Congrats to this guy! Thorns is a fun setup and I made one specifically for Tormented Duriel, but that's about all it can do reliably. I avoid the Pit because you simply can't kill a lot of the bosses with thorns without a massive struggle.

facetanking everything should come with a malus in dps, and not be available for the highest dps class in game but barb is first in everything: dps, tanking, mobility, unstoppable uptime

Yeah I love thorns and always start off every season with a thorn build but it is very situational. Plenty of times I sat around for like 2 minutes just waiting for one mob to kill himself from hitting me. And if the mob is doing magic forget about it. Some attacks don’t even do damage back to the mob.

This^ I’m dealing with the same thing. A lot of the gear requires damage and strength stats. Only the rings and Amulets have the Resistances to all elements. Even with all Royal Diamond it’s not enough. I switch to a specific Gem for more boost in resistance praying they don’t have that suppressor on.

You could use the ring that applies rend so u don't need to have rend on ur skillbar. And be sure to use that passive skill so ur thorns apply bleed dmg

With the “aspect of giant strides” you can reduce your leap cooldown by 9 seconds when hitting a boss. So if your leap cooldown is 9 seconds or less then you have instant cooldown and can spam leap on the boss

Thorns is horrible against bosses that don’t summon mobs.. Took me a whole 10 minutes to kill the boss in pit 108 before that patch.. it was rather depressing. Plus your gears would need to be perfect for it to even do that kind of damage.. 😢

Idk why y'all are attacking this guy he's not wrong. Obviously the best in slot gear will give you the highest pit runs. But I don't think thats what he was saying. Pretty sure what he meant is that these kind of builds (just like flay barb) need to be min maxed more than other builds to properly do damage. When instead you could have a slightly less min maxed bash barb build (just an example) and be doing almost as much damage with half the mid maxing lol

they need to cap the number of earthquakes you can benefit from at once, with regard to aspects, talents, skills, and paragon powers. nerf pls. Rumble glyph is EXTREMELY overtuned. I can only have 10 or 15 twisters, w/e the cap is it's one of those 2 numbers, but Rumble glyph abusers have no Rumble glyph cap they must obey? Ridiculous lol. No other glyph can give 200% (3x) damage... ONLY THIS ONE. WHYY????????? I hate your horrible balancing, Blizzturd. This is the same garbage as with Bash. Bash cleave temper is behaving in a way no other temper in the entire game behaves, so it's CLEARLY a major outlier, and yet Blizzard does nothing about it. -_-

That's similar to Diablo 3 greater rifts, especially near the top end. Almost all rifts had to be fished and then the bosses had to be the correct one. Not that it's awesome, just... typical.

Thorns is too gimmicky and doesn't work on console... Bleed Bash can't do single target and if you get certain bosses its a brick...Flay takes years to kill adds and can't even do speed runs... I miss that overall build or we desperately need loadouts...

You can do it on controller, you just have to flick the movement stick while locked onto boss between leaps

@@caseyabend2195 mybe its a skill issue but I could not pull it off to jump like him. It was jumping all around for me. I followed the guide but for me it was better to use hota and ancient oath after every jump in this way I got 11 stack +90% so it's almost equal to this 20+ stacks.

not only that, but as someone who has played thorns all season and finally broke down and bought a 1 GA Razorplate, still no Doombringer, this build doesn't come online until you have this crazy gear. I have gone through so many GA items that just would never land a Thorns while Fortified Temper AND an imposing presence. I have had bad luck with those tempers. I think all of these influencer builds are bad for casual players. I am realizing that unless I play all the time, and in groups, amass enough gold to spend billions on triple GA items (quad in the case of Razorplate), better off just making up my own build and having fun. Otherwise, the gear dependence becomes frustrating with limited playtime. Honestly spending more time with Sea of Thieves these days.
