It’s always amazing seeing the Gods of Chess get humbled It shows that new talent and new players are always getting better No matter how long you stay at the top there will always be someone ready to surpass you Also Commentary as usual is ON POINT you always sound so energetic and capitalize on not just how good a move or placement was but you do such a good job of what the players are feeling in that moment

I think surpass is a stretch. All three results (w/l/d) are very much possible in a very strong tournament. A proof that youngsters did catch up already if they managed to stay at the top 10 for about 5+years already

People will always like Hikaru because he is so communicative and interesting to watch even when he looses it gives a great time to the audience. Alireza in my view is the best Chess player in the world currently (not accounting for accumulated rank and wins). I think he will win this tournament. Magnus only beat him by chance in a previous rank ( A. blunder).

As gifted as he is in speed chess, and seemingly getting better at it as he matures, he is letting himself down massively in classical, both games vs Caruana and Pragg he had a major advantage to win and couldn't find the winning sequence, even against Hikaru he had chances to win and lose, its very bizarre how he cant convert his chances, where youngsters like Pragg, Gukesh and Nodirbek will probably find the winning sequences in a advantageous position, hoping he'll improve
