The scout was used for really cheesy rushes since it actually gave you 260 movespeed in both 1.6 and Source(which is more than the knife, a supposed maximum). You could actually get into position a few seconds faster than you really should. It also allowed you to make jump you usually couldn't(which is why a lot of surf maps in CSS give you a scout).

Saboton _ Before the patch, having AWP = never buy nades. But now, as it is needed to use more nades, like flashes to steal the corner. With AWP, you could play so aggressively without using nades. WHOLE IDEA OF THE NERF WAS TO MAKE MORE USAGE OF NADES!

I like your insights as a newbie to the CS series, but I would hope you would try and turn up your mic's volume in future videos. Some thoughts: Smokes need to be nerfed slightly like maybe -1.5 to 3 seconds Flashes need to be stronger? CZ can be a game changing weapon, I would rather they kept the old drawing animation, made it slightly faster than it is now, like 0.4-0.8 seconds? Mollys should have a longer time before it goes off, but not to the point where you can throw them across the map into CT/T spawn etc. Probably more weapons and grenades should be fine, to add variety to the game. For eg, some kind of Spike Grenade(tentative), and probably add a HE grenade that takes longer to detonate, as the current one kind of detonates too fast for me.

Counter Strike should really be played with Chargers Only rules (CO rules), the only reason "we" had to use Max Rounds rules (MR rules) was because of the terrorist attacks in 2001. The sponsors and tournaments were afraid that if the rules would be that only terrorist side would get "points" it would be offensive and maybe politicians would ban CS tournaments. So they used MR12 instead. But very shortly they realized that was just way too random, lose both pistols and it was over, so they had to change to MR15, and now they realized thats a little random aswell, so now they play best of 5 maps or whatever. taking forever... You can ofc use "best of x" maps with co rules. The benefits of CO rules is _ALOT_ : 1. more action - which gives more room for good players to shine and become more popular. 2. You dont need to worry about maps being too CT dominated - you can play any map, like aztec etc, awesome map that any newbie can learn just by watching games. Because you only count the T side anyway. 3. Character of the games - You can instantly remember special games just by the hearing the numbers e.g. 3-2 game would mean that both sides plays amazing CT sides and the result is very rare, we would remember the games alot more like in other sports when unusual results happens, with MR rules, a 16-14 game means nothing, happens all the time... 4. Way more exciting games - some of the best games has been in the early era with CO rules, and like previous point the games would be more memorable and have their own "character". 5. Easier for organizations (tournaments) - since all games are 2x20minutes, it will be much easier to schedule the games, atleast in the groupstage where there is usually no overtime etc. i could probably list more stuff but these are the ones i can come up on top of my head right now. For those who don't know CO rules, it is basically a 20 minute game played both sides (2x20min). And you only count the Terrorist rounds. With the timel-lmit the last few minutes will allways get very exciting and you simply don't need to worry too much about maps etc like listed above. Since T side is all that matters anyway (in terms of getting points). And it makes sense, since T side is the "offensive" side, and CT is the "Defense" side... Many people think that the strategies would be different and everyone would just rush every round. But that's not true, only the newbies used that strategy. The strats would be similar as today.

xModernRanger both sides still matters. if u have a really good ct side (defense) then it means the other team wont be able to collect as many rounds. wich makes it easier for your t side when swich teams. Makes it much easier to play more different maps as "ct-dominated" maps doesnt matter as much as before (still matters but not as much).

1 thing i think would make it less CT-sided is that you make the round last longer, now i think it is 1min45sec so if you incresa it to forexampel 2min or 1min50sec i think it would both make the smoke less good and give T more time to get pics

oh and, smokes could last less i guess, i'd say 5-6 seconds, but with some wider areas on maps like inferno, this might not be as bad, what would be nice is for flashes to be a bit more punishing, at the moment only pop-flashes work well, with closed-skyboxes, and slightly more punishing flashes, getting flashed directly should be very costly, and even turning 180 for a flash should still deafen you, and cause the "transparent image" effect for 1-2 seconds, atm avoiding flashes is so easy this could make pop flashes more viable, but only if the skyboxes are closed. another idea, the right-click throw for flashes should make the flash trigger faster, so that after it hits the ground it takes 1 seconds to bang, this would allow more pop-flashes to surprise people

I think flashes are also a factor, since you can't rely on them to actually blind the cts like you could in 1.6 and especially source.

