Falcon wizard here. 3 diffs were in BA/BF. M87, M80 and M86. M78 were bog stock open wheel. Came in either 2.73 or 3.08 gears. M80 were open and LSD. Added the 3.46 for XR6. M86 were the XR8/FPV diffs. They were 30 spline axles and came with 3.46 and 3.73 gears.

Additionally the tr6060 in the fg na has higher ratios in 1/2 and 5/6 than the turbo model so if you want better response from the trans the the na is the better box. A manual fg xr6 came with an m80 non lsd with 3.45 ratio the fpv manuals came with 3.70 in the typhoon and f6. A NewZealand na fg xr6 came with an m86 turbo diff from factory.

Not all AUs were solid axle - the Series III XR6 had a really nice (read as: expensive to manufacture and fit to the car) multi-link IRS setup in it, then they went to the "control blade" setup in the BA to save money.

Thanks for the video. Doctor gave me the best advice for my back ever. Just for info I am 1.91 meters 163 kg, and over 50 years old. Have not had back problems after implementing this advise. " Tighten your stomach muscles " you do not need to have a six pack for this to work. He described this as your stomach and back work together if your stomach is not put in a any effort then all the pressure is on your back, and your back will then get misaligned. Been do this for 25+ years. When you lift tighten your stomach muscles and over time when you lift you will just do it take a month or two of thinking about it before you will just do every time you lift.

Great Video Guys. How to repair the rear end bushes a falcon.I have seen a video on doing this with a jack and Axel stands, a lot harder without the hoist. A lot of progress on the Falcon build this episode.

As far as I know the ba xr6s with the 4spd auto and 5spd manual all came with 3.45 ratio diffs, I thought the 6spd ones all came with 3.73s Who knows at this point with the amount of bits that have probably been swapped over haha

Just went through all this 2 months ago im fg xr6t after my subframe decided to split at the diff mount 🤦‍♂️ 1st pass of the day at Heathcote ,broke the cv and snapped the rear diff bolt, was fun driving it home 2 hrs ended up being 3 due to traffic clunking away every gear change 🤦‍♂️ I would've killed to have access to a hoist was not fun doing it on my garage floor on jack stands ,took 2 full days plus 1 to get parts ,worst mechanical job I've done in my life ,i didn't have nice things to say about ford that week lol I've retired it from the drag strip now, not taking it back till it's got a 9" and 4 link ,i despise falcon irs rear ends now. The 500hp n 775nms and manual probably doesn't help the situation. I'm very lucky my tailshaft end didn't explode, i didn't tape it up and just let it hang in the breeze cause I didn't know they explode lol Oh and how the handbrake cable runs through the subframe is so dumb too. Down side my 4" xforce exhaust now rattles on the subframe 🤦‍♂️ Wishing now I'd bought a ute, how hard u reckon it'd be to retrofit the ute diff into the sedan?

xt ba bf btr is 3:23 all zf falcon are 2:73 all xr6 btr t5 t56 na are 3:45 and turbo but it a m86 manual xr6 turbo and xr8 are 3:73

If your welding your diff after using brake cleaner make sure its a non chlorine containing brake cleaner or it will cause a poisonous gas and possibly kill you . Or use acetone to clean before welding if unsure.

You can still buy chlorinated brake clean in the US. If you weld after that, the result is potentially lethal.

not that it matters, the gas pump locks in 'Murica is about as inconsistent as anything else here. Most places you can use it, but some places either disable it due to municipality rules or possibly insurance stuff. Never had somebody yell at me for using the lock if it's still installed. That said, the only way the thing is going to overflow is if the customer is doing something sketchy to begin with or if the gas station isn't keeping up with maintenance like they should and have unsafe pumps, so chances are if it overflows it's the gas station's fault.
