The thing is: Apart from the stupid jokes (ice-puns, Bat-credit-card...), it could`ve actually been an okay movie. Just cut out most of the jokes, and most of the neon-lights (which was also one of the main problems in Batman Forever), remove that gossip-lady, make Jim Gordon more competent, and it would be fine. Granted, it wouldn`t do justice to Bane at all, but the "jokes" (especially in B&R), and the neon-lights (in B&Rm and BF) were the most distracting things. Just imagine: Seeing Batman Forever without the neon, and including the deleted scenes (guards killed by Two-Faces), and various scenes in a different order... It could`ve been an actual sequel of Burton`s Batman.

yeah, the fact it was never even brought up for the CW to possibly acquire gotham and continue it in favor of batwahmen yet picked up supergirl when I believe it was NBC who deemed it too expensive (and tbh s1 is the only season I actually enjoyed), really tells all. See how bad they do at a knock-off Penquin given the umbrella showing at the end of S2. Cause Robin Lord Taylor and the "I love you" story involving Riddler on Gotham wasn't "woke" except ya know, they incorporated it to have actual weight and meaning-the feeling no one ever loved him besides his mother which was pretty true, or cared as much, possessive levels that led to abusive craziness, etc. Oh and how Penquin mocked him for the riddler name. Like it or not, it was developed well. Not just "reee imma lesbian." NO WONDER why they hate it so much.

Never got why it was broadcasted on fox and not a wb channel, but i guess they did so as for it to not be anything arrowverse involved and so people knew that. I'd imagine it's one of those scenarios where no one can do anything with it until a certain time passes. Suprised it even lasted that long given Fox's notorious love to cancel good shows. Not that I wanted it to go on forever but multiple characters seemed to only die because they didn't have an avenue to explore and they introduced too many in the final season when it could've easily been more focused on those existing OR went for Two-Face/Harvey Dent (the comics even have him be ok then go back to being messed up after plastic surgery, like he could've ended looking at the screen in the MJ thriller type way). The dark knight rises rip-off stuff bogged it down, and that final episode to me is bs, final episode is "trial of james gordon."

I'm sure the writers enjoyed having the scene of the cop foolishly walk in front of the RV to get driven over. Surprised they didn't put the RV in reverse to finish the job. So why couldn't Mary's special blood fight of the effects of turning her in to Poison Mary? Nice for Mary to still be loyal to her rewards card, when she just could have used mind control to get coffee for free. So easy to just write your resignation on a piece of paper and everything is passed over in a second. Didn't this show establish there is a board of directors? And where's the notary? Bridget Regan's agent couldn't find her a better gig? Fire this person.

I have always loved Poison Ivy as a character in comics and the animated series. Then I saw Batwoman and mourned the death of a once beloved character. People talk diversity. You have a WOMEN, who is a clear powerful but doesn't have to mention girl power ever 5 minutes, and openly at least bisexual from how she interacts with men and women. She was a female character done right. She was messed up and brutal but you understood her motivations as a person, and condemned her as a villain. That is the secret sauce for writing great female villians. Today, it's either trying to force the audience to 100% love a character (or you are a bigot), or 100% hate a character just because they are the villain, without making either of them relatable or take the time to let the audience appreciate what makes them tick. As a reader, and audience member, you can load up a scene with 100 no name overpowered villians with no backstory vs a scene with one very well defined villian with terrifying motivations and the means to beat the hero, and I will find that solo villian much more intriguing. Poison Ivy was that character for me.

This is what happens with characters in the Arrowverse. When they can’t find anything for that character to do, instead of writing them out like a real tv show and wishing the actor good luck, they find a contrived way to make them a comic character, hero or villain, with no prior connection to that character. Mary should have been booted once Jacob “What’d ya bring me?!” Kane was arrested. I’m genuinely surprised they haven’t made Alice into a female Joker at this point.

So, a female doctor who starts off the show as a good person on the superhero team but is then randomly turned into a super villain that has a split personality, fights the main hero for a while, but then gains some control of her senses and will go on as part of the team with a slit edge to her. Gee haven't seen that before. Actually, I have, I saw it on The Flash with Catilyn Snow five years ago, I know the Arrowverse likes to recycle character types and plotlines... so I'm actually not surprised.

I don't know what the writers think Poison Ivy is supposed to be, but they seem to be under the impression that it's some kind of force or entity that a person becomes the avatar for. Beats me where they come up with this, but maybe it's how they're getting around the contractual restrictions. They can't use the actual Batman villains, so they do crappy knockoff versions. Hell at this rate, it wouldn't surprise me if we never see Pamela Isley as Poison Ivy at all. When she shows up, she'll just be Pam because the show may not have the rights to use the real Poison Ivy or something.

Since they are screwing up everyone, Im thinking Harley might be next. An imperfect as the idea of Gotham was, there were many things they did in that show well. @@thoriasunlimited4053 Dear Thorias, Like the writers of this show, the answer to that is simple; gaining access to the Bat cave will be as difficult as the story needs it to be. The more I watch reviews of this show by yourself and others ( there is no way I'm wasting my own heartbeats), the more I'm convinced we are looking at a real life version of Springtime For Hitler. The real mystery is working out who benefits from putting out a show of any description that draws such poor numbers? The only thing I can think of is that the CW is doing this as some kind of contractual obligation. Here in the UK certain TV channels had to broadcast a certain amount of religious programming. My local network tried to get cute and made a 'religious drama,' entitled: Airport Chaplain. Like Batwoman, it appealed to no one, but at least they had the decency to drop it after 6 episodes. Another example of this is the once watchable Sci-Fi show, Dr Who. One of their biggest successes was a regular enemy of the Dr, known as the Daleks. Their creator, Terry Nation, established by contract that if Daleks did not feature at least once in every season of Dr Who, the BBC, who made the program, would lose the rights to use them again. I suspect that if he had lived to see the travesty the show has become, he would have torn up the paperwork. Cheers, Frank Berry.

The writing on this show really is strange. A woman who is a bartender/barrista becomes the president of a multi billion dollar company…not only that but the best president ever…(doesn’t the board of directors have any say? This president quits and hands off to another 20 something kid?) A valedictorian med student skips any residency training and opens her own practice right out of med school? Personally I don’t want my doctor straight out of med school, I want my doc TRAINED a little.