My main thought is the scouts accuracy while jumping. It is way too overpowered on CT Mirage at B site, since i saw adreN's video on the server and client side of the hit box while jumping, if i shoot somebody that is jumping with a scout, it looks like im shooting them but i get no hits. I have to shoot through the little ledge thing to actually do damage, but by then they could have easily headshotted me and maybe even a teammate.

I think you don't bring up another point where the CTs don't even have to hold angles. peelers advantage works even more insanely for them because they can hide and repeek and hide and repeek etc.. while the terrorists might just be out in the open. you can't wall bang to the same degree either so it's not like a ct would get punished for quickly peeking and missing a burst

Everything I hate about this game summed up pretty much. I used to play on 1.6 for eg/col and I find it insanely frustrating trying to play GO. I would love so much to play in a serious competitive manner but I find the game to be so little fun because of a multitude of reasons. I hope to see the game changed for the better in the future.

Why is it CT sided you ask? It's not. They only play defuse maps, which are CT- sided. If they played hostage rescue it would be T sided.

The thing about CT though is that it punishes a lopsided team, meaning its incredible hard to play CT if your team relies on 2-3 people, where does 2-3 people have no problem carrying T cause your moving in 1 tight unit. I think thats also kinda where the balances comes in and shows that counter strike is a team game, cause the strongest CT sides have everyone contributing.

@8:50 he goes on about the scout, but it goes deeper then he mentions. Jumping hitboxes are broken and have been broken since source. This is an issue because not only is it hard to hit a jumping target, but it becomes nearly impossible when you have to shoot his feet to get a headshot. Anyways, more to the video, I think cs:go is more ct sided mainly because of the pistols. They are significantly more powerful in cs:go. Being a CT, you can control the engagements, so if you have a pistol all you have to do is play some super close/ weird angle and it's basically a free kill because up close cz/p250/5-7 is better than the AK no question. You don't even need to stop, just do a drive by with the cz/5-7/p250 and it's a one shot headshot. The fact that "drive by" has become a term in cs really bothers me. This isn't COD, and the mechanics that make cs great(ie stopping to shoot accurately) shouldn't be changed.

I didn't watch this but CT side will always have the fundamental advantage of being on the defensive. You generally get to your position faster, which results in you spotting the enemy first, which then results in you being able to take the first shot. Taking the 1st shot is a huge advantage, and at the higher levels, 1 shot is all it takes to kill someone. I don't play CS:GO but I was in CAL-I,/CPL back in the old original CS days... but even if you never played the game, it should be obvious that the CT side would always have that basic tactical advantage.

i believe its CT sided because of the absence of wallbangs and more narrowed funnel like corridors. add in the angles a player model shows around the corner in relation to distance from corner. makes it more CT sided

