Provide one single verifiable, concrete proof, data and evidence of your given definition. It's really very simple. Beyond that, you are merely worshipping a delusion your were told to believe as a child. That's how religion works; it strikes the young with a deluded idea of a god{s} then threatens you with more bullshit if you don't adhere to its dogma. Religion is based on ignorant men thousands of years ago "making shit up" in order to understand nature and control to women and the masses. I think Dillahunty,Dawson,and those like them are cheating their followers, as they are the little gods of secular truth, that opposes the notion of THE creator of all things. Plus, their message has no hope. And their reward is the following peers kudos; but in them and from their lips is no forethought of the eternal spirit, or after life. Their religion,( for they have many believers) has no life nor Hope. You'll get no pearls of wisdom,because it's Mostly of scoffing, and denying the God that knew them from birth. It's pretty much a dead religion!!! Think I'll place my trust in the ole 4000+ year old book of wisdom and Hope; the Bible. Troubleshooter125. I may do that! I don't mind checking out what others may think on things spiritual or not. I just believe that our souls and spirits and body are immortal, and our dead(sleeping) bodies will be quickened at an appointed time, to be reunited. One to heaven; for those that put their faith in the work of Christ sacrifice, for redemption and salvation. The second resurrection that has no life, and is a separation from God. I know very much, that God is, and has been working in my life in different ways for years, and even now. So I feel especially blessed! I wouldn't push my beliefs on others, nor scoff at them for non belief; as I feel they can discover it for themselves, and arrive at their own conclusions. What I don't like is the proverbial bullies, that take joy in trying to dismantle, or explain away, writs way older and sager than themselves. @sypherthe297th2 Жыл бұрын
Thats a misunderstanding on your part. Its not a KZbin thing. Advertisers choose where they want their ads to appear in broad categories. For normal advertisers hawking a product it'd probably look like what you expect. A Ford or Geico ad might play over videos talking about Tesla's causing massive collisions, car repair videos, or road trips. But they can also go broadly because almost everyone needs a car and insurance. For something like PragerU, popping an ad on a video such as this one makes sense in trying to hook less well-informed people. The videos then obfuscate the truth or make claims for things they cannot possibly support hoping to get them to nod along. But forget the practical reasons for a moment. They also get to "own the libs" placing ads on videos like this one. That alone is worth a few ad dollars to buffoons like Prager when you're being funded by right-wing Christian billionaires.

I've had so many arguments with the Religious but it is basically pointless. They're just not using the same standards of reason so any exchange is impossible. Its like arguing with a blindfolded person that speaks a different language. They will actually deliver their statement of belief as if it is fact and then deny having to provide any proof for what they say as they'll insist that God is correct by default. So they'll claim they *know* it. Then you will try to reason how and why their position is unsafe ...and they will demand that you prove that there is no God. An impossible waste of time.

No. It didn't *create* me at all. I'm merely here by chance like everyone else. And this planet was totally unsuitable for human life for millions and millions of years after it formed. And it certainly doesn't stay *perfect* either. There are a lot of areas on the surface of this planet that are inhospitable. We know we are in a cycle of ice ages that make human existence very difficult. Then there are things like earthquakes, volcano's, tidal waves, hurricanes, tornadoes, bush fires, floods, droughts, disease. Then we know that the Earth gets hit by a meteorite every 75 million years or so that is catastrophic enough to wipe out pretty much all life on the planet. But you really want to pretend that it was created perfect for me or you ? Its pretty clear its not, we're lucky to be here at all as the odds are really stacked against us.

+Paul Gray Does insanity run in your entire Family?
@wolframstahl12637 жыл бұрын
The problem is already in the title. In so many areas we've stopped to acknowledge criticism. Yeah, criticism might be harsh sometimes, but when it is justified, there might actually good intentions behind it, an offer to remedy mistakes you are making and shortcomings you have. Even if you strip away the good intention, you can still give criticism an honest evaluation, and if you find it lacking after careful examination, then you can still reject it. But so many people see all criticism (or even simply differing opinions) as offending, as an insult, as a declaration of war. We need to learn - and teach - fact based discourse again, and seeing the value in being wrong instead of feeling infallible.

hooterville2 Your comment makes no sense. People can most certainly have an irrational fear, hatred, or disgust towards ideas. Religions (like Islam) are ideas, and an irrational fear, hatred, or disgust is a phobia. Therefore, the term "Islamophobia" describes an irrational fear, hatred, or disgust towards the religion of Islam and/or people who believe in it. It's grammatically correct, and people who use it properly are generally not idiots.
@jagger10087 жыл бұрын
Islamophobia is a ridiculous word. Let's look at the definition; Islamophobia is defined as "Intense dislike or fear of Islam, esp. as a political force; hostility or prejudice towards Muslims". So Islamophobia is: Dislike or fear of Islam AND Hostility or prejudice towards Muslims They lump these 2 separate things into one definition, because it's reasonable to dislike or fear Islam, but it's unreasonable to be hostile or prejudice towards Muslims. We already have a word for being prejudiced towards Muslims, a BIGOT. The word itself is ridiculous. Islamo-phobia. A phobia is an irrational fear of something, so the word means "An irrational fear of Islam." But fearing Islam is a rational fear, I fear Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. These are some of the few ideologies that can make good people do horrible things.

Never heard this guy speak without liking what he said. I love his point about religious people always affiliating their perception of atheism and of evolution with whoever they're arguing against and arguing against their own predetermined perception rather than the argument at hand. It's because those who indoctrinate them teach them arguments against atheist concepts and evolutionary concepts that are outdated or just made up by religious leaders to discredit evolution and opposition of religion and when they encounter a real atheist with an actual point, they're always caught off guard and all they know how to do is argue against what the preacher said atheists and believers in evolution believe. It's why you still often hear "but why are there still monkeys?"

I don't find most of these statements offensive. Unless someone gets offended by the truth. The burden of proof is in the claim, not in the dismissal of the claim; there is morality outside religion; science is always finding flaws in its models and improvement is done through more and better science, not by god of the gaps; saying "I don't know" is better than pretending I know something I really don't; all of these are true statements, not insults.
