Tim. A lovely effect and a very pure mental card effect. I like it alot. Reminds me of an old effect called 'Premonition....... I think i understand from start to finish everything that you are doing to achieve the effect. Just one area of confusion which is how the hell do you get the person to choose the matching 5C!. I think that there is no force involved.............ah! I've got it.........the three pile set up..... this must be a random black card ......something sticky going on here perhaps! Andy.

This is what I think is going down. I think the 5C is already in the box, and the spectator is forced to pick a random red card as the mystery card (so that when the rest of the reds are in, it looks like the 5C was the mystery card) The deck is set up such that the first and third quarter of the deck are red and second and fourth are black. A few false shuffles and then the deck is cut precisely in half when given to the Spector to riffle shuffle. This should ensure that most of the red cards are now at the top of the deck. This means that when we split the deck into thirds, the last pile will be all reds. It now doesn’t matter how much each pile is shuffled. The first pile will be blacks, the last pile will be reds. The middle pile is mixed, so this is the pile you can show to demonstrate they are mixed. Now the spectator picks any card from pile 3. This will be red and that’s all that matters. It goes into the box. Then the card sorting happens. Presumably if the spectator had initially said red, you just use that to mean that the red cards go into the box (and if they say black it means they keep the black cards). Either way the red cards are going in the box and making the mystery card blend in. We count the black cards. There’s one short. We reveal the 5C in the box.

@@pejijoe Nicely done. You pretty much got it. There's actually a red card and a black card inside the card box to start with. So they can say red or black, and there's no force involved. But you're right- when all the cards of one color go in the box and then come back out, it includes the opposite colored card that was in the box already, and the other card just blends in with all the other cards of the same color. One question, if there’s a red card and a black card in the box and they put the black cards into the box, wouldn’t the prediction be wrong then? I assumed you would have to put the red cards in the box so that 5C is correct

@@pejijoe The prediction card is double-faced, with a red prediction on one side and a black prediction on the other side. You'll notice I never show the back of that card!
