Good breakdown, and I'm glad JRJR is getting his due as an excellent artist, as he's inexplicably trashed by too many today. And Dan Green also did a great job inking JRJR in his early and later runs on X-Men, and there was something about his brush lines that caught Romita Jr.'s pencil intent more than most.

Well, to be fair even tho i am a fan.... I get why he is divisive. His art is blocky, his proportions are always all over the place and inconsistent and the biggest issue to me is that almost everyone looks the same. Hes got like 2 or MAYBE 3 variations for men and women, so everyone ends up looking related and i can see why people dislike it. His stuff is more palatable with a good inker like scott hanna. I think that most criticism thrown at him is completely justified and valid. The over the top hatred for his art i just ignore, those people dont matter. His superman run was embarrassingly bad, i really couldnt believe that dc even allowed it to be printed, ive never been so let down by a comicbook before in my entire life. For contrast, his current spiderman run, in my opinion, is some of his best art in 30 years. Hes probably the most inconsistent artist out there, it seems he either phones it in, or he nails it

@@jonathansoko1085 hist fisrt issue in the current Spider-Man run is beautiful huh, but by the teens issues, the inker just got sloppy again I think.... Pretty bad looking on the ms marvel death issue

This might have been the first time I've ever seen JR JR's pencils alone in terms of pages and not convention sketches and it is breathtaking. As for the rest of this, as someone who's loved comics all his life and has never really delved into the craft of inking, this was fascinating.

You have to understand the basic admiration of the comicbook. For someone who has no artistic talent when it comes to drawing. There are no bad artists or inkers...to see a comic page come to life just by lines on a piece of blank paper...is just pure joy regardless of who is presented......hell,even Liefield's stuff looks reasonable. These guys are alchemists and wizards...as far as I'm concerned. Wow!!! I look at some early Wally Woods stuff and I get weak in the knees...Crumb...Corben...Steranko...Ditko... G.Kane...B.Kane...on and on.....face it...I'm a comic slut....I love it all. Nice channel...Kudos!