I think CS:GO is a little too CT-sided as well, the only thing the CTs really gotta fear are: 1. Rushes, and 2. Peeking too much, but they are way too easily to prevent. #1 Is just a molotov/smoke, and #2 is just CT's not being silly and for instance NOT be peeking from garage->yard on nuke when the CT only got M4. This is what i think would make the game a lot more balanced 1. Wallbaning - The consistency of wallbanging right now is ridiculous, you dont deal enough damage - or you deal too much damage, as well as the wallbanging wont work 95% of the time. For instance: On Mirage you dont really have too many places too wallbang, you can shoot through connector and to B apps, not really a whole lot more you can do, these wallbangs are very CT sided anyways which makes it even harder for the terrorists. I tested with AWP on Nuke, and through the wall from ramp->radio room you deal 6 damage i think it was with the awp (HS), thats really fucking stupid. Increased wallbang consistency would make the game a lot more fun, I remember when people wallbanged on 1.6 tournaments, it was so exciting and fun to watch! On T-roof on Nuke you can spray through the glass with an AK47 and hit their legs/chest and they will die pretty fast with very low chance of escaping. 2. Duckjumping - Duckjumping was pretty silly in 1.6, i liked the way you could peek awpers much more safely than you can in CS:GO, but the fact that you could spam it 24/7 wasnt that great. I'd love it if they made it possible to duckjump, but not continously 24/7. Like you could maximum do it once every 6 seconds or so. 3. Smokes - There are several things that can be tweaked here, but not all at once. #1 Reduce how long the smokes last #2 Increase the transparency of the smokes so that they may actually need to stack smokes, or so the smoke get a few open spots in it every third second or so. #3 The smokes start fading at once they pop, so when they are 3/5 done (or something) the width of the smoke is halved. #4 You can actually blow the smoke away with grenades or something, this is very interesting (but very silly)because then the enemy have to choose: Do i want to get rid of this smoke at once, and "waste" my grenade or do i want to wait out the timer and save my grenade for later? 4. Pistol round tweak - In the pistol rounds the armor is different. Its cheaper (for instance 400$) - but its also weaker. This would do so that the glock doesnt need 10 hits in the chest to take a person down, but it wouldnt change the fact that headshots are much more superior, it would make rushes a lot more easier for the terrorists the first round. This would probably need a lot of tweaking before it would get perfect. What do you think Thorin? What do you think guys? Anything you would add, or any of these you disagree on? *P.S im a Global Elite so you cant really bash me and say i dont know what im talking about, these things arent perfect - and some of these are opinions (like the wallbanging part, some people might find it anti-fun).*

m4a4 is just as good. M4A1 has a weird spray pattern and way too few bullets, and once you learn recoil, there is no different between the accuracy of either. It really depends on your play style.

laber mich nicht zu sure it does, there are 2 major competitive modes, highlander and 6s (6v6) that are played on LANs and big events. In total there are round about 6 gamemodes which are played in cups etc. Each mode has many metagames and beautiful strats to it. Imo tf2 is really overlooked as an esport since it has much diversity and theory to it.

I think something you failed to consider was spammability.. Being able to spam into common spots with the AK or AWP as a terrorist could seriously limit the options for defenders on CT side.

We also have the momentum that the ct teams get from starting as ct. I mean you are pretty confident if you are up 12-3. If the other team loses the pistol they are pretty much fucked.

I'd have to say I have to disagree with the m4-A1s (and the m4-a4, and i'll get to that) being better at close range than the AK47. The AK suits both experienced and novice players at close range. The novice can just spray, and if the crosshair isn't perfectly placed, the inconsistency of the spray corrects the error. The silenced m4's spray is so tight that if you're not spot on you're going to miss. A more experienced player would know how to control the AK spray and being the much more powerful weapon would take down a player much faster than its CT counterpart. The m4-a4 is a lot like the AK in the spray and pray factor, and also when it comes to the wide area where the bullets go. It is however a weaker gun. It's the AK's little brother and I'd prefer and AK every time. I do agree with the m4-a1s being more effective at medium range.

