I don't think the majority of people in the UK have an issue with legal migration or genuine asylum seekers. They have an issue of slow removal of illegal immigrants, people who commit crime, and visible differences on how quickly and equally the law is applied to different groups. I sincerely hope the angry rioters out there take a moment to reflect. Those muslim, refugee and immigrant brothers and sisters are standing for a value our country has always held dear. We can disagree on a lot of things but we've gon to war against fascism before and the rioters are currently standing on the wrong side of that fight. Most of them have never even had a proper talk or made connections with their migrant communities. That's where your fear comes from. Integration isn't just something the migrants have to do. We have to do it to so that this disinformation doesn't take hold. Muslims aren't here to steal women or bring "Shariah Law", in fact, many left their homes behind to escape countries where those problems did exist. The best moments of our history have been when we have reached out and taken in people who are in danger. That should be our legacy. Not the long dead sentiments of colonialism and empire.

That woman speaks very well. My grandfather fought fascism in WW2, we cant let them win now. But also, we need to address the real causes of people's issue like lack of social / affordable housing, lack of GP appointments, increased poverty while we have more Billionaires than ever, sky high Energy costs while the Energy companies make huge profits, BoE keeping people's mortgages (and therefore often rents) high because of inflation, when we all know it was the Energy Companies that caused the massive inflation, not joe public. But most of all, we need to educate people why its not the migrants causing all this, which they think becaue they have been drip fed this rhetoric by Daily Mail, Daily Express and Sun. Lastly, immigration has rocketed over the past 2 years because of Brexit and the Tories. So, Labour will need to address this quickly. Though strangely, no one rioted when the Tories were in poiwer causing all this? 🤔
