Thoughts On THE FINAL SHAPE Campaign (So Far)

In this video I'll be sharing my personal opinion on Destiny 2's Final Shape campaign. Even though the story has not completely wrapped up just yet, there was a lot to discuss in the initial 7 missions so, here are my thoughts! Enjoy! 🍻

I finished this expansion on Solo Legendary and man was it a good and challenging experience. Genuinely the best campaign Bungie has ever made for Destiny 2

@IronworkerGaming I did it on titan because of Hazardous Propulsion fulfilling my mecha fantasy. And man does the exotic NOT disappoint. It buffs rockets, rocket sidearms, the rocket tracers/nanotech rockets (impact only so that's bugged), the wolfpack rounds of Ergo Sum, and Grand Overture's missiles

Ohhh!! That does sound pretty amazing! When I heard that it buffed Rocket damage, I just assumed Rocket Launchers not considering all of the various classifications of "rockets" that we actually have access to! 👍👍

I actually really liked the opening mission I turned my hud off and just immersed myself. It felt amazing.

As an Arcstider main I didn't have to worry about any cool downs so I felt like I got to live and breathe the experience of being a guardian.

Zavala has been struggling with his lost faith in the traveller since season of the haunted. It didn’t all just happen in the final shape. You have to look at his full story arc (across all other seasons)…not just in the final shape campaign. If you recognize that, his swings during the campaign make sense and work well.

I am up to date on everything that Zavala has been through over the past few years in Destiny, and I still found his character arc through this campaign to shift a bit too drastically for my taste...but to each their own. If you were happy with it, that's all that really matters. 👍👍

This is such a great video So many people are insanely negative because of servers and some are saying it’s bad and taken king is better but you actually talk about the game the mission structure what you liked etc Definitely earned a like as always There’s a great build with no time get away artist bleak watcher and helion You can even throw in a heavy hatchling gun with needle storm You can have like 4-5 buddies it’s actually insane

I'm really happy to hear that you enjoyed it! It's definitely not my typical content, but I thought it would be nice to share my thoughts. The day one server issue were very unfortunate, but I figured it was best not to dwell on them. That debacle is behind us and I didn't want it to factor into my takeaways from the campaign experience! Funny that you should mention a build along those lines because I was just thinking about something along those line and throwing No Time To Explain in for good measure!! 😂👍

@@IronworkerGaming haha well since you gave such an excellent video I figured I’d return the favor by recommending a build Haven’t done too much with prismatic yet I just now beat legend story but this was the first build that came to mind (I started on warlock so we end on warlock)

As a quick side note, take your time and try not to overly push yourself to post videos! Have fun, and if a break is needed, totally do that. I agree with the takes overall. Regarding the Dread faction, I am totally in favor of your opinion, though I could confidently say the faction can be punishing for people that underestimate them and disregard their potential disruptive abilities. As you mentioned, “we see ads we shoot”, which is good. But once you go “eh it’s fine” they can disrupt whatever you were trying to do. Spoken from experience, specifically the final story mission (Tinnitus blast is actually nasty). Cheers to you, and yep a closure to a whole friggin' 10 years is gonna be a big shoes to fill in (idk how else to put it)… so here we go hoping for the post-raid mission, and the episodes even. Thank you very much! It really has been a wild ten year ride with Destiny! I just had the pleasure of playing the final mission, and I thought it was phenomenal. A very fitting cap-stone on our journey! I am excited to see what the future holds and hopefully Bungie can keep the magic that they captured in this expansion flowing! 😁🍻

I'm right there with you! Over the past year, there we times where I just couldn't convince myself to even log into D2, but the Final Shape has really breathed new life into the game for me! 😁🍻

Also just wanna say this I don’t think that was actually the witness he was too small and when he shows up it’s kinda like broken mirror kinda how calus was communicating with him The vanguard saw the real witness as he was MASSIVE Like probably triple the size of oryx massive

I really wanted to hear your thoughts but I have not completed the story missions yet (I know I know, it has been out for 5 days, but I work a lot of hours). I have salso not watched any D2 reltated videos yet (ok, I did watch the 'where is xur' on Friday). This will be my first D2 Final Shape related video after I finish the campaign. I have aved this video to 'watch later' and will come back to hear and compare your thoughts on it.

As someone who has experienced loss from war, I promise, it fractures your mind a little bit every time. The worst is when the war is technically over, but friends are still living there in their head and can't get a moment of silence, so they make it quiet. I dont agree, but I get it. Sorry if I made this real... just my thoughts on zavala. He just lost his ghost last night for me. I get it, though foolish.

My impression on final shape so far Warning its on legendary Final mission with a friend: man this is easy! Witness: remember how you hate immune phases with a fiery passion? Me: yeah......? Witness: you neee to fight me and two bosses. All of us have immunity phases. Oh and i can teleport behind you and my attack can one shot you. Me: do i atleast get to- Witness: wait till after the raid to finish to defeat me. Hopefully its not salt who wins. I hear hes not really liked in the community. On a lighter note though, ironworker you still play warframe? If so you excited for jades shadow? Ember is getting buffs and jade looks busted!

Hahaha! That sums things up pretty well! 😂 Unfortunately, I've only booted up Warframe a few times over the past couple of months. I still need to get into the Dante Unbound content. I've been devoting the bulk of my free time to Destiny and trying to get a little bit of life back in this KZbin channel, even though it feels like I'm fighting a losing battle. I really do need to hop back in there soon though! 👍🍻

The dread are… odd Like the psions suffer from the terrain features for their abilities and deal really too much melee damage, while husks deal way less damage and aren’t… swarmy/ threatening enough. Omens and subjugators are good but they have way too much “gun damage resistance” and the suspend-midair/ crystal shatter insta kill is annoying. Grim are amazing though

I missed a lot of cinematic scenes because of error codes on day 1, but for my next play tru, i will take my time and do it on normal. Edit: I agreed with you about zavala. I still can get used to his new voice.

The day one server issues were very unfortunate. I expected the normal launch day issues, but this time around it seemed a bit worse. A second playthrough on normal mode if definitley worthwhile if you missed some of the content! 😁👍

It did hurt my heart the first time I heard Zavala speak. I think Keith David did as good of a job as he could, but it will always be strange to me not hearing Lance Redick through Zavala. 👍👍

I think my main question I'd like to ask, as someone who plays Destiny casually on and off over the years, is do you feel like the content so far is worth the price point? That's kind of been my sticking point when I've bought the last two big expansions when they were still new, is that while they were fun and I enjoyed the new subclasses, I also felt like I just didn't really get that much for my money before I was just back to the same old grind as always, but with a couple of new toys.

That's always a really tough question to answer with "value" being subjective. In terms of what we got, I think it's some of the best content we've been presented with. Both the campaign and post campaign activates and missions are all of very high quality in my opinion. But as with any expansion, once you finish the meal that's placed in front of you, things just naturally regress back to "Destiny as usual". I do think The Final Shape may have a bit more longevity than previous expansions in that regard, but at the end of the day, Destiny is Destiny. 👍🍻

Glade the finial shape has a good campaign but probably not still not going to buy it that bridge was burnt down years ago

I can definitely understand that. Bungie has done plenty to lose the goodwill of players over the years. It's hard to blame anyone for choosing to walk away from the game. 👍🏻👍🏻
