I came to Studio One in 2017 for the Scratch Pads but one of the reasons I've stayed is these tutorials. Keep 'em coming, I like the way they pop up on the right when you open the DAW too, better than getting notifications in email!

Great Help Gregor! After watching 100000000000 videos online about learning daws, I love yours because they are short, to the point and clear. Great! May I suggest starting a song from scratch using all these tips (hotkeys, shortcuts, audio tips and so forth) so we could follow along your writing process? Thanks. Cheers from Argentina.

If u want a chorus to pop, just select it with the range tool, and raise the volume with the bracket mouse icon ✨ do the opposite if u want to make a section softer 👍
@Pulse2AM
@Pulse2AM 2 жыл бұрын
I usually do that with drums and bass, sometimes using velocity if midi parts are either of those. I prefer to make the chorus pop by arrangement rather than volume or velocity changes though I usually use both. No substitute for a strong chorus vocal and arrangement.

This is great, Gregor! Thank you so much! I use you "Go to next transient and set Bend marker"- macro all the time. I like the short format, and younger generations' attention span can deal with it. Although I think your audience are patient considering we easily spend 2 hours tweaking compressor settings on a snare :D

Yes, very helpful!! Thank you!! Have you done a video on how to separate tracks within an VST instrument, for example using IMPACT - a quick way to assign faders to each individual midi track? I usually spend too much time trying to separate these tracks, and I'm sure it's super easy to to. Thanks again, Gregor!

Very cool. I'm curious, is there a way to automatically add nodes in your automation lanes at the edges of the Arrangement sections? I often made early passes with vol and/or pan that align with arrangement sections, so having the nodes already there simplifies that.

still the most basic things are needed for mastering via the project page. Volume envelopes on the wavforms, multi format export, and Metadata encoding for lossless formats. Otherwise though, a great daw.

Hello Gregor, great tips you give for Studioone, already helped me a lot ! Iàm missing one thing in Studioone : Is there a transport function ( preroll ) simular to that in cubase, where you can activate preroll during playback ( not recording only ), and no matter where you are in the song when you stop playback, you move back bars when starting plyback again, ( the number of bars you can adjust in the preroll settings ), ? Seeting the marker in Studioone is too workintensive.

Could you please explain how to quantise midi notes from for example a piano without messing up the sustain pedal data?!? Sustain information is not being quantised parallel to the notes. Is there an option to link midi notes and sustain pedal data when quantising? Drives me crazy.
