sense, but so much more to the story. It's like an extra gift or surprise. The abridged and then the unabridged version. They would make alot more money with that and revive the MCU storytelling.

I thought of this before but now after watching the movie I’m sure that the living tribunal head from the gate to eternity was the same head that appeared in Loki just from a pruned universe. Maybe one where someone else got to eternity first, or one where Gorr used his wish to kill all the gods. Who knows?

After seeing this, it makes really sad that we didn't get a whole movie of Bale as Gor just moving around the universe, killing gods, horror movie style. Like I know he had to have a plot and everything but it'd be great to have seen him just move about, from one god to another who was JUST hearing about his exploits and brushing them off (like Zeus) then all of a sudden behind them you see shadows move or something. It isn't until Thor catches up with him that he finds out what his deal is and why he is doing what he is doing. Maybe he needs to "fill" the sword with power in order to crack open Eternity or something.

Both marvel movies this year could have been so much better if they didn’t limit them to a 2 hour runtime and let the directors have more time. It’s honestly pretty sad hearing how they had to rush some of this stuff to make the release date, I would have waited another 2-3 months without a problem meaning the movie would have been better. I love the movie. If you read Norse mythology, Thor is a bit thick in the head and does funny things. So his characterization is right. The goats are in his Norse stories and it was great to see them. The movie was so huge and bulging with performances and characters; Thor, Jane/Mighty Thor, Gor, Zeus, Axel, Valkryie, and Love. There just needed to be more movie. More god killing, more Thorbing, more romance, more about Valkryie, more about the city of the Gods, more about how Jane transformed, and more about the different realms and Gods that exist. It felt as though the movie had to be whittled down. What we got was good, but I would have sat longer for more.

I don't know what is going on... LaT and MoM should be at least 2.5h long. Does Marvel or (more likely) Disney think that people are unable to focus for longer than 2h? Is it the costs of putting more scenes? Or a backlog of CGI and VFX companies, so they are unable to finish some scenes? I don't recall the feeling "this movie should be longer" before MoM.

No ma'am so not true Taika Waititi butchered Thor's story and character. I'm familiar with The Norse mythology and Thor is NOTHING like this smh was that a joke? He isn't even like this in the comics smh he totally ruined a beloved character and made him a parody 😤

I don't love that movie. Of course I don't feel offended if someone else does. If you enjoyed it - great. While I think there is some good stuff in the movie (Christian Bale, for example), there also is a lot that doesn't work for me. Most importantly, Thor isn't a "fun" character in the comics. Of course someone can make him a fun character in a movie - they did the same with Batman in the 60s. But like many people who don't want a funny Batman or a funny Wolerine, I don't want a funny Thor.

Aliens : The directors cut is so, so much better as it gives more depth to Ripley's character, and you then get why the aliens comes through the ceiling, and not just through the doors.

they should release a couple of shorts on disney plus with gorr slaying a different god every episode

I liked what we got and I think it’s a good film but the thing I agree with everyone else is that there could have been more Gorr and his killings

Just because there are some great director’s cuts, it does not negate all the bad ones. Truly great director’s cuts are the exception-not the rule.

6:42 that looks like Pan to me, which would make much more sense than the devil. Might even have been a better fit than Zeus.

Every movie could have a director’s cut. We need to stop always wishing we had more and be satisfied with what we got. It was a great movie.
