Great and informative video. Love the comparison and you talked about how great of a value it is.

I feel like you’re definitely someone who could use the RCV to full potential. They did a really awesome job with it!

I wanted 4 XLR inputs and of course 4k

Same!! You know the Pro version will definitely have that more like maybe a bigger screen

I saw you over on the Minvo's channel talking about this so I came over to ask a question. I never record in 4k and don't want the hassle of working with such large files. But what you think about this device being 8-bit instead of 10-bit? This is only something I have begun exploring because I have seen some video quality on KZbin from the RCV that seems a little washed out or soft and I wonder if this is the reason. I am curious to know what you think? After having watched an older B&H video called "8-bit vs. 10-bit Video | What's the Difference?," my understanding is if you color grade your video, you will need to watch out for banding.

@@Teacher_Tangents hey! Fantastic question. I have also noticed that the footage lack a bit of detail or character. I shoot 10bit on my Camera and there’s a huge difference from 10 to 8. I have to personally get my hands on it to see.

@@Teacher_TangentsI do also thing the video from the event looks a little bit washed though. 8bit is fine but you definitely have less color grading capabilities

Not wanting to say this is bad, it's not, it sounds amazing what it is capable of. But I'm still criticizing Rode for labeling a very, very basic "if then else" operation (if level on mic 1 use camera 1, else if level on mic 2 use camera 2) with the magic buzzword AI. It is not AI AT ALL! All it does is checking the signal level of the mics and switching to the camera assigned to that mic, add in a hold function, for when the discussion gets heated to keep the camera on the initial speaker and not the one talking into the speaker, and a small delay/hysteresis to not switch back and forth constantly when there's a few MS between sentences and the other participants cough or something like that.

I don’t think they called it AI I think I did 😅 I have to agree with you that it’s not for everyone but it’s definitely made for people who want to simplify their setup for podcast production. I know for sure with a few updates that they will fix that camera switching potential bug

@@GuilDormeus You're right, I just had a look on their website and Rode calls it "Intelligent auto-switching" so let's meet in the middle and say your "AI" stands for "Automatic Input" so it keeps it sense in "AI switching feature"
