When I was 10 and 11, I had this weird thing that happened to me in the day where I would randomly feel sick like I was gonna barf, and I would have diarrhea, and I would feel so much pain just randomly. Wet season means much bigger doses of ergot fungi in wheat. If some merchant sold somewhere this wheat or flour (which would be much cheaper than normal because of it), there might have been even some quarters that were on a trip. you don’t necessarily die after 3 days. You become very dehydrated. Some people fast for weeks on end, although it’s not recommended it is possible to stay alive for weeks without food or water.
