Thank you for watching all 3 of these, they were places that I really wanted to go, and the only thing better than actually going there is the fact that I get to share it with you. So thank you for caring! See you very soon x

Tears flowing. What impresses me most is your true appreciation for what you experience. The few seconds at the beginning of the video when you were at the overlook of Lake Como from above and you bowed your head in awe and thankfulness is super impressive. Always love your music, your pace, and from a fellow traveler who have been to many of these places, your captures are unique. Your posts always touch my heart. Sincere thanks, Tom.

Tom, there is just something so charming about these videos. The music you use, the editing and most of all your personality really come together to make these amazing. I couldn't stop smiling the whole video. Glad things worked out for you on this trip. Can't wait to see the next one.

I love your videos Tom, they are my guilty pleasure right now. Your English reserve, as well as joy in the right moments with hands on head in amazement along with a gleeful grin make me both want to see more of your videos but I am right there in emotion with you at that moment. These are places I want to see as well wanting to travel there, your reserved approach but steadfast solo passion is just the way I want to approach travel. The reason I watch to, is your an Englishman, whose name is my granddads he was Tommy. You also look like my son with the glasses, demeanour and confidence to go after it. So I feel it's like your my grandad and son all in one travelling the world. Michael Palin and Simon Reeves comes to mind with your swagger, the loaf of bread eating in the laneway post purchase was brilliant as well as the coffee being to hot. You past video with the sounds inserted at the end was very Monty Pythonesque. I love the food being whipped out mid trail right out of the package with a water bottle in hand refilled being consumed. Add encouragement, appreciation and love of your content, right here in a box to take at your leisure for more videos just as you are. The fact that you are vegan an animal lover and budget conscious helps immensely as well. Love from Canada here. Waiting for content and merch here to go with my Tim Tracker shirt. "Thornton Trails" or "Tails" sounds great on a fashion friendly biodegradable hemp shirt. Sincerely a fan Gina

I love your good attitude about things not going according to plan. As a planner, I can be a real baby when things don’t go the way I imagined. This is a good reminder that it’s all part of the fun, and that’s where the best travel stories come from. Your wonder of the moment and appreciation for all you encounter is always a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing your journey.

Tom, you've really found your style with these videos. I have so many memories of all these areas. I worked in Germany as an Engineer, and have visited a lot of these places. Lake Como area is actually famous for steel forging!

"I think if everywhere you went fulfilled and lived up to everything that you have in your mind for it, it would be boring and if your perfect story gets ruined in a pointless and meaningless silly little way like that, I just think that's funny. It's good fun. So I'm glad." - Now everyone please take this away with you into your next week.

I like this type of travel vlog as it's the kind of trip I might actually do for myself. Exotic places in Asia or South America are all nice and aspirational but planning something closer to home is much less stressful. Also Europe has plenty of beautiful nature and sights and taking trains is much gentler to the environment (and my anxiety) than going on a 10 hr flight.

that's true :) I'm glad if you found it useful for planning your own trip!

@@thornton To give something back, have you visited any forest cemeteries in Germany? I can recommend the ones in Munich and Stuttgart. The idea of visiting cemeteries might seem weird at first (though my first instance of seeing people jogging in cemeteries was in the UK so perhaps not) but it's a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and it's much less busy than most parks.

There was a sign at the crossroads in Switzerland that pointed toward "Schmitten." Well, I was pretty smitten by the scenery in this video, for sure. What an incredibly beautiful part of Europe! Congrats for thinking on your feet on the first day when the hike went a bit sideways. You pulled out a great trip -- and a great video.

What an amazing weekend trip!! Stunning views even if the whole trip did not always go to plan. Sometimes things work out better. What is not to love about a free trip across Lake Como!! Your filming in Switzerland was so wholesome as well as your reflection about the people (and dogs!) you met on your trip.
