You see guys, from all the shit thorin said about Locodoco throughout the years some ppl would think he doesnt like Loco. Allthough that might be true, he's able to praise him when praise was DESERVED. Can you see the diference?...Thorin actually make comments based on something, he doesnt trash talk out of his ass like a lot of stupid ppl think, and he's able to recognize when someone is right. Another awesome video Thorin, keep it up.

Thoughts on why 2016 will be the best year for CS. I mean if it will be. But I certainly feels so. Luminosity trying to rise into the elite tier. Fnatic looking to maintain dominance. TSM choking as usual. NV trying to get their leader/coach/tactics shit together. NA... well... I don't know I just feel 2016 seems to be a very interesting year.

Living Lifeform The lost to Luminosity... and E-frag... They have now won a Bo3 against NV and TQM that hardly is enough to place them 2nd. It's only a few days, you don't rank a team based on that. And also this is their home tournament.

You should do a video on how you analyse demos. It would be cool to learn from an expert on what to look for in how teams and players play the game.

Dyrus bought ninjas instead of mercs into double AP. His reasoning was that he, in that game, was a low eco toplaner and simply could not afford boots as expensive as mercs and also had to gain armor from some sort of a cheap source. Regi's reasoning was pretty simple: double enemy AP = mercs boots no matter what.

One man immediately came into my mind when I saw the title but in terms of physical or traditional sports. Arrigo Sachi never played professional football but was a great, great manager. He won two successive European cups for AC Milan after earning his stripes managing in the lower leagues. Jose Mourinho also never played top level football but is now considered one of the best football managers in the world. Of course, in the eyes of the public, the people who actually played holds more stock since they were the ones performing on the stage. But as the great man Arrigo once said; "I never realized that in order to become a jockey you have to have been a horse first."

"In Game Leader"... look no further than Lemonnation. Mechanically, not as highly technical as many of the Supports he faced, but his management of comps and ability to understand the ever changing flow in game allowed him to best many who "1v1" would be considered better. I expect great things from him as a Coach now.

If we make the analogy with Hockey (NHL), Scotty Bowman is the greatest head coach of all time with a win record that will probably never be beaten and many championship won. He never played professionally. On the other end, Wayne Gretzky is one of the greatest player that lived, but yet did pretty miserably coaching wise.

I get this a lot when I play matchmaking. I'll get matched up with a smurf and try to correct them on something or call out a poor play and they blow up at me, how could somebody so low rank (I play at like a DMG level when I'm current) try to tell a Global Elite that they've done something wrong? How could I possibly think I know better than them? I'm the kind of guy who identifies most closely to your description of the expert, though clearly not at your level. I have multiple Global Elite friends who ask me theory crafting questions all the time because they know that's my area of expertise. No, I don't play the game well, but I'll be dammed if I don't completely understand why.

The biggest issue for me personally is if a person doesn't show proper respect to a Pro player. Thorin is wicked smart and knows his stuff but in csgo personalities tend to clash. I am reminded of an example from other pro sports like basketball were you have a group of 4 annalists talking about the game during halftime. Two of them are X pro players with championships under their belt and the other two are smart life long fans of the game. Both bring great opinions to the table but ultimately in my opinion the ex pro will always have a better understanding of the game because he went through the process instead of just theory crafting. Sorry for improper grammar and connotation, still working on english.

It's simply. Look at the NFL. The NBA. The MLB. How many of those COACHES were great PLAYERS? Very few. Some, yes... but most, no. There is a difference in understanding and breaking down something, and actually DOING the Craft. There are a great many that are VERY GREAT at what they do in a given position... like a QB in the NFL... that can't Coach a lick, or couldn't break down the game from an OVERALL standpoint.

Anyone can be right about anything, what matters is what they say. But the degree of trust you give a stranger is their credibility, and if you're a pro player, you appear more credible at first glance than someone who doesn't play

Your analogy is flawed in a few ways. The discussion is that between people who can play the game at a very high level and those who can not. Dyrus and Loco both play the game at high levels so you're picking 2 people from the same pool. Besides, Dyrus is probably one of the least cerebral people out there, at least in the way he presents himself. Personally I believe that there are things you pick up in practise that you never would have otherwise regardless of how much theory you cram into your brain. The best expert would probably be a good mix of both.
@Leminster8 жыл бұрын
I don't understand. He talks about pro players and expert and how both their views bring something to understand a game. But then he only takes examples of formers pro players that turned coaches or expert. What about the experts with no top lvl ingame experience ? Are they to be considered the same as former pro players that turned expert ?
