Is it possible to add more coconut and make it more liquid ?
@nhatngon11 жыл бұрын
Ah, please do! I haven't had it for years. The texture is similar to "Bach Duc Lac Cham Tuong" from North VN but sweet and has a pandan flavor with green color:) Thank you in advance, Trang! :)

BTW, do you know how to make "Banh Duc La Dua"?

Hi I was wondering if we needed to cook the red beans or does the heated sugar water cook it? or do we not cook the red beans? Thanks
@RunAwayRice9 жыл бұрын
+Erin Ko Hi Erin, the canned red beans are fully cooked so we just need to rinse and add the syrup.

I recently tried this recipe. Thought it was a little dry, especially the mung bean paste. When whipping it up, I thought the texture was pretty good but then it becomes dryer when you refrigerate it. Should I just add water to the mung bean paste?
@RunAwayRice5 жыл бұрын
Hi Doan, yes, mung gets dry when refrigerated. The best way to restore the moisture is to add a few tablespoons of boiling water and mix it well and then microwave for 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Awesome! I'll bet it tastes better than the store-bought version ;) Thanks for trying the recipe.

also, is Agar Agar granules the same as powder? I've never worked with this before, not sure. I followed instructions and it's been chilling in fridge for 4 hours now but not setting. also, I used uncooked red beans because that's all I had. should I cook it for 10-15 mins?
@RunAwayRice9 жыл бұрын
+Erin Ko Hi Erin, the granules are less fine than the powder and should work. The key with using agar agar is make sure the liquid reaches a boiling point. This is what activates the gelling properties. When using uncooked red beans, cook the beans in a generous amount of water until they are soft. 10-15 minutes is good if using the small red beans. The larger ones take longer. Hope that helps!

I can't seem to find pandan paste can you use pandan powder instead? Will it taste the same?
@RunAwayRice11 жыл бұрын
Yes, the powder will work similarly but the color may not be as vibrant as when using the pandan paste. Use 1 tsp of the powder in this recipe. Good Luck!

I wonder how many people this recipe serves? Thanks

It's approximately 4 servings and you'll have some jelly leftover.
