The Aether is with "The Collector" guy now... Lady sif give it to him in the credit scene.. to keep it safe. And it is also powerful as Tesseract which is on Asgard. So they can't keep both at one place.

Loki helped save this movie. Malekith was a horrible villain and I agree the Dorky Elves weren't as menacing.

Um, just to clarify to ya guys. The red thing in the casing that Sif took to the collector at the mid-credits scene was actually the Aether itself. They presumably took it from Malekith after he died. Therefore, both the Tesseract and the Aether are both Infinity Stones.

Fun fact: Tom Hiddleston improved the "Ta-Da!" line. That moment was supposed to be completely silent, but Tom said that line because he thought that's something Loki would do: Boast.

In the original ending they filmed, LOKI actually died. However, just like your reactions, when they did the test screenings for the film the audience wouldn’t believe that he was actually dead. They all thought it was a trick and that Loki was deceiving them again. After seeing these reactions, Marvel decided to give the audiences what they wanted and did a bunch of reshoots to bring Loki back.

Thor and the others managed to retreat the Aether from Malekith’s body and brought it to the Collector, because it’s actually an Infinity stone, a very powerful source of power, and since the asgardians were already in posses of another Infinity stone, the Tesseract, it was safer to have them locked in separate locations.

Malekith T. Accursed and the Dorky Elves were not interesting villains. I agree Malekith is very weak, even with the Aether. I haven't seen a lot of people pick up that Mjolnir has a personality in this movie as it tries to get back to Thor's hand in the last fight. Mjolnir's personality was better than Malekith's. Aqeel, I can tell you like more grounded stories. To get the magical and mystical parts of the MCU you have to be able to suspend what we know about reality. But there is actual theory in each of these movies. These movies were crafted to fit like a puzzle. Puzzle pieces in a movie go forward into other movies and a movie will reach back for one of those puzzle pieces. Like many people, you are picking up on possibilities. Some you are wrong about, but others you are spot on with. No one will get every Easter Egg or piece of the puzzle the first run through watching all of these movies. When you watch these movies again, you will see these connective pieces and say, "Wow. I didn't see that before." That happened to me and I am familiar with but bot an expert in Marvel Comics. Part of the fun is trying to figure out. "what the Hell is going on hear?" One question I have is not necessarily about the ranking of these movies but about whether there are any MCU movies you don't like. Here I am not talking about a poorly written villain but the movie entire.

See, I'm also surprised they keep ranking it so low, but they mentioned in a previous video that their perspective on it is different than most longtime viewers. In our case, it's possible we keep it ranked so high because of nostalgia and what it means to us as the first movie that set the course for the entire MCU. They don't have that same attachment to it. It's a very interesting opinion in their case.

I think Hulk is the worst MCU movie with Thor 2 being the next worst. It's really only on rewatch that I disliked this Thor. I don't think of any of the other ones being anything but good.

I've been doing a rewatch of the MCU and this movie played so much better this go round. Can't say the same for Iron Man 3, easily the worst MCU film
