Hate to disagree with you but Mads Mikkelsen understood how to portray the same romantic feelings without it being so in your face. An actor that truly understands their character knows how to rely more on subtle nuances. There are unfortunately problems with Hopkins performance as Dr Lecter. He's too animalistic in nature. Which might have worked great for the movies but didn't quite capture the reservation and sophistication of the character in the books

This series is past due for a continuation but unfortunately Hopkin is too old for the role and I do not think any attempt without him will be successful.

mario siaven hate to sound like a broken record, but again, Mads nailed it as Lecter, as did the rest of the cast, writers, producers, editors, directors, and cinematographers.

God Almighty, the Creator was manifest in the flesh. He came into the world to take away the sin of the world. He gave up his own life to save yours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for your redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. This is the Gospel which means the Good News. Those that reject redemption will go to hell. John 1:1-3,10 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] The same was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. [10] He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. Isaiah 44:6 KJV Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. Revelation 1:17-18 KJV And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: [18] I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. Acts 4:12 KJV Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. John 5:24 KJV Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Matthew 28:19-20 KJV Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

The best part of this scene, missing from here, is when Lecter says, "Would they give you a medal, Clarice, do you think? Would you have it professionally framed and hang it on your wall to look at and remind youof your courage and incorruptibility? All you would need for that, Clarice, is a mirror. " He lets his guard down, just for a second, and you realise he loves her. The book is different.

+pavle vivec SPOILER: Hannibal couldn't live beyond what happened to his sister Mischa. In that short chapter in the book he told Clarice: "And so I came to believe that there had to be a place in the world for Mischa, a prime place vacated for her. And the best place in the world was yours". Clarice realized that he is denying himself to live and have a female companion in life (Clarice) because he feels obligated toward Mischa, so he stopped himself from looking at Clarice as he would have if Mischa was alive, instead he treats Clarice as a sister, he supports her, he protects her and look after her. In a previous analysis of Clarice, Hannibal told her that there is room in her for her dead father to live thru her incorruptibility & integrity, so why can't there be a room in him for Mischa? "She and I could be like sisters" Clarice told him. So she confronted him and offered him an idea, that Mischa could live in him instead of finding a living host for her. Finally, she remembered something he said to the senator from Silence of the Lambs and compared it to what's he doing to himself and offered him a place in her life but not as he intended (a big brother or a father) but rather as a man which he's been denying himself all along from the moment he met Clarice and felt attracted to her.

They asked her to return. She refused. They most certainly did not want to replace Jodie Foster. But more than that, they did not want to replace or kill off the character of Clarice.

Jodie Foster felt this version of Hannibal was MUCH TOO VIOLENT for her taste that was her reason for turning down the role that got her a 2nd Oscar.My question to her would have been what did she think it was going to be about.

Hiw does it end in the book??? 😯
@jays88358 жыл бұрын
If you want to read the book, I shouldn't tell you - it will ruin it for you. It's an ending difficult to digest from only watching the movies. It will only make sense when you understand it in the context of both "Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal"....
@Scully8188 жыл бұрын
+M. Luisa M. The director asked are you married to the ending the author said no and the director them asked his permission to write this ending and he liked it . I'm not spoiling
@m.luisam.54848 жыл бұрын
Scully818 Oh wow. Lol That's daring. I saw that there was an alternative ending that ends in a different way. He does the same thing up until the kiss. He kisses her and she doesn't handcuff him to herself. So he says "Bye." and leaves. Search it up. The video is titled "Hannibal Alternate Kiss".

I never understood why he didn't just cut the chain. I mean if the cleaver could cut through bone it could cut through metal at well.
@jackwhite38208 жыл бұрын
Not that I have tried it, but I highly doubt you would be able to cut through the chain of hand cuffs with a cleaver. Bone is not that though, its consistency is more like that of hard wood. Plus a wooden table, or even the thin sheet metal fridge, is not a suitable base layer either, the chain would mostly subside into the weaker material, making it very hard to cut through the chain.

@Elena-jj6eb3 жыл бұрын
It’s not a tear. You’ll see it falls from ABOVE his eye if you look closely. It was either water that dripped off the knife, or it was sweat. Or maybe it was a bad attempt at a fake tear on the directors part
