@johnrandles9957 Yep. That is how I ended up getting it. Fishing in between boss kills.

Just a couple of corrections: 1) you don’t need to have the world quest active to switch into storm mode. Suzie can take you into storm mode whenever you want after completing the quest. 2) the torrential key is not a drop. You get it from combining 7 fragments that drop from any mobs in storm mode.

@BreakingRadOfficial Thanks for the comment! You are correct on the Torrential key. Another change Blizzard made from PTR to release. Going to have to be a lot more careful how soon we release these after patch release. Blizzard got us on a bunch of things that changed from PTR late in the cycle.

I wonder if this was originally going to be the Rogue class mount in Legion, but they decided it ultimately didn't fit the class and went with the crow. Either way, thanks for this guide.

I've seen comments that you can fish around where zakul spawns and get the stone but I haven't tried it yet

@johnmark4982 Thanks for the comment! Yeah saw this morning as well. Fish behind the spawn point where the big fish skeleton is. It seems they nerfed the drop rate from Zekul pretty heavily. I got it in about 40 or so casts in between killing Zekul. He still has a chance to drop the Torrential runes however so worth killing him in between fishing..

The torrential took me about 3 hours of farming. The cyclonic took about 30 casts fishing. The rare never dropped it for me.

@Mothership7676 Grats on the Torrential! That one is a beast. I have been over in the zone almost every day and have had one fragment drop. One! haha This RNG is brutal sometimes.

unless you are in a group farming the 7 fragments ?..its not going to be easy to get all 7 !..lmao. this part of the mount is the worst part of getting the mount.

None of the farming guides for this step are correct. They have significantly nerfed the drop rate on these fragments. 5ish hours spent killing stuff on the island in the storm, and I have 3 of the fragments. The skeletons do not have a 48% drop rate like WoWHead says.

@alanshaw4655 Yeah this is the worse by far. The drop rate is horrendous right now. Going to take some time to get all 7 fragments. I imagine we'll be done with everything else before getting the 7 fragments.

@alanshaw4655 Yeah I am in the same spot you are. I have 3 fragments and have killed tons of mobs on the isle. Definitely need to up the drop rate.

I joined a farming group just a few days ago and got all 7 in a little over an hour. There’s a few spots, especially to the north where the spawn rate is pretty high and we were able to continually round up dozens of mobs and AoE them down.

“Easy to get” is the biggest lie. Torrential rune fragments have a stupid low drop rate. It’s a huge turn off. Considering the reward is an OLD model with zero effort from the devs, this is simply infuriating. Thanks Ion!

@teej143 Completely agree. They changed it from how it was setup during PTR shortly before we released this video. I am still 2 Torrential Fragments short and have done a ton of farming. The drop rates are crazy low.

Easy in the sense that anyone can do it if you have about 8 hours to farm fragments and get very lucky killing the squid or fishing. But I would not classify 8 hours + of grinding as "easy" Easy is like the Stratholm mount where you just kill a boss with 100% drop rate.

@goenmo It definitely is a grind to get the fragments. Drop rates for me have been horrendous but this is supposed to be at least an 8 week patch and typical of us WoW players we are trying to get things in the first 48 hours haha 😂

The sad thing about this is that The Storm is once a week! I didn't get anything from the first Storm & got out of it quick! This is so time gated & I hate it!

You can just ask Susie to take you into the storm at any time. She’s the goblin standing next to the electrified mech suit.

@BorgWolf359 Yeah you can only do the quest once a week but once you open the storms, you can go back and forth when you want for the week.
