Three Days Grace is a wonderful band. One of my favs to see live. They put on a hell of a show. 😁

I really don't mind you pausing a lot. It's really interesting to hear you break down the lyrics. It helps (at least me) to hear old songs with new eyes! Love your reactions as always! :)

It's made in two ways, one is the way when you feel so numb and you want to feel something and another is the irony of what he's singing, he means he tired of being human pain and suffering and so he wants to become a machine to feel nothing and have no feelings :)

Most people think you can only learn from something in the light. But you need the light and the dark to learn from your mistakes.

This is a song about addiction and soul searching (I’m an alcoholic myself). But I’m glad that you actually try to deconstruct the song and find meaning in the art!

I think the song is about being emotionally detached. this leads to depression, introverted personality, loneliness

Hey there I’m a new sub. Love the variety of rock music your doing. By chance did you notice the difference in singer between Three days grace pain And three days grace I am machine? The one doing I am machine is “Matt” the new singer after “Adam” left the band in 2013. I prefer Adam but I also appreciate Matt. Adam went and did a duet with breaking Benjamin for the “aurora” album singing “Dance with the devil” My two favourite singers of all time it was a match made in heaven :3. Anyway. I think the parallels between Adams “pain” And Matt’s “I am machine” Is really interesting. One says they would rather feel pain and the other days “they wish they could feel something” it’s like the machine is the aftermath of no longer being able to feel pain.

Actually previous singer Adam was writing that but he left without finishing lyrics. Apparently, the other members did not like which direction the band was heading. Also he was in depression and in was drug addicted (song is kinda about that) in that time (I don't know about now). So he walked away without a word. They got new singer who sang this. Adam created a new band "Saint Asonia" in 2015.

@@arielshadow7667 dude not at all. Guy retired because he has kids and he's past his addictions so he's not angry any more he even said at interview that he dosnt wanna make angry songs anymore when he's so much happier then he used to behe feels like its lieing

@@scottroden2104 he left Three Days Grace with official massage on his social media "For health reasons". 2 years later (in 2015) he made band called Saint Asonia which he is till now. He is still singing. Some fans of old Three Days Grace says that Saint Asonia is kinda like that.
