Aye also a welder at my shop said you can send them back to thorogood and they will make them look brand new for $100 !! For that old pair !!! Might wanna look into it.

*Update* after having these for a few weeks I ended up returning them cause they are terrible for my feet. I got a 10 wide and they feel so tiny and it was killing my pinky toes. The left boot came not all the way attached at the back seam. Very sad because I absolutely love the style of these boots but they are not made like other thorogoods and that is saddening. I will be going with the 6 inch 814 in black when I get another pair when I get my refund. I love thorogoods and will stand by them but not the midnight series hopefully they will make them like the 804 3600 cause I wear thise to work and I can stand in them for 18 hours and feel just fine and I can't do more than 4 hours without being in total pain.

There is a video of a guy who took a brand new pair and treated them with acetone to take off the protective layer of wax ….. ?? Whatever they are using. But then dyed them black….. and pink for the white parts….. I would have personally went 100% black. But they looked tough. Might wanna check it out !!

I've worked years in construction and machining facilities, became a certified cnc machinist I've worn my fare share of boots on job sites. I now work at a local fly fishing shop and will be purchasing these boots. Although that sounds like a hipter. Fly shop, boots and a flannel 😂

I went online to double check the care and seen the BLACK….. everything I own is black….. even my car…. Black everything….. I’m fucking jealous of the midnights. Harley boots are the most uncomfortable! I’m a chick, work in the oil industry. Now I’m in front of a computer but when I was in the field I wore ariat composite toes. I am guilty of wearing Frye or my Docs when I ride. Never looked at Thorogood before. High quality, and love they’re made in the US!

From thorogoods moc toe ($250) to red wing moc toe ($320) to nicks ($400) you get what you paid for. All American hand made boots. It’s like comparing a Hyundai to a Lexus to a tank. If you’re not working on a hard core outdoor manual labor job, thorogood is fine, if you’re working in an office no need to get farming boots. I been in the us army since 2010, soldiers will get rid of their basic training hot weather boots (made by various manufacturers like Belleville, rocky, bates, Altama, etc… all commissioned by the government to make the same boot) as soon as they are allowed to buy sneaker boots. Me on the other hand, I kept buying basic hot weather boots because they last 5 years of daily military wear for $90 at the px. I think it’s tacky to wear military gear in civilian attire so I bought thorogoods and I find them just what I wanted. If you want a beater work cheap boot, you might want to check basic army boots. But for style American heritage boot, thorogoods all the way.

I’d hardly call Thorogoods a handmade in America boot even Danner admits their USA line, same price point, is shipped over in kits for final assembly. It’s a mass production boot that barely hits the line for the legalities of “made in the USA, the way so many watches that get to say made in Switzerland when it only final assembly, the rest manufactured in China. I’ve been to White’s, Nicks, and Frank’s, those are actually hand made. If a person wants Thorogoods or Redwings for fashion then great. I’ve owned both Midnights and ‘57 Flyways and they barely last a year in the machine/fabrication shop and personally wouldn’t waste money on either.

Hey I appreciate that! Honestly I returned them after 2 weeks theu never broke in for me and they just hurt my feet and felt very narrow. I wear a 10.5 ee and with that they were still narrow and crushed my pinky toe. I wanted to love them but I simple couldn't and they are not for me. I have had 2 pairs of thorgood 804-3800 and I absolutely love this model they are comfy right out of the box and my feet are not easy to please lol. If you dont have wide feet issues I'd get them but for me personally they killed my feet 😒

In other boots EE feels good out the box and then when I break them in they feel loose, D feels very snug out the box but after break in it feels comfortably snug? But then on some days my feet swell up quite a bit and that bothers me some. The 804-3800 would be my next pair since it sounds like the midnight edition isn’t for me. Why are the 804-3800 $30-$40 pricier than a 814-4201!?? My guess is that it’s a more popular color way so they just mark it up because they can

They are not like the other thorogoods I ended up returning them they were the most uncomfortable thing I've ever worn. They are very very tight I got a size 10.5 wide and they felt so tiny and painful. I'm in the process of a refund now and will be getting some 804s I wear them for work and i love them so much. It's a shame they look amazing but they are not built the same at all. Also, another thing the tongues of them were always slipping down and to the side constantly sp I couldn't stand that at all and I was not walking much at all.

Awesome brother, I have some of those with red laces DOC’S are a little bit hipster’ish I agree…… also another thing that bugs the mother F out of me is when I see posers walking around with THRASHERS t-shirts and hoodies I always stop whoever it is and ask them what does your shirt mean ?