i think the scouts really need to be changed, the jumping accuracy just has to dissapear, this is not fucking cod, it just ruins the game in my opinion, also, the movement speed of the weapon is retarded, it didnt make sense in 1,6 either, but atleast it was never used, now that the scout is a decent alternative as a cheap sniper rifle, its speed should match an ak/m4, and the scoped speed needs to be fitting, maybe just a tad faster than the awp, but not this retarded fast scoped speed, the damage is fine, it feels like a sniper rifle, you can one-shot armored players at ~70%hp, which is good. as far as pistols, i like what csgo attempts to make every weapon usable, so i think at the moment pistols are good, and the fact that you can attempt to do armor-pistol rounds for economical damage is a good idea, althow sometimes armor pistol can take down weapons really easily, this might just be a problem with playstiles, however i do think the fall-off damage of the usp/p2000/glock needs to be decreased a bit at range a way to fix this minor issue would be to increase the fall-off for pistols and smgs, so that at long range these weapons do way less damage, so you should not be able to get 2-shotted by a p250/cz/tec9 at long range shotguns are fine, altho i would like to see the sawed-off buffed a bit, it's a cheap, close range cannon, it should feel like one, also i think all shotguns should have longer range, but more fall-off, the sawed off is kinda dumb you cant even hit players at medium range, it should hit them, but just do crappy damage, the xm could be changed in a way to make it slightly viable, 4 rounds, 16 shells total , at a cost of 1900 or 2000 would be good. the swag-7 needs to be nerfed a bit, the damage is just too high on body shots, the jumping accuracy is fine i guess, it could be decreased just a bit, but then the T's also need a good jumping shotgun, i propose the sawed-off, it looks light, it should feel light. aimtagging needs to be increased, it needs to be closer to 1.6, spraydowns against eco should be way more effective the maps are fine i guess, with some proper gun changed, the game could be balanced enough so the current maps are still decent nuke needs a revamp asap, i propose crouching vents, and less space to hide in upper, ideally only heaven, no more running across rafters as much, at all, just heaven, one single peeking position current revamped train is fine i guess, hard to say, we will just have to see more games i guess overpass feels ct sided, could use better rotations for T inferno, this map is just stupid because of the smokes, i propose a wided banana and mid area and for all maps, NO MORE NADES OVER SKYBOXES....this is just retarded, i'd say keep the over-head flashes on dust2 B site, but for inferno it's just retarded to always have smokes cover banana from 10 positions, it should require rotators to throw smokes

And they shouldnt do anything to the scout, just raise the price to like 2300$ ish, so you cant buy after loosing the first round, And the hitbox is pretty messy on it when you jumpshot, maybe fix that aswell. with the peekers advantage being so strong in cs:go, its weird that the ct side should be so strong. they should nerf the peekers advantage somewhat, and make cs a game of holding angles again

it's the overall engine which affects this game. coming from 1.6 to csgo everything feels bulkier and kids who hit these shot or get kills in csgo would never come close to killing someone in 1.6. 1.6 takes into account movement, gameflow, and rifle control. csgo on the other hand always a newb to kill someone 10x better than them. hard to explain, but i feel it's the overall engine.

The whole sided debate really doesn't have an impact in low tier, such as Gold Nova 1 or Silver 4. People don't really know how to use advantages so just play their best on either sides. People still complain even though they don't understand what makes the map sided.

dsafadsddfca I guess, but we aren't MM plebs if we play the hostage maps, at least not all of us. There's a small but extremely competitive community playing the reserves. I'm glad to be a part of that community. Even tournaments with prize pools have been set up for these maps.

Because it's a highly intensive competitive game, even if it's slower than let's say Quake, you can feel the blood pumping through your veins when you're clutching etc. and aggression is just part of it how to release the tension, at least in my opinion ;)

T:s can just use smokes, HE granades or Molotovs against OP camp spots and throw flashbangs to steal the corner. Also, one site never has over 3 players in one round, making it 5-4 versus 1-3. Site retakes are T sided, as CT:s do not waste money for same nades that T:s used to take the site. CT:s also have less powerful weapons, making it more fair fight, as T:s can one hit kill on headshot, While CT:s have to shoot twice. This neutralizes the peaker's advantage, due even when peaking, T:s have to only shoot once. Conclusion: You are over reacting, like everytime. You see these things only from bad side, so you get more watches.

Lol, many of the "pros" in 1.6 are either not top level anymore or haven't been top level when they played 1.6. Having played Source for the past 8 years and only 2 years of 1.6 before that. So coming from Source, the slow does feel bad sometimes.

bro i like them vids, but just take the smokes as an example: i bet u never even knew that they last 15 seconds. and now in this video ur saying they should last like 6-8 seconds? i dont want the time on that to be reduced. if people dick around for the whole rounds and have only 25 seconds left to execute and they havent wasted the enemy smokes even, well screw them then. obv misplayed by the t's. people are talking about b on inferno and blaah how the entire team got 5 smokes so u practically cant execute b if they toss their smokes there and what not. well if they can use 5 smokes all on one spot on the map, dont u think the t's have done smth wrong then? fine, maybe reduce the time they are up. but reduce it to like 12-13 seconds, not 6-8. and not even mentioning the mollys? i just dont think that theres much refined t site plays at the moment. look at HE nades and their use today.
