I like the fact that those who think they are ready are more likely less ready than those who don't thing they are ready to lead.
@emperorofinception35712 жыл бұрын
I recall one book I read where when one of the main characters rises to the position of king, he notes that he does not believe himself read or sufficient. The person giving him that power stated that if he thought himself sufficient then it would be proof that he was indeed not ready. In another book, another character noted that he thinks that he does not deserve power because he once desired it and determined that at times those who want power may well be the ones who don't know how to use it or don't deserve it. He has found that leadership is best when given to someone who does not desire it but wields it well.

One thing that makes Thrawn superior is that he does not have a fragile Ego that drives him to desire absolute control over every situation .He knows when to let things go and when to trust his subordinates and their abilities and autonomy .So many great victories he would have lost if he did not allow his enemy a smaller victory that let him gain a bigger perspective . The Ilussion of Absolute Domination is the slayer of many great minds .

As absolute domination is an illusion, so to is absolute safety. Thrawn himself said that those who seek it end up bashing themselves against the very rock they desire to hide behind.

There are two tropes that I regularly encounter in fictional stories, which do you think is more worthy of authority? 1. A humble character who does not seek power/authority, but always finds him/herself in situations that force them to lead. Their innate leadership eventually grants them a position of authority or leadership that the character never wanted. 2. A character from a humble or poor background who believes themselves worthy of more. The character is ambitious (not arrogant) and either creates or takes advantage of situations that allows them to prove themselves eventually earning the authority they desire. Which character do you believe deserves it more? Do you think being ambitious subtracts worthiness from a person's character?
@LoneWolf20213 Жыл бұрын
this is a tricky question, the first one doesn't desire power, and has proven worthy of authority through actions and forced leading and while the second one does desire power and athority, the fact they are not arrogant or take advantage of situation to make themselves look good show's their patients and willingness to earn everything he is given, a trait needed in all leaders I personally would still prefer someone who doesn't desire power than the one who does since the one who desires power will always be tempted for more, so while close, I will pick the first one
