I do have a question for you... My imported svg is not extruding as a solid. so it prints with hollow, trapped resin inside. solutions? Thank you for generously sharing all your insights.
@notverygoodguy Жыл бұрын
@@caseymcdonald1686 It should extrude solid normally and it would usually need a solidify modifier ( un-intuitively) to make it hollow. At least as resin printing is concerned. One thing that might make it appear hollow is if some walls are inside out. I would expect your slicer to spot that to be honest but it might not. So, I would definitely turn on Face Orientation in the overlays drop down at the top right of the viewport. Make sure you don't have any red faces on the outside. If you do, select them in edit mode, and go Mesh->Nomals->flip If you still have issues feel free to post a link to the blend file and I'll have a look at it.

This is a fantastic video, thank you. I'm assuming you're not printing out naked figures, so what do you use for clothing that is printably friendly?
@notverygoodguy2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Sometimes I do print naked figures but usually they have some kind of clothing and that could be an idea for the next video actually :) There are several ways to do it. Easiest is to select some faces in the shape of some clothes and then duplicate them with D, scale them up a little and then add a solidify modifier. You can then tidy it up with the sculpting brush or something. Alternatively you can design clothing with planes and add cloth physics and stich the parts together with the stitching option. I often use simply cloth pro which is a paid add on though it doesn't cost so much. Maybe I'll do a quick vid :)

Is it allowed to use the models commercial for games in Unity or Unreal ? And if it's allowed, are there any restrictions ?
@notverygoodguy6 ай бұрын
There are different licenses for different models. There are some restrictions on the mb-lab models for example because they are licensed under AGPL which I believe means you can use it but must also make it available for others though I am not a lawyer. On the other hand in charmorph the Anotonia model and Reom use creative commons BY which means you can do with it what you will as long as there is an attribution statement somewhere. Best to check before using a model in closed source games.

@@notverygoodguy I have read the TOS of both sites before I have posted my question ... the list of rules is really very long and complicate written. Thanks for this video. How do I get my rig to look like yours? with all the controls. could you do a video on how to pose?
@notverygoodguy2 жыл бұрын
Hi and thanks for the feedback. With makehuman, there are not many controls as it is quite a basic rig. However, both MB-Lab and charmorph have a finalize button that you have to press before they create the rig. The one in the video with the fancy coloured rig is the one created by charmorph. If you don't see the rig, it may be that you don't have the rigify addon enabled. That hadn't occurred to me as I have had rigify enabled for ages so please let me know. I could do a posing video but probably only for charmorph as that has the most complete and flexible rig.
@notverygoodguy2 жыл бұрын
Just confirmed you DO need to have rigify enables for charmorph to use it. Just enable it by Edit->Preferences->Add-ons and then in the little search box type "rigify" and click in the little box immediately to the left of the "Rigging: Rigify" label that should have appeared.

Do you know of any addons that would allow you to enter precise measurements for the model? Or if it would be possible to do it with one of these 3?
@notverygoodguy2 жыл бұрын
If you want measurements such as length of arms, circumference of thigh etc then I don't think that would be possible. The exact height of the model is possible though without an addon as you can enter the Z height directly in the scale box. However, this would change depending on the pose.

Yes there is. In the "Base:" dropdown option you will find "MB-Lab male" and it uses the same model as MB-Lab uses. All three of the tools shown come from the same guy eventually. This is all directly due to the efforts by Manuel busted bastoni

He created the models and the original work for MB-Lab that's true but the current code for that and charmorph are separate now. I also don't think he was responsible for the Antonio model in charmorph. He should get a lot of credit for what he did but is also the reason that the license for the model is not completely free. Many attempts were made to contact him to get his permission to completely free them but he kind of just disappeared. This is the reason that MB-Lab are going in a completely new direction with the model. I do not know if Bastoni was involved in make human. He may have been.

This video was really aimed at 3d printing where animating is not so important. However, you need to look for information on rigging, posing and keyframing. IT isn't so hard to do something simple. It is a different matter if you want it to be realistic. You will also need to separate the head from the body to make it a separate object. BLENDER is an overwhelming software. Way too much to learn. Makehuman is simpler more attarctive, lot less complicated. COULD YOU PLEASE. Make more Makehuman tutorials? Ex. Can it be done.??? Thank you. Trying very hard to avoid Blender. I just can't remember where to go to do what I want. .
@notverygoodguy2 жыл бұрын
Blender is not so hard if you stick to the parts you need. For example if you want your fishing man, all you need is a human model with a rig either from makehuman or wherever, select the rig, go to pose mode, select a bone and move it, select another bone, move it etc, find a fishing rod model and add it. In it's simplest form, this will will get you where you want to go even though it would be a bit tedious. That said, I can't see how you get to where you want with only makehuman and meshmixer. I just checked and there is no fishing person pose available in makehuman so you will need to find some means of posing whatever you do. Perhaps Daz3d studio is for you. It makes posing simple but it does have a restrictive license for 3dprinting. Alternatively look at this model on cults 3d, maybe it works for you cults3d.com/en/3d-model/art/n1-sitting-fisher-with-fishing-rod-3d-print-model
