Well we know you're crazy. It did feel like the best episode so far. After a second viewing of last week's episode things settled in more. It did seem like the two tribes had been at it for so long that the overall vagueness seemed to work. Could definitely tell for sure that the Troik's leader did not have the best intentions for the new kids.
@sandal_thong86312 күн бұрын
They could have done something more with that episode. Like have both scouting parties be made up of kids. Or the kids use conflict-resolution they learned in school to negotiate a peace between the tribes. (Other than K.B. they seem pretty useless, don't they have any skills other than accounting?) We didn't see the tribes shoot each other or kill, so I thought it was a farce. But it's a kids' show so they decided not to show it. We also don't know how Jod got the animals, so we just have to go with what he said, which violated the rule, "Show, don't tell."

Most people thought they'd have to go to another At- planet to find the coordinates in its tower. Also, since it ended on the planet, At Achrann, some thought there might be more to do there. Since those credits are so valuable, Jod sure gave a lot to that hostess to protect his identity and give them a room; but she didn't do much of anything to earn them. He might have tried bribing that other woman; due to her deal when he gets away, she'll get nothing. There's supposed to be some kind of beast they have to encounter soon; maybe it's still alive underground all these years? Looks like the parents are showing some initiative. We can expect a message from Fara to the kids on the ship, from the trailer. I thought it might come down to the kids not going home to protect At Attin. But now that Jod and SM-33 know where it is, they probably have to go home and warn the supervisor they're coming.

<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="420">7:00</a> there is a big difference between ‘detachment’ and ‘non-attachment’. Detachment implies apathy and an avoidant attachment style. Non-attachment implies that a person is secure in their relationships to things/people/beliefs etc and therefore does not cling to material things. The Jedi practice non-attachment, rather than detachment which I think has become a MAJOR misconception in the fanbase and even among certain writers, leading to shows like The Acolyte where the Jedi way is portrayed as inherently flawed. The Jedi way is not flawed, it is how the Jedi followed the way that was flawed in the prequels and led to their downfall. Just wanted to clear that up for everyone and maybe start a discussion! :)

I can totally see him going on a rant in front of Wim about how the Jedi's morality and selflessness (along with their hubris) ultimately led to their downfall. I also think that Brutus and his crew are going to attack At Attin in the last episode (the trailers show the pirates intercepting a transmission from Fern's mom, so they probably trace it back there), and Wim is going to have to convince Jod to become a Jedi again (or at least temporarily) to save the planet.

It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't reject older students, but remember that they initially said NO to train Anakin. _Nine_ is too old for them. Nine. That's horrifying. And it really robs choice from the Jedi in question, because their parents and the Jedi made their choices for them. Given how Jedi preach how important choice is, this is pure hypocrisy.

I'm kind of emotionally distant or detached myself, am I a Jedi? <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="495">8:15</a>ish He "waited" so to speak, I think he realized that he had all the puzzle pieces that he needed to get to this legendary treasure and he wasn't going to let a couple of preteens muck things up. He might also really stand by the pirate code as his own moral compass, who knows, but the way he invoked the duel with Fern for the role of Captain felt like he was doing it as a formality. He clearly didn't want to hurt the kids, said so himself. He tried to make her say "yield" out loud for a reason, even if he told SM33 to throw them in the brig for mutiny after. I believe he would have put the kids in a time out for a bit and then let them be as normal, except they would take his orders now, but Wim once again did something stupid. He's easily my least favorite character of this show, no shade to the kid actor though. I didn't necessarily get the sense of ransom vs reward here but I totally see that perspective. As I said before I'm more just on the fact that he wants to secure the bag at all costs. He's not gonna want to let this slip through his fingers, it's a Legendary Score. We didn't see Tek Rennod's face for any particular reason. I think it was meant to convey just how long that place has been undiscovered for, the footage started to deteriorate. Initially I figured the Onyx Cinder had been crashed for like ~100-200 years but now I'm thinking it's been a lot longer than that with all this new info. Also consider the secret fortress that was on top of Lanupa is now a boujie spa for the elite and it's history is an ancient legend the guides are trained to tell you about. It must have been quite some time.

