Talk's Ian Collins is joined by comedian and writer Steve N Allen to discuss the Chancellor's budget plan to fix an economic situation she said was left by the Tories.
An increase in public sector pay, tax rises and infrastructure projects are expected to be addressed as part of her announcement. Steve added "the people who seemed to hate Labour should be loving this... its austerity 2.0."

There was a good reason the winter payment was introduced and that was to try and ensure pensioners didn’t die in the face of freezing weather. Now with this decision it’s certain more pensioners will die as a result of her and labours decision to cast those pensioner adrift. Shame on her and shame on the rest of the socialist and communist party.

So those pensioners on pensions credits, who were on benefits or could not be bothered to go to work, are better looked after than the hard working people who are on a modest state pensions.

It doesn't mean that at all. Don't turn on those pensioners who are so poor they have to apply for Pension Credit. It simply means they did not manage to contribute enough to the pension pot to get a full pension, and that can be for a large variety of reasons, the least of which was having been on benefits. An enormous number of them were expected to stay home and bring up families and manage on one income and others devote years to caring for relatives disabled for one reason or another. Your words won't help anyone, and it might be a good thing to reflect on who is the villain here. It's not pensioners, it's bl***y Rachel Reeves!!

They knew the state of the economy and just lied in their manifesto. This is a bit of theatre to put the blame for their lies onto the Tories. Pensioners have seen the same at many changes of administration so no surprise. I hope to live to see both Tories and Labour consigned to the bin of history where they both belong.

In 2016 we all took a vote in which Cameron did not get the result he thought he would and felt he'd let parliament down so he resigned, and since it has come to light in a post that there were arounf 75% of our so called MP's who were against Brexit including Tory's, and giving us the result of that vote which is why they argued over a deal for the next 3 Years, why we need a deal is beyond me, we just need to sort out the paperwork, particularly at the borders!! But then Boris took the reigns and promised to get Brexit done, and he won his 80 seat Majority and as promised he pushe brexit over the line, which is not what our so called MP's wanted, and the main reason they got him out, and only recently Tom Bewick has been on GBnews and confirmed that there were around 90% of our MP's against Brexit, Farage recently in Palriament during his speech called it a remainers parliament. So my freinds it appears that if they do not want to give us what we vote for, then it is us, the nation against our own parliament. We need a clear out of both Liebour and the Tory's, particularly Liebour, their belief is power and control and if you control the nation you also control their finances!! Ask Sturgeon and the SNP they were successful at it for 17 years.
