I haven't seen long interviews with Alan Moore in the pass few years, so I don't expect him to do one.

There are actually a lot since "Jerusalem" got released. Most of them are podcasts however and not videos. Highly recommend the two part interview "Someone who isn't me". www.acast.com/someonewhoisntme/episode12-alanmoore-pt.1- www.acast.com/someonewhoisntme/episode12-alanmoore-pt.2-

Hey Thorin, I am studying Anglistics in Germany and in our culture class we are reading and discussing V for Vendetta. I wasnt much into comics, except Asterix when i was younger and your perspective really helped me getting a grasp on what I have in front of me. Thanks a lot!!!

38:00 I have never read comics, but I've decided to start reading them. This point in particular is something I value greatly. I read manga and is a huge fan of One Piece. Any reader would agree with me on this point, that Oda is fantastic at this. One Piece has run almost every week (40 issues of 20 pages a year on average) for 20 years now, and still Oda reveals things he has planned for 10 years or more. In the first chapter there is an event that was only explained 11 years later. It was clear that he had planned what it was, but also that it obviously changed a bit in nature over time. There is also a very important character introduced in 2010 who was foreshadowed 11 years earlier. Things like these are common with Oda and One Piece, which just blows your mind once you realise it. I look forward to experience comics. I'll start with Thorin's recommendations, so thanks for the, as always, outstanding videos on the topic!

I fucking love Alan Moore. The man should be an inspiration to everyone even if you don't like comics.

Also a completely genius "DC era" Alan Moore story comics fans should check out is "In Blackest Night" from Green Lantern Corps Annual #3. It's about a green lantern tasked with going to a planet in the deepest blackest lightless space to enlist a new green lantern from an alien race there. The ring translates the the sounds it makes, but it can't translate any word that has to color or light or any visual description which the aliens have no concept of. So to induct this new member she has to completely re-think and re-write the oath through sound analogy. It's fucking brilliant.

Alan Moore's captain britain comic is underrated in my opinion, it is seriously good.

Thorin have you read any of William Gibson's novels? The Peripheral, his newest, and the Sprawl trilogy would be right up your alley if you haven't already. I'd love to hear a video on his work but thanks so much for this one, Moore is a god

I also really like Alan Moore and think he is the best, great video. My comics writers Mount Rushmore is: Alan Moore, Warren Ellis, Brian K Vaughn, and Si Spurrier (Can be swapped for Grant Morrison but Si is just getting started)

Would you ever consider making a video about chess champions/getting into chess yourself? Really interesting meta, especially when you consider the differences between the moves a human would make versus those a computer would. A good topic would even be how computers could be used in more freeform sports like CS to improve decision-making and predict enemy strategies.

I'd say Harvey Pekar, Alan Moore, Frank Miller (*visually speaking), and Osamu Tezuka are the best storytellers in comics. Really in no particular order...Will Eisner gets an honorable mention too

Thorin I strongly suggest you check out the book Numbercruncher written by Si Spurrier with art by P.J. Holden. It's an incredible story and self contained. Check it out.

Hey Thorion or any other comic fans. What comics should i start with? I can imagine the experience is kinda wasted if i start with Watchmen. Like you said in the last comic video you need practice to enjoy a new medium.