If the supervisor isn’t a droid, then maybe it’s the captain who took over and he just keeps the old republic credits for himself forever. Possibly dead and At Atten just thinks he’s alive

You pointing out that this episode felt complete, like it had its own story to tell, is why I am so glad to have cut the cord with Disney. That an episode of premiere SSF television should feel complete and be >30 min long should be a given, not a bonus 🤦🏽

Hey Thor. I will watch an episode now. Just this one.

Maybe the past captain was reborn as "The Supervisor" and the security robots are his new crew - they're all in on it. Meanwhile, "The Daniels..."

I'm guessing the 9 (well 8 of 9) jewel worlds were destroyed by Palpatine systematically sometime after the Clone Wars - he probably used them to pay the Kaminoans for the Clone Army. He also probably used them to pay for all the ships & equipment & also both Death Stars (at least initially). Once he had control via the Empire, those Mint worlds were no longer necessary - he could enslave & bully his way to pay for the Death Stars & the Imperial Army & Navy. It's probably likely the general Galactic population did not know about the Minting planets - possibly only the Banking Clan & a few other core financial VIPs knew about them. Obviously the Republic kept those systems secret, but Palpy would definitely know about them. So I think this series is not going to necessarily tie-into the High Republic, rather the Clone Wars & Empire. Oh, I loved the Indiana Jones & National Treasure vibe to this episode.

Maybe they hide the captain’s face in the logs because we will meet him later, he’s the At Attin supervisor?

That's one my problem with the Disney shows (well, aside from the dire script, terrible acting and all the other warts) - they seem afraid to tell a complete story in an episode. Take an episode of Strange New Worlds or Doctor Who. They have a plot, a problem, rising action, a climax and an ending. Sure you can have other developments along the way and that you can have things build off old episodes, but you get one, whole and complete story. Here, it's a frustrating 22 minutes of teaser for next week, or an episode arbitrarily cut in half like that witch series one that just had an episode stop in the middle before that saber fight. Give us a whole story, damnit!

This is Treasure Island set in the Star Wars universe. Remember, Jod was originally Captain Silvio, which is a reference to Long John Silver. That’s why it’s so fun. It’s a classic story, told a different way.

My thoughts: 1) “Your focus determines your reality, You have vision, embrace it, Make your life the one you want to live”-Jod 2) I was hoping the rat was the old captain 😂 3) Skeleton Crew works where The Acolyte doesn’t due to a consistent continuity 4) Will we see the reaction of At-Attin residents when/if they find out the Old Republic no longer exists?

I like this episode as well. Jod stole the show. I liked the tension and that the planet is a mint making money 💰. Now I hope the next episode is just as good

Called it when it came to the secret of At Attin. I thought it was a republic fort knox/mint. The clues were there. 1. The Kids lunch money was incredibly valuable to the outside. 2. The planet was kept hidden with limited outside contact. 3. All the adults were analysts, accountants etc. 4. Remember what the kids were being actually be taught. The instructor was talking about financial flows and currency movements of various planets. I think At Attin still is a functioning mint for whoever the successor state of the republic was. The adults are still doing work for 'the republic'. The Great work continues. The real question is, were they acting as the Mint for the Empire? And who are they Mint for now? The New Republic or the First Order!

Although we don't know Jods age we know that Jude Law is 51. Anakin was 45 when he died in Episode 6 so Jod could very well be a Jedi. I am guessing he is way younger in the show but he could have been a youngling when Qui Gon was still among the living.

Hey Thor. With all due respect, I don’t know why you feel the need to keep calling this a “kids show”. The “mature” content is at least on par with the OT, and it matches the more brutal aspects of the PT. In other words, I see nothing about this show that explicitly makes it more “for kids” than anything from the mind of George Lucas.

I guess the lack of politics.

Lucas went a lot darker than this show has and (or so I'd assume) will. Yes, there has been some implied violent deaths, but I don't think we'll see any charred corpses (Luke's aunt and uncle) any of our main characters lose a limb, or have it implied that a room full of younglings were cut apart by a lightsaber. And the reason I call this a kid's show is because of a more lighthearted nature in general. And that's in no way meant to be an insult, just the reality that this is indeed meant to be very kid friendly in order to get younger people into Star Wars.
